FAQs about hotels in Vienna

Waltz Through the Pretty Streets of Vienna

Previously the center of the Hapsburg Empire, Vienna is the current center of Austria’s culture, economics, and politics. Visitors may think they are in a museum as they walk through the historic first district, but Vienna also has a youthful and dynamic side with lots to offer.

St Stephens Cathedral in the Inner-City is surrounded by the Ring Road, with grandiose buildings like City Hall, the Austrian Parliament, the State Opera House and the Burgtheater. Enjoy the city where amazing musicians like Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, and Mahler once lived. If you’'re visiting during the carnival season, practice your waltzing skills at one of Vienna’s 200 glamorous annual balls.

Visitors can wander around beautiful park grounds in the Wiener Prater and Schonbrunn Palace provides imperial and extravagant grounds to stroll through. After exploring, eat with the locals by enjoying famous sandwiches at Trzesniewski, a Wiener Schnitzel at Cafe Central or taste traditional wines at the city’s many Viennese pubs.

Vienna International Airport is the doorway to the heart of Vienna. Booking.com has luxury hotels, charming bed & breakfasts and modern apartments to meet any accommodation needs for your stay in Austria’s capital.

It is a quite renovated city.

It is a quite renovated city. Most of the local shops have English as common language. Also there are quite alot Turkish language users. They have most of the German culture also. Places are clean and shiny. Many EU countries, cars on road give priority for pedestrian to walk on crosswalk, but at Vienna drivers do not let you, they drove a bit fast than expected. Transportation is amazing, There are lots of alternatives to every distance. You can use OBB instead CAT to pay less for transportation to Airport. Prices is are ok not that expensive even for a non-EU citizen. It would be better if landlord where you stay can explain transportation at first day. Some times because of too much options, you can confuse which is better to travel with. It is better to use local applications for transportation planning and for buying tickets. Also many automated ticket machines on every station, you can just use your credit card without any doubt. For us it was quite enough to stay 2 nights for Vienna and Prater visit. If you can stay more you can experience better of course.

There is so much to see, and not enough hours in a day.

There is so much to see, and not enough hours in a day. Wien is a wonderful city and I am amazed that I waited so long to visit it for the first time. I shall be coming back. It is very expensive, be warned about that! Museum entrances are not cheap but it is important that all this magnificent heritage be maintained so I am not complaining. But eating out is definitely on the expensive side, 35-30 euro for a good lunch or dinner and you could spend much more. All I can suggest is have breakfast at your hotel if it is a good price for a breakfast buffet, have lunch or dinner but not both, and buy snacks from the supermarkets and Turkish grocery shops. Sausages are great but you cannot eat too many in a week. Take some time to get to know the Wiener Linie, the public transport system. It is not easy to follow but once you are familiar with it, it is a very good friend to the traveller. Take care, there are pickpockets in U Bahn of all major European cities ; I have no sunglasses to prove it! Note also that weekly tickets do not start on the day you buy them, they start some days later, so be sure of what you are buying and if in doubt go to a Service Centre of Wiener Linie such as at Karlsplatz station where service is very polite. J Stroeck bakery in many U Bahn stations is really good for healthy snacks. The Wiener Staatsoper is magnificent, and if you are lucky you can buy a ticket from the authorised ticket sellers at a reduced price in the afternoon before 4pm , do be flexible about which opera production you attend. It is such a privilege to be there. Overall, I give Wien and its people nine out of ten for making me very happy and ready to come back.

Exceptional hotel in the city center of Vienna. The location is just amazing and the hotel is very elegant. When we arrived, without asking, we got an upgraded room free of charge. The room was very bright, spacious and charming. Plus, the view from the window is amazing and despite being in the city center it's very quiet. The hotel also offers breakfast for 25 EUR/person per day, which we didn't opt for. Nevertheless, it's an amazing place and it's really worth it.

I chose to stay near to the Vienna Train Station (but a little bit far from city centre) so that I could easily catch the train to the Vienna International Airport on the last day. I would say the hotel is considered very near to the train station - only 1 tram station away. You have to walk to the nearest tram stop which is Alfred-Adler-Straße and ride 1 stop to Hauptbahnhof Ost S stop and you could reach the platforms in Vienna Train Station very soon.

The rooms were clean and comfortable The hotel bar was equally perfect for a morning coffee before setting off, or for an evening drink after a long day of work or exploring. The location was even better than imagined - it's basically across the street from the Vienna main train station, but the D-tram can bring you to the city center in under ten minutes. Or, you can just walk the ~30 minute route, which takes you past the Belvedere and Karlskirche.

This is a great hotel in a good location in Vienna. You can walk into the centre (about 25 mins to Karlsplatz) but it is very easy to get the u banh wherever you need to go. The u banh is a few minutes walk away and takes you to both the city centre and Schonbrunn palace. We arrived in Vienna when it was snowing heavily, so it was great to have a nice, warm, big hotel room for all three of us. The breakfast is good, and staff are friendly and helpful, including in arranging airport transfers. There is a tram station about 100-200m away from the hotel, but traveling to the city centre takes about 15-20 minutes, and tram lines often break down, so plan your travel accordingly.

It's a perfect place for short stay in Vienna. Rooms are small but if you don't plan to spend more time in hotel, you don't need larger space. Bad are comfortable. Room is clean. Location is very good, close to city centre.

It's a great hotel with everything you need for a long stay: awesome view, friendly staff, and comfortable beds. The only drawback was the long distance from the city center. Regardless, the best place to stay in Vienna)

Location was great for anyone arriving in Vienna by train, direct tram connection to city centre. The hotel felt comfortably modern with lots of nice places to sit, inside and outside. Staff were very helpful.
