Hotel in Greve in Chianti
Hotel Giovanni da Verrazzano overlooks the main square of Greve in Chianti, in the heart of the Chianti Classico wine region. It features a restaurant with terrace and free Wi-Fi. The hotel is placed in the heart of Greve, on the central square. On the left is a pasticeria, on the right under the ceiling is a nest with small chicks :) All around is a celebration of life. By the way, every Saturday Greve Square turns into a market for half a day (they sell clothes, hats and something else). The hotel is colorful and lively. I loved the breakfast on the terrace overlooking the square. Everything was fresh, tasty and varied. At night it is pleasant to fall asleep with sounds of conversations and laughter of Italians, although you can close the shutters and find yourself in silence and darkness. Enjoy your stay here!

Greve is a great small town and the people are fantastic!! so many fabulous restaurants to eat at and shop and the perfect location to visit a thousand wineries!! the landscape is gorgeous and it is so easy to get around, you definitely need a car but everything is so close to get to and you can still do great day trips to farther towns! We have been visiting Greve for over 15 years and it is always our home base for our first week in Italy every year!!
The apartment was upstairs, not so good for seniors, the bathrooms were far from the room. There was not enough towels for a week stay. The internet was not always working and phone reception was bad. It was a very dusty road to get there and it was a little far from town to walk. Loved the little town of Pansano and some of the other little towns close by, but a must to have your own car. We could not sit out because of the mosquitos. Communication with the host was not good after the initial meeting. They had no coffee for the guests. We loved the area, but would not stay at this apartment again, we are seniors and it was not a pleasant stay for a week.
Greve is a great place to visit, so much to see and do in close proximity to the town. A short drive away was Siena, wineries, walks and so much more. I wished we knew more about the town and area before we stayed there. It is definitely on the list of places to revisit and to explore the area.
Both the underground wine tasting venue, and the Pizzeria La Cantina (both a short walking distance from B&B Grano e Lavanda) which Luca recommended, were excellent! Likewise exploring the main square and the hillside town of Montefioralle were great suggestions.
A beautiful and charming village. There was a Co-op supermarket for all your needs. Lots of cafes and restaurants and shops. Alessandro’s was our favourite restaurant - complimentary drink before and after and great value good food! Great Saturday market. You can walk up to gorgeous village of Montefioralle. Our host Elenor gave us a lift up as it’s steep but we loved the fabulous walk back down.
Greve in Chianti is a small quiet town with only eating and drinking available. The shops are beautiful along with the church. Went on my honeymoon 18 years ago and returned with my son. Love the area, can't wait to return once more.
Greve in Chianti
It is a genuine village house with all the necessary amenities. A traditional living room, two bedrooms (one large and one small with bunk beds) for a whole family, and a small garden for breakfast or afternoon rest The accommodation does not offer breakfast ... BUT in the fridge and the kitchen cupboard there were jams, juices, cakes, cookies, milk, coffee, (and espresso machine). tea, etc. The old medieval village is amazing, and the nearby local restaurant KASTELANA the best of the wider area
Greve in Chianti
We had the warmest welcome from Gabrielle...served us cappuccinos, visited, gave us the 'lay of the land'. We were in Italy for 3 weeks - Tuscany, Rome and Cinque Terre and Anna's homemade breakfast's were by far the most delicious of the entire trip. She was so lovely to visit with each morning. Our bed was amazingly comfortable - and I'm a picky sleeper! Just a wonderful experience overall!
Greve in Chianti
Our stay at Savignola was spectacular! We were blown away by the beautiful scenery and grounds, the kindness and expertise of the hosts and staff, the incredible wine, the top-notch accommodations, and the list goes on. It was a magical place and made for one of the best vacations. We hope to return and bring the rest of our family because everybody should get to experience the wonders of Savignola.
We loved all the amenities that this property offers. The concierge was super helpful and willing to make a few different calls to fit us in to a wine tasting. Breakfast was delicious and the staff was just as amazing!! you can not forgot about the pool and views that are just unforgettable. the location is close to near towns for dinner and drinks. AC and bed was super tastings!
Greve in Chianti
The host was very nice and helpful. The apartment was large. The outside common area was nice with a BBQ grill. The pool looked nice too but it was too cold to use it. WIFI was great! There was a free washer to use as well which was a great perk! Nice quiet location above Greve in Chianti and it was only a 5 minutes drive to the main town.
Greve in Chianti
We arrived lste due to getting lost and the Donna was extremely helpful in showing us everything we needed. The apartment is perfectly set up with all kitchen needs, linen and towels. The setting is beautiful looking out onto the Tuscany countryside and as we had a car transport to Florence by car and bus was easy.

We had a perfect time at Suite Greve in Chianti. The room was modern, big and very clean. Shara was communicative and always easy to reach, and even helped us make reservations for dinner and a wine tour. Breakfast is also very good every morning, waking up to the nice square in Greve.
This is a beautiful property just outside Greve with sweeping 360 degree views of the Tuscan countryside, olive trees and vines. You’ll think it was a dream. The room was lovely and swimming pool was amazing. Dinner at the hotel was great, too.

Beautiful location in the heart of Tuscany! Staff was incredibly helpful in setting us up with electric bikes to explore the surrounding wineries and took extra care to make sure everything was set up for us.
We have stayed repeatedly at this property for the Greve Wine Festival. It achieves all the quality needs that one requires when staying in Tuscany. The farm road is a challenge.
