A great base to discover Tuscany, this new, 4-star hotel relais Cappuccina offers an excellent location, with stunning views of the medieval city of San Gimignano, 0.9 mi away. We had the perfect holiday at Cappuccina! The room was big, clean and everything we needed. The staff was polite and nice and very welcoming. The pool was well organized (too bad for some guests) and the restaurant had great food. One of the best breakfasts I had lately. San Gimignano is walking distance (maybe 20minutes) but this area can be enjoyed a lot more if you have a car.

Many families visiting San Gimignano loved staying at Torciano Hotel Vecchio Asilo, Hotel Pescille, and Hotel Sovestro.
I wanted to use one day for both S. G. and Volterra. However, it's needlessly complicated to get to Volterra by bus (two to three hours though it would be just 30 minutes by car). Plus, all the sights opening hours start at 10 am. So I stayed here the whole day and it was perfect. There is a church of S. Agostino which as the only exception opens earlier so I started there. Then I visited other sights, had the best gelato in my life (flavours like shafran, chestnut etc.) and spend the afternoon on the pleasant countryside walk - there is a route that goes a big half-circle around the town and gives you amazing views both at town and the country.
Loved the old world feeling of the city within the walls. Nice amount of shops, restaurants, gelato shops and places to grab a coffee. You should reserve 1 whole day to walk around. Make time to walk around in the evening, so beautiful. I recommend the Tenuta Torciano Winery which is only 15 mins outside the village walls. We truly enjoyed our tour and wine tasting experience there and plan on coming back. They also do truffle hunting!
Beautiful town especially for foodies. Pasticceria Armando y Marcella for Tuscan pastries and Bar le Torri for good pasta. Thursday market for cheeses and salami and cooked meats. Walk from here to Sienna on the Via Francigena. It's like walking through heaven's garden. It will take 2 days!
This city is a must stop when visiting Tuscany. We booked a cooking and winery tour at Casa Emma and just didn't want to leave. We cooked our own pasta (from scratch!), Tiramisu and drank the most wonderful wine you could imagine. San Gimignano is a lovely city with a lot of history; our 7 years old son just loved it; it is a must to visit!
San Gimignano is a small medieval village that is just beautiful! The streets are picturesque and the town squares make you feel like you've gone back in time. Lovely little terraces too with great offers for typical Italian food and a lot of wine and delicatesse shops. I wouldn't recommend the parking lots that are next to the city gate as it is a very tight squeeze. If you drive a little further down the hill opposite of the square before the town gate, you can find a parking lot with a bit more space.
A lovely Tuscan town with plenty to see, art, architecture, lots of eating places, beautiful countryside nearby, but it does get crowded, as it’s so popular, it’s a victim of its own prettiness! The town is on a hill, so lots of up and down, steps etc, so be prepared. The usual tourist shops, but plenty of good souvenirs too, and not too many of them. Climb up on the walls at the Rocca to see views, and climb 218 steps of the tallest tower to see excellent views of San Gimignano. Very good restaurant Vecchie Mura almost next door to the flat, we went twice. Also you must try the agriturismo Fattoria Poggio Allora, just 5km out of town, for an amazing dining experience, but don’t go if you’re a vegetarian!
We had an amazing stay at this beautiful, stylish hotel full of character and history! Our room (for 3 people) was very spacious - we had also a sitting area (with two armchairs) with an amazing view on the hills of San Gimignano - besides another gorgeous view on the Piazza della Cisterna. Room and bathroom were very clean and air conditioning was working well. Stuff was kind and friendly. We enjoyed very much the good breakfast sitting on the internal patio / terrace located on the first floor. We would like to go back!
San Gimignano
Umberto and his lovely wife were fantastic hosts! As soon as we stepped onto the property we were greeted with glasses of wine while we waited for our room. We then wandered the property and did a little olive oil and wine tasting and enjoyed a lovely meal in the nearby town. It was a very quiet and relaxed day that was a perfect retreat during our fast-paced tour of Italy. This is a special place we will remember forever!
San Gimignano
Wonderful location within a short drive or long walk to San Gimignano. Incredibly peaceful and beautiful spot. Enjoy a bottle of their Podere Montese wine on the terrace and enjoy the views! Comfortable and safe, also included a very nice breakfast with a number of options and coffee ordered to your liking. Owners and staff very friendly. Great road riding in the area and perfect base. Wonderful!
San Gimignano
great apartment in the heart of San Gimignano. Bonus was the ability to use their parking garage spot for a small fee. (less than 24hr parking and secure) Host very accommodating to meet us upon arrival. Parking garage area a bit tricky to find but more our navigation errors. Very helpful to have a washing machine available to us at our midway point.
San Gimignano
The owner should be the mayor of San Gimignano. Barbara absolutely made our stay fantastic, booked us into restaurants and generally guided us through 4 days of the most wonderful stay. Our room was extremely comfortable and the blackout shutters helped us with 4 great nights sleep! And the cafe latte’s - wow! Book it.
After a lot of serpentines (we drove from Elba via Volterra) we arrived at the hotel and all we wanted was to rest. We could choose between two rooms and selected the one with view on San Gimignano. It was simply breathtaking. The towers, the soft slopping hills, amazing. That’s how you picture Tuscany.
San Gimignano
Cozy and rustic guest house in a peaceful location with amazing view in the tuscan countryside. Comfortable beds with high quality linen - we had the best sleep during our Italy trip! The host was very welcoming and kind! The breakfast is served in a basket at the time of your convenience - so cute!
Well located, just inside town walls and short walk from bus stop. Very nice comfortable room, Good breakfast in the beautifully situated restaurant. Hotel restaurant has floor to ceiling windows with divine views of the countryside beyond the walls of San Gimignano.
The room was spacious, and clean. The breakfast was plentiful. The views from the restaurant across San Gimignano are breathtaking. Both the spa and the pool were closed due to the current pandemic, however the hotel had lots of other entertainment to offer.
San Gimignano
Agriturismo Cesani was wonderful, sipping coffee/wine overlooking the vista of wine growing areas if Tuscany. Staff were superb and rooms lovely. Limited restaurants nearby but 15 min to San Gimignano and 30 min to Volterra. A lovely getaway
San Gimignano
Excellent location, overviewing the vineyards. You can watch the suns goes down, while sipping a glass of wine in the garden. Very friendly staff, exceptional breakfast - best "corneto"(croissant) eaten in Italy.
San Gimignano
just outside of San Gimignano...very charming hotel / b&b sorround by rolling hills and beautiful landscape. .breakfast was awesome and the room was very comfortable.
Great if you want to explore San Gimignano in the first half of the day and then come to the hotel to relax by the big pool; they also serve tasty food at the pool

San Gimignano
Beautiful grounds with a amazing view of San Gimignano. Excellent staff and breakfast
San Gimignano
This place was amazing. They treated us like family and were so wonderful and kind to our 3 and 4 year olds. The view. The pool. The food. The people. The wine. The olive oil. Our 4 person room was the perfect size for our little family. Every room had a view with spectacular sun sets. We have already told so many people about it, and we cannot wait to return ourselves. We also loved how everything there was organic. The whole property was so clean.
San Gimignano
The place is magical, it was the best place we ever visited during our trip to Italy. Perfect is an underestimated word to describe it, the place is beyond perfect, the staff, the food, the room, the location are all perfect. A special thanks to Diego and Pedro for their hospitality. We will definitely come back again.
San Gimignano
The location was magical. There are no words to describe seeing the towers of San Gimignano from amongst vineyards. The employees were extremely cheerful and kind. The food was really good. I would love to stay here for a longer period.
