Really beautiful and quiet location. The breakfast was also nice and the family that runs the hotel was also kind. The owner/manager was very kind to help me with my luggage up the stairs, but it is definitely easier here with light luggage :) If you are coming by train, make sure to ask about reaching the property by the back exit of train station to avoid taking large stairs to cross the town.

The old style decor and its quiet, peaceful location
Once Italy’s 2nd largest city-state, elegant Lucca remains an important town on any itinerary in beautiful Tuscany. Its instantly recognizable historic center is completely surrounded by Renaissance-era walls which offer a leisurely "passeggiata."
Tree-lined bastions overlook the surrounding modern town, but their low height means that the best photo opportunities of medieval Lucca are from Torre Guinigi. This tower topped with trees overlooks the rooftops below and lush mountains beyond.
The bell tower of San Frediano is even taller and stands back from the elaborate gold mosaic adorning the church’s façade. Equally interesting is Lucca Cathedral’s façade, where every column is unique. The church of San Michele in Foro is on the site of the Roman forum, and the Domus Romana excavations are of a house from a similar era.
Roman amphitheater remains also form foundation stones of the medieval houses, cafés and shops of oval-shaped Piazza Anfiteatro. More sidewalk restaurants line Piazza Napoleone, Lucca’s largest square, around the corner from San Giovanni church, home to a festival celebrating Puccini, the town’s most famous son. Unsurprisingly, music is a big thing here, and summer and winter festivals showcase genres other than just opera.
Booking.com’s range of Lucca accommodations includes apartments, B&Bs and 5-star hotels. Properties are available near the train station, and some include swimming pools and parking.
Lucca is really beautiful. A lovely place to visit for 1-2 days maximum. It's a really small town but with beautiful sites to see and lovely little streets with shops. Highly recommend you visit the amfiteatro, the main square and go down every little street you find.
When people come to visit I always suggest a stay in Lucca. It has a great vibe, walking or biking the wall is peaceful and enjoyable, great restaurants with traditional Tuscan food, beautiful cathedrals, nightly Puccini concerts! Many shops some of which have craftsman that sell their splendid leather or wool goods.
Loved Lucca and our accomodation was perfect for us. We were so close to all we wanted to see and do . I loved all the history and the beautiful Cathedrels, Music by Puccini and his home and the easy walking from beautiful gardens with 200 year old trees to lovely restaurants my favorite was Enoteca Tosca. So in all a lovely time for both of us.
Lucca is a city not for everyone. It is for people who want to "live" the life of an Italian. It is slow-paced, full of rich history, and wonderful people who will engage when they see you more than once. After visiting a wonderful restaurant in the amphitheater, we became good friends with a manager and have kept in touch for a few years now. Walking the 3-mile wall every day opened our eyes to a better way of life, a life we bring home with us. So, visit for a day with some tour group and miss what Lucca offers, or stop and stay awhile. I guarantee you won't be sorry!
A lovely walled city & generally worth a visit for a day. A bit too commercialised in places and you have a to be on your guard with regards to some establishments, they clearly see tourists as "cash cows". As long as you avoid some "tourist trap" restaurants and choose the ones the locals use, you will have a good time. The area around the train station has some undesirable characters, so you need to be aware and use some common sense in this area.
The apartment is beautiful, very spacious, and centrally located. The air conditioner did not work; however, we were sightseeing during the day and it was cool at night. David, our host, came back at 9:30 pm to fix the internet problem, called a taxi, and recommended restaurants. We loved staying in Lucca!!
Lucca
Very friendly host. The apartment has air conditioning and window nets against mosquitos (which is relatively rare in Italy). There was prepared a big basket of sweets and salty biscuits and fruits for breakfast, a coffee machine with capsules provided, as well as a dishwasher and washing machine. There is also a private parking slot in the garden and a terrasse. Lucca is a beautiful city, definitely worth to see. It is approx. 30 mins by car to a beach by sea. We highly recommend this apartment and location.
We knew this hotel was outside the walls of Lucca (we had a car and didn't want to risk staying inside the wall and driving through a ZTL) but were pleasantly surprised at how close it was to the wall itself, not much of a walk at all. Our first room was fine though a bit small, but they upgraded us to a larger room when it became available. The front desk staff were helpful throughout our stay, especially when we had a toll-road problem.
Lucca
What a memorable experience. Beautiful building and an amazing spacious room overlooking the gardens [room 7]. Very quiet, just off the main thoroughfare. The owner/ host was an utter gentleman giving sound advice for restaurants and bars. An added extra was a wonderful breakfast sitting outside in the garden. Lucca is an exceptional city and this boutique hotel adds only to its enjoyment. Wonderful.
Lucca
Everything about this B&B is perfect. The location is just outside Lucca, only 5 min to get inside the walls. The room is incredibly comfortable, you will sleep on the best bed & pillows in all of Italy! The room and B&B are really well decorated and feel very luxurious. The staff is also very helpful and make an amazing breakfast! This is a great property!
Charming and well appointed apartment with a stunning terrace and kitchen. Our family of four were very comfortable and appreciated the air conditioning during the heat wave. Market literally around the corner. Incredible restaurant across from the front door…Gigi’s best dinner we are in Italy!!
Beautiful modern renovation of a very old building in a perfect location in Lucca. The hotel had its own small garage connected to the hotel which was great for our rental car. The included breakfast was delicious and served to our table in an attractive dining room near the lobby.
Lucca
The location of the B&B is perfect. It's situated right in the center of the city, so you can reach everything easily on foot. The breakfast is exceptional for Italy. The host is super nice and prepares you a lovely cappuccino and eggs the way you like them.
Lucca

Location in the middle of the historic city centre was very good. The owner Mirko is very friendly and always willing to answer your questions and give recommendations for either Lucca or wherever you are traveling in Italy.

Lucca
The location inside the Lucca Walls, not far from Porta Elisa, was excellent. The ambience and liveability of Lucca is second to none in Italy. The apartment was comfortable and easy to access.
