We took the train from Rome to the SMN station and it was very convenient. We walked to the hotel from the station but there are buses and taxis as well. Neat and clean and central to almost everything you will want to do in a 1-3 day visit. The Church is adjacent and beautifully done.
Pretty cool, but not worth the money in my opinion. There are free churches that were more impressive. I would save this for the last day once you have pretty well seen everything else. Skipping it is no huge loss.
There are two Meridian lines (Gnomons) in this church to mark the days of the year. This lead to the new Gregorian Calendar in 1582. The Gnomon in the big church, Santa Maria del Fiore, is not open to the public.
The church is hallowed ground. Inspiring sanctuary. Sit in the pews & drinkit all in! The Uffizi museum was the true highlight of this trip with gorgeous works by daVinci, Rafael & incredible hellenistic statuary.
If you are attending Mass on Sunday's, the entrance is on the side closest to the bell tower entrance. And ladies need to cover shoulders and chest with scarf or wrap, otherwise you will be turned away. I had to buy one at the street vendor for 15€.
When you buy your ticket to visit the this cathedral. Do it in advance so you can make a reservation to go up into the dome. The bell tower is great and you don't need a reservation for that, but the dome is incredible.

The host, Gianluca was very nice and helpful. Beds are very comfortable, very clean place and location is awesome, 5 mins. walk to the Santa Maria Novella train station, and walking distance to most attractions, churches, shops, restaurants and public transportations. Very good leather shops (quality and prices). I will absolutely recommend Green Apartment to my family and friends. Gracious hosts ( Chiara and Gianluca), plus they have elevator in the building. Thanks, Carmen Cooper

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION! Right next to the Duomo in Florence. BIGGEST room we had out of the 4 hotels we stayed at in Italy. Loved the modern decor. Mini Fridge was awesome and the price for water, Fanta etc was same price as in store or restaurant. The bathroom was clean and modern. English channels on the tv which was cool. Absolutely one of my favorite places we stayed in Italy. 12ish minute walk from Firenze Santa Maria Novella train station. Plenty of restaurants around.

The apartment is well located and is in a safe area. It's about 10 minute-walk from the Santa Maria Novella train station and the Santa Maria Novella Church. You can walk to the Florence historic old town and visit the Duomo Cathedral, Piazza della Signoria, Uffizi gallery, Ponte Vecchi, and other sights in Florence. The apartment is very clean. The breakfast (included in the room price) is superb. The manager, Andreas, is very kind. I recommend this place.

This place gives you an excellent location, close walkable proximity to EVERYTHING you ever wanted to see in Florence, comfortable beds, clean rooms...not fancy but who spends time in the room when visiting Florence? The staff was helpful and the breakfast was WAY better than when we stayed at a more expensive hotel near the Santa Maria Novella Train Station one evening. That room was twice the price, the beds were hard and the breakfast was not good.

Great atmosphere: this is just all about Florence - beautiful appartments, very warm check-in and a present for our honey-moon. Great location, very close to Santa Maria Novella train station, but you better not use Google Maps - hotel administration at the reception will tell much shorter way. Luggage storing was just a Great bonus, we're so much thankful for this!

Elena is most prompt to all the text messages and helpful in helping us get around the city. Love the apartment. It's newly furnished, everything is fairly new and clean and comfortable. Located about 15min (to walk) to Santa Maria novella area and city centre. But there's a bus stop just around the corner which takes us to the centre.

The hotel is near Firenze Santa Maria Novella, Galleria degli Uffizi, Ponte Vecchia and Mercato Centrale. The elevator is good. The window of the room can be opened. The staff is helpful in sightseeing information.

The staff was friendly and courteous, the rooms clean and comfortable, the breakfast buffet was delicious. The hotel was convenient to the Ponte Vecchio, restaurants, shopping, and Santa Maria Novella Train station.

Good location. Not far from the river and Santa Maria Novella Cathedral. Apartment in the older building added to the Florence experience. Great access to old part of the city.

We loved this hotel! Very modern, elegant and comfortable. In the Piazza Santa Maria Novella where we have stayed before - but this was the best! We'll be back.
