Very nice guesthouse, Japanese style. It includes breakfast and dinner (because the restaurants of the island closes very early). I stayed in a share room, everything okay!
Jukeiso features Japanese-style rooms overlooking the majestic entrance gate (Torii) of Itsukushima-jinja Shrine, only a 5-minute walk from the Unesco World Heritage Site itself.

My wife and I stayed here for the 8th leg of our Japan honeymoon. The ryokan offers a shuttle service from the port station to the property which is very convenient as the ryokan is half way up one of the mountains/hills on the island. The staff here were very friendly, and my wife and I were glad that we had learned some basic Japanese as we used it the most during this stay. While the staff do speak English, their English is limited, so I recommend having some translation app or preparing phrases for the common interactions you'd expect to have at a hotel/ryokan.
We were a little wary that our rooms at this ryokan would be cold and dated like a previous stay during our honeymoon, but we were pleasantly surprised. The room was very large, and had a modern ceiling-mounted air conditioning/heating unit. The view from our room was stunning, overlooking the 5 story pagoda and bay. The Itsukushima Shrine was just slightly out of view from our window, but was very visible from the patio.
We had the Kaiseki dinner and breakfast here, and the food was simply outstanding. Lots of sea food, which was great. They do ask you for your allergies in advance and we witnessed one couple sitting near us complaining that they were served a dish they are allergic to -- so make sure you inform them as they ask you for a reason! The staff here also made sure to get us a reservation for the private open-air bath on check-in, which was really nice as our previous ryokan didn't help us with this. The ryokan is just a short walk from the Itsukushima Shrine, and provided a walking map in our room which was pleasantly unexpected. We also experienced our 6.4 magnitude earthquake during our stay at night, which was exciting!
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here. We wished we had stayed more than one night. The island is beautiful and not crowded at all -- even during peak season -- and I'd definitely stay at Jukeiso again given the chance.
Oyado Tsukiusagi offers Japanese-style rooms and free WiFi, within a 10-minute walk from Itsukushima Shrine. Some rooms come with sea views, and all have a private bathroom.
We only stayed one night, but I wish we stayed 2-3.
We only stayed one night, but I wish we stayed 2-3. I left feeling like I only scratched the surface. Beautiful and peaceful place to unwind, especially after visiting the Peace Park Museum in Hiroshima.

It is a magic island where I would spend at least a couple of full days by sleeping in an authentic hotel with futon beds. If you can, i recommend to do the hiking of the main mountain (not difficult at all)

If you are an elderly Japanese teetotaller who likes simple food, an onsen and beautiful views this is the place for you!
If however, you also like your hotel to be multi generational, with a nice bar, good food and a welcoming atmosphere, this is definitely not the hotel for you.

We stayed 2 nights but wish we could have stayed longer.
We stayed 2 nights but wish we could have stayed longer. We took one whole day climbing the mountain, which was great but time consuming, so we ended up not seeing everything on our list. Keep in mind that the restaurants and bars close by 7 or 8 pm because all of the tourists leave the island around 5:30 pm. You really get to enjoy the beautiful island in peace and quiet in the morning and evening before the boats of tourists arrive. It was our favorite place we visited in Japan!

Miyajima Villa was the perfect escape!
Miyajima Villa was the perfect escape! Friendly, professional staff assisted us to get settled, offering umbrellas for the rain, assistance on getting around the Island, etc. The hotel even offers Onsen clothing and many other amenities for their guests! The hotel is conveniently located just steps from the ferry dock and the main streets to see the Tori Gate or the Itsukushima Shrine, the aquarium, to get to the Ropeway, trinket stores, ice cream stations, and so on. Our ocean room view had 2 oversized very comfy twin beds, a small couch, & desk. Loved the Toto Washlet in the toilet room! The bathtub while small was perfect for soaking after 5 hours of hiking. Lots of soft water and water pressure. The onsen (public bath) was just pure Heaven! :-) Sitting in the enclosed area in back of the hotel is just more of the escape and so worthwhile! :-)
Thankfully there was food available in the hotel (bakery, dinner, breakfast) because ALL food service in town STOPS AT 4:30pm! At least, it did while we were there. Our breakfast with Miyajima Villa was wonderful and very filling whether Japanese or American food.
High caution is advised if you plan to hike from the Ropeway, as we did. Trails are not well marked on all trails. However, the trail to the top of Mt Misen is well worthwhile! Hopefully, you are as fortunate as we were to see the Tori Gate at high & low tides as well as catching it at sunset, which brought out MANY PEOPLE. :-) :-) What a perfectly lovely island to spend some adventure time!

