We were upgraded to a suite which was large and absolutely beautiful! The grounds were gorgeous, and it was fun to explore the inside of the Castle. The staff were very friendly and made every effort to ensure we enjoyed our stay, especially Daniella. Daniella went above and beyond to solve the issues with our castle suite.

Staff was extremely friendly. Love the idea of having a wine dispenser. Enjoyed their wine. Lovely location (although it was a tiny bit challenging to drive back up the hill after dark). Overall a fantastic experience.

Great private dinner at onsite restaurant. Ricardo took great care of us and prepared a special treat for us- he roasted chestnuts in a pan in the fireplace beside our table… delish!!
The tour of the wine cellar and tasting given by Juicie (sp?) was fantastic for our family. We learned a lot about the Chianti Classico and the region.

Exellent location, very cute rooms! Very flexible staff, even if we wouldn't make it on the agreed arrival time and the reception was closed, they did their best to accommodate us! I truly appreciate it!
The location was fantastic! You are completely surrounded by beauty.
The only problem I personally had was the heat... and I was unable to produce cross current ventilation in the downstairs area where my daughter slept on the sofa bed because of the lack of screens on the doors ....and you needed them because of mosquitoes and bees! Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay.

We loved it .
We loved it . We loved the staff , the wine and the breakfast was magnificent. The gardens were a dream and the kids enjoyed the pool . The restaurant on-site was expensive and the kids would have loved some more basic options . The room was clean and linen good however o feel that the accommodation could be upgraded some what . The staff went out of there way to help and the most friendly hotel staff we have come across in Italy .

The facility was just as advertised, rustic and authentic Tuscan accommodation. We were disappointed that we booked a separate villa with a kitchen unit and was given a suite instead with little explanation. Had a tub instead of a walk in shower and no place to make our own cooking which was one of the reasons we chose this property. Our room was sparse but comfortable but the heater in the sitting area was not working. The wifi was spotty and not reliable, same for mobile phone service. Staff was friendly and the countryside was remote but beautiful.

Gaiole is very much where the best wines are in Tuscany.
Gaiole is very much where the best wines are in Tuscany. The town itself is more of a very small village with not a great deal to see or do. There are a few decent restaurants but nothing great. Two banks with ATMs right in the middle of the village can be useful for travelers. One charges a small fee for withdrawals, the other doesn't. If you're there in October, like we were, there's an annual wine festival attended by all the vineyards in the area. This was a plus for us. One of the best things about Gaiole, though, is that it makes a great base for visiting the surrounding areas, including Sienna. Lots to see within an hours drive. And drives are absolutely spectacular, especially if you take your time and stop often.

A pretty town with lovely people!
A pretty town with lovely people! Easy to get around by car and many interesting activities to partake in e.g. wine tasting, picnic, hiking, or just relaxing in the grounds of one of the nearby Castellos e.g. Castello di Tornano.

Great place in the heart of Chianti region, pretty close to all atractions: Florence and San Giminiano- about one hour, Siena- half an hour, 15 minutes to the beautiful villages of Chianti: Radda, Castelina, Lecchi, Gaiole, Brolio… Car is mandatory, as the hotel is on a hill, surrounded by a forest. The room was nice, very clean, the breakfast very good, the staff very nice. A special appreciation for the restaurant - opened in the evening - with great local cuisine cooked by Petronela. The pool was also great, clean, quiet.
If you are looking for a calm country athmosphere in Tuscany, this is the right place. A little bit isolated from everywhere yet very clean (maybe the cleanest hotel i have ever been to!). The owners are great people and helpful, too. The lady has even a sommelier certificate, so a right person to talk about wine in the region. They serve a classical Italian breakfast with a good coffee and a very good fresh juice. (Be careful this juice is highly probiotic :D)
Simone and Alessio couldn’t have been more welcoming. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Simone recommended local restaurants and even gave my husband and I an itinerary of lesser known mountain villages that we spent the day visiting. The B&B is beautiful, impeccably decorated with a mixture of antiques and modern art. I highly recommend having dinner at their restaurant. It’s several courses, all of which are delicious!
The hotel is located in a small mountain village. The scenery here is beautiful. Sitting in the garden looking at the vineyards, walking in the village, very comfortable.
The hotel is well equipped, swimming pool, small restaurant with a small menu. Every employee is very enthusiastic. The house wine is not bad.The breakfast is very very good, especially the coffee and local salami.
A tranquil oasis overlooking the Vineyards of Chianti. Amazing infinity pool that truly gives a holiday feeling. Rooms and bed are very comfortable, decorated with typical tuscan charm. Self service bar was perfect to watch the sunset with a glass of Capanelle wine.
Despite its serene location, it is still very close to town and restaurants for dinner.
Beautiful breakfast spot on the veranda. We had the small attic room, with the most incredible views. We loved every minute of our stay here at Castello di Spaltenna.
Our first night we had dinner at the Michelin star restaurant at the hotel, which surprised us in every way. Incredible amuse bouche, food & wine - incredible service throughout.
The opportunity to stay in a 13th century castle was a rare and enjoyable experience. The views were truly breathtaking and we enjoyed the peace and serenity of the location. The staff at the reception desk provided recommendations for locals restaurants and booked them for us in advance. Overall a relaxing and memorable stay.
We had a fantastic time at this hotel! Every aspect exceeded our expectations. The room was comfortable and beautifully designed, the landscape was breathtaking, the swimming pool was refreshing, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Highly recommended!
Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Given the ancientness of the building – with is part of its undeniable charm - the room appointments and overall facilities were surprisingly modern. And, of course, the scenery in that area of Tuscany is breathtaking; like staying in a picture postcard of Italy.
Beautiful hotel in the middle of the forest!
Great staff.
Excellent breakfast.
DELICIOUS dinner (recommended by michelin guide), don't miss it!
Large and nice room with Netflix TV. Bathroom was large and convenient as well.
Parking is great.
Everything was perfect! Amazing views from this charming and spotless B&B; the bed was very comfortable, good shower and delicious breakfast with local products! Also, the super kind host recommended the best restaurant we've been in Tuscany.
This B&B is wonderful with really great service, delicious and expansive breakfast, very clean, very friendly staff. A great location just outside Gaiole in Chianti and with a pool and lots of outside space. Would stay here again absolutely!
The hotel is very well located in a splendid region, it is comfortable, clean, and has a beautiful small terrace-garden, where it is nice to take your breakfast or spend some relaxing time. The staff is very nice and the breakfast is good.
Perfect place in the hart of Tuscany.
Authentic preservation combined with relaxed modern comfort.
An island of peace and beauty. The room, the pool and the garden were excellent.
The hotel restaurant is highly recommended too.
Exellent location, very cute rooms! Very flexible staff, even if we wouldn't make it on the agreed arrival time and the reception was closed, they did their best to accommodate us! I truly appreciate it!
Staff was really friendly, the hotel is a very cool rustic property, very quiet and peaceful. Renovated bathrooms & comfortable beds. Breakfast was good. Parking was excellent.
We loved our stay and wish we could have stayed longer. The view is beautiful and the hotel is stunning, the daily breakfast was great. Highlight of our trip.
Very nice location, beautiful and calm in the middle of the Val of Chianti.
