Loved this hostel. The couple that runs this place are amazing people. They were very accommodating and were very patient when I tried to speak some Japanese with them. This place is a good alternative to staying in Osaka, as osaka hotels can be expensive and booked up. If we return to Osaka area, we will 100% stay here again. Beds are comfortable, very spacious dorms, kitchen has everything you need to cook, and plenty of bathrooms and showers. Enjoyed our stay very much

Located a 5-minute walk from JR Kobe Station, Hostel Nakamura Kobe offers female-only and mixed dormitory rooms, 24-hour shower rooms, a shared kitchen and a sun terrace. Kosokukobe Station is 4-minute walk, while Shinkaichi Station is a 7-minute walk from the property.

I stayed from 20-25 Sep 2023. Level 1 - common area with bar counter seats, cosy corners to laze around, sofas and basically many types of seatings to choose from. You could work there, have complimentary Japanese and English tea and coffee. Level 2 - rooms for female dorm and mixed dorm, dedicated female toilet n sink next to the room. Keep your shoes on this level in exchange for indoors slippers. Level 3 - another dorm + shower rooms n toilets. Level 4 - rooftop outdoors area. Location - it’s within a 5mins walk despite me with my heavy 60L backpack + a flimsy heavy cabin size lugagge + 2L bottle, while checking on my google map 🗺️. There’s family mart and Lawson just within 1-2mins outside the hostel. Moreover, I really enjoyed the little izakaya 🏮 all around the hostel, in just less than 3 mins. There’s a Life supermarket/ departmental store just 5 mins away. At the Vierra Exit of Kobe station, there’s Kohyo supermarket as well as mister donut. There’s a lot of housing around the area and you can see the locals coming back from school and work, housewives too. A glimpse of the Japanese life! Wi-Fi - stable and strong in all parts of the hostel Showers - Good strong water pressure with hot water throughout the shower Staff - Speaks good command of English, they are of Japanese, Brazilian, African, etc nationalities. Capsule - wide and tall enough for a 1.65m person. I can sit upright without having to worry about banging my head or elbows and stretch my legs all about. Has 2 electricity outlet, where 1 is used for the lights. There’s also a wooden box with a password lock for you to keep your valuables. In room, there’s a chain with keypad lock that you can use to lock your luggage to the railing too. Hangers are available in the room, as well as in-capsule, there’s 2 available hangers for use. The hostel is accessible all by stairs. It isn’t too bad I feel. If you check-in before 9pm, the staff are around to help you carry your luggage up the stairs.

Hostel Yume-Nomad is located under a 5-minute walk from Shinkaichi and Minatogawa subway stations. The hostel offers both private and dormitory-style rooms as well as free WiFi in all areas. Bicycle rental is available at a fee.

Everything about this place. The atmosphere was very soothing. The location was close to Kobe Station and easy enough to get to Shin-Kobe Station from here. I felt the room was big enough for me and the other person sometimes residing there.

Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.

Great hostel location right in China town and a walking distance from Sannomiya. Second time staying there as it’s great on a budget and for one night. Female only dorms offered so I felt safe. Clean toilets and showers. Mirror in the dorm area which is useful.

Perfect choice for a short trip if you need to get by for a couple of days. Very cheap, a few minutes from Sannomiya station, clean, cozy, nice kitchen, friendly staff, comfortable beds with soft blankets and pillows, hot water in the shower, hairdryer, hangers, good wi-fi... overall, 10/10 for a hostel.

This place is for well mannered backpackers and not for selfish backpackers. For the price I paid, I definitely can't complain about the service I received. But the free breakfast was a nice surprise. Coffee was always available as well. The staff was easy to spend time with, they explained everything well at check-in and kept a reasonable distance after check-in. (Because in other hostels, some people talk to me too much)

It’s a guest house/hostel so of course your expectations should be set with that in mind. It was clean, interesting, good location, and the staff member was really kind. Compared to other hostels I’ve stayed in, the beds were very quiet. I’m a light sleeper so I was thankful for that. The bed was similar to a futon, which I prefer because it is what I sleep on in my apartment in Japan. I also felt safe as a solo female traveler. I recommend this place. If I go back to Kobe I’ll definitely stay again.

Great value for the money. It's a hostel so don't expect a luxury hotel experience. We stayed in a private room with a bunk bed. The bed was so comfy. The staff was friendly. It has a kitchen area and in the morning they provide bread and butter for free. They have a good system established which suits well for a hostel. We can also keep our baggages before and after we checkout in their storage area.

The hostel is a 5 minute walk from Shin-Kobe Station which was very handy for us. The area is very quiet with a Family Mart literally around the corner. The room was quite large and the bunk beds were very sturdy and comfy. The onigiri breakfast each morning was a lovely touch. Each of the ladies we met working there were incredibly kind and welcoming. The shared toilets and showers were spotless.

As a solo traveller on a budget, this guest house was perfect. It was easily accessible and the amenities were a lovely surprise! I had a nice warm welcome upon arrival and the female dormitory felt like a very safe space.

The beds in the dormitory are suuuper comfortable, the sound of the waterfall outside is gentle and non-invasive (for most people, I think), the small common room area is comfortable and clean, and the cafe attached to the hostel serves an absolutely lovely breakfast! This place is easily the cheapest AND best option to stay in all of Arima Onsen, so there's no reason to hesitate :)