Beautiful island.
Beautiful island. Go early in the morning especialy if you want to climb the mountain. It's a pretty hard track, bu it's beautiful.
In the afthernoon it's to hot.
Lot of tourist in the afternoon and it's hard to have some dinner.
Stay there during the sunset: the shrine is beautiful!
We stayed as a family of four in a combination of western and japanese style room for one night and had the traditional japanese dinner and breakfast. The kids weren't keen on the japanese style dinner and breakfast, however that was my fault for not ordering the kids meal options. As adults, we found the food to be delicious and very well presented.
The room was spacious and clean and the beds were very comfortable.
The staff were amazing....they were very attentive and helpful. Highly recommend the Miyajima Grand Hotel.
Great Tradiational Japanese hotel, breakfast, and dinner included with the stay which is great om Miyajima Island, the food was truly amazing. Overall a great stay with great staff and gives you an opportunity to explore Miyajama Island after the tourist have left in the evening. There is also a shuttle service that takes you from the ferry station to the hotel. Hotels are also right outside the the Aquarium which was pretty cool.
The hotel is located right next to the ferry pier-seriously, just steps away. The hotel itself isn't special but it really is a great value, given the location. They were happy to keep my luggage before and after checkout, so I was able to spend time on Miyajima until sunset and go back for sunrise. While the room wasn't especially memorable, the facility was clean and the staff was friendly.
The view from my sea-facing room...gorgeous! Clean spacious room with all the generous amenities.
I love the hotel onsen...clean and not crowded at all during the separate day/time I visited.
The shuttle bus provided is definitely helpful.
Tho Aki Grand Hotel is definitely far from Hiroshima major sightseeing spots, it's perfect for Miyajima daytrip.
Amazing places like this need to be supported! A unique and wonderful classic hotel experience - full of atmosphere, a great traditional Japanese ryokan. The staff were incredible, even offering to collect our bags from the ferry early so we could explore Miyajima. As well as that, it has its own onsen on site! Cannot recommend this enough.
Dinner was phenomenal and they had a menu in english explaining each dish. There was also a beautiful note from our server welcoming us to the ryokan. The outdoor and indoor onsens were both amazing, the hotel is not that large and often I was the only person using the baths. We loved wearing the yukatas around the area. Beds were comfy
Location - right across the road from the ferries to/from Miyajimaguchi and Hiroshima Peace Park; very convenient for island sightseeing esp in the evening. Very generous dinner and breakfast buffets, excellent selection and quality. Friendly bar with happy hour. Public hot bath on the top floor was great.
Sakuraya is conveniently located on Miyajima. The room has a great view of the bay. The room was spacious compared to my hotel room by Hiroshima Station and includes a sitting area overlooking the bay.
If you are lucky you may see Yukimi-Chan, the local white tanuki. I saw her near the Miyajima Jinja.
The owner is very nice. He gave tips about the island & places to eat, and was always helpful.
The room was Japanese style looking out over the small village, shrines and ocean.
The location of the guesthouse is in a quiet area away from the main tourist zone, but still very easy to reach.
We chose this hotel for its proximity to the station and the ferry terminal. It was a good choice for our travel to the island of Miyajima. The room was a reasonable size, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed hamburgers in the cafe downstairs, and the breakfast buffet had a good selection.
Excellent breakfast and dinner; lots of courses. Although the property is dated and old but they kept it nice and clean. They have the pingpong table and karaoke room which kept us entertain at night the hotel locates on an island; not much to do at night.
Fantastic location, next to the ferry terminal and the main market area. The hotel is right infront of the sea, with a great view. The rooms were basic and spacious just what we needed for a one night stay in Miyajima. Great value for money.
I highly recommend staying here if you can make the time to stay in Miyajima. This was the most relaxing part of our two week trip. The food was incredible and the staff was so kind and helpful. It is a really beautiful hotel
Attentive kind staff who helped us navigate the island activities we wanted to engage in. Breakfast was the best we had in our trip at a ryokan ! Location of ryokan was excellent and central to exploring the island easily.
Location was perfect, only five minutes from the Torii, and close to the nicest areas in Miyajima.
Breakfast and dinner were simple, but very good.
Staff was super nice and helpful as well!
I fully enjoyed the Ryokan experience from sleeping on a traditional Japanese set up to wearing the provided kimono to an excellent dinner and breakfast. The location was unbeatable.
Was located in quiet area of the island. Very friendly staff and was a fun experience staying in a ryokan and experiencing traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast.
Location in a Miyajima, close to main interesting points, and the atmosphere of the hotel is great. Food is really authentic. Staff hospitality is superb.
