FAQs about hotels in Innsbruck

Ski Resort of Royal Splendor

Set against the spectacular backdrop of the Alps, Innsbruck is not only a world-class European ski resort, it was also the seat of Maximilian I’s Holy Roman Empire.

This imperial legacy has left its mark, most notably in the Old Town where beautiful Rococo buildings sit beside pastel facades and typically Tyrolean, flower-adorned windows. The visitable Hofburg imperial court owes its modern appearance to the 18th-century Empress Maria Theresia.

The Hofkirche has a memorial tomb for Maximilian I, and his life is depicted in frescoes on the Goldenes Dachl (Golden Roof) nearby, named after the gleaming copper tiles lining its entrance.

Flying into Innsbruck Airport, it’s easy to see why the city was so highly regarded. Practically every street ends with a view of the Alps, lush in summer, snowy white in winter. Nestled on a slope, Schloss Ambras was once the residence of Archduke Ferdinand II, and the area provides opportunities for summer mountain climbing, hiking and golf.

In the winter, of course, it’s all about the fantastic Innsbruck skiing and snowboarding. Ski areas include Nordkette mountain, accessible by cable car and chairlifts near the town’s hotels and B&Bs on Booking.com. Its varied slopes mean that several international competitions are held here, as well as the Bergiselschanze ski jump contest. The après-ski is laid-back and centered around chalet-style bars and traditional restaurants.

This is a beautiful town with charm and extremely friendly and kind citizens. The old town is wonderful, and the mountain cable car is a must. There is history and interest around every street. The museum of bells is full of exhibits you can get your hands on and well worth the ride or walk out of town.

the hotel location is the best option if you prefer staying close to the station and mind you that we did not even hear a single Nosie of the trains for the time we spent in the room mode of transport was the best as everything was just right outside the hotel. there is no electric kettle, fridge or complimentary tea coffee etc.. so please take note of these.

    Innsbruck is a lovely city.

Innsbruck is a lovely city. Streets are clean and the mountains are almost always visible. However ... except for the people who work with the public, the regular person on the street is not friendly. Lots of long faces to be seen. It could just be me and the person I travel with but we are both outgoing, friendly people. The feelings were definitely not reciprocated.

The Old Town and the Nature surtoundings is why you should come. The rest of the town is ordinary. There are a lot of charme in Die Alte Stadt . The Hop on and Off bus is a waste of money. If you stay 3 night you get a Card to ride public transport for free, that includes the STB TRAM going up fx to Mutters. And it includes a free ride with a vable Car to a Mountain.

Stift Wilten was beautiful, and so were the other churches.

Stift Wilten was beautiful, and so were the other churches. I went up to Seegrube which was super worth it. If I had more time, I would have gone right up to the Hafelekar and have gone hiking at each stop (Hafelekar, Seegrube and Hungerberg). I regret not waiting for the Bell Museum to open, and that some museums were closed for renovation. Hope to go back some day. :)

The location was perfect, near the train station and within walking distance to the city centre. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable and cozy. The bar on the 13th floor was lovely. Also, a good thing about the hotel was that even though our room faced the train station it was not loud at all. We had a good time so I would recommend Motel One Innsbruck, especially for a short stay!
