This is an absolutely 10 out of 10! Christiana and the rest of the staff go above and beyond to ensure that your stay is exceptional. They really do know the meaning of hospitality and we couldn't be more grateful for their attention and all of their guidance. We had an incredible stay thanks to them! When I return to Belize, I will DEFINITELY be coming back here!

Incredibly friendly staff that made us feel welcome and at home. They gave us perfect recommendations for stuff to do in the area. They even let us keep our rental car there an extra night while we went over to see Tikal. Very tasty Mexican themed restaurant we ate at 3/4 nights and for every breakfast. Drinks were also delicious. I highly recommend their signature margarita and pina coladas. The rooms were comfortable and included everything we needed. The pool was lovely after exploring in the heat. Definitely recommend staying here!

Staying at Rainforest was so splendid we did not want to leave! The rooms were so spacious and lovely. Everything was very clean and in perfect condition. The A/C was better than I expected, and the mattresses were so comfortable I slept like a baby. The location was perfect, walking distance to the market and restaurants. Shirley was such a wonderful and gracious host. The rooftop offers nice views of San Ignacio. I absolutely hope to visit the Rainforest Inn again and hopefully book a Marie Sharp cooking class next time!

Nice small city- nice people. Very close to Tikal in Guatemala- an excellent historic place to visit .
We hired a cab for all 3 days. A bit pricey but was extremely convenient and the owner/driver was super nice.

Good place to base with lots of activities close by. We didn't spend much time in the town itself as we stayed slightly out of town center so cannot comment on restaurants and such. Good street food. Good grocery shopping to stock up.

We spent 2 full days there.
We spent 2 full days there. The first day we went to the local Mayan ruins of Cahal Peche and Xanantunich and the second we went cave tubing with Bellizean Caving Expeditions. Both were amazing experiences. If we had an extra day we would have loved to see the Mayan city of Carocal which is further away from town.

If you're looking for quiet and remote, then this is your place. There isn't much to do here. Thank God for the Casinos. They gave me something other than staring at the hotel walls to do.
Visiting the Mayan ruins of Xunantunich, was great. But you definitely want to take the taxi from the ferry to the top of the hill, if you're not in good shape.
Just a little way up the road is a restaurant named Sweet & Sour. The food was very good. I just wasn't feeling the cow foot soup. Lol.
Although lots of advertisement says public transportation is available. However, unless you want to spend a small fortune, you absolutely need a car and a working cell phone for the GPS.
The people in Belize were very helpful and friendly. It was great that most of them spoke English. This was a huge plus.
The poverty here was heart breaking. I'm glad that I had an opportunity to visit. But I doubt that I will be going back any time soon.

The only thing that was horrific about this place was the hair braiding woman whose small shop is directly left from The Spot restaurant which is on the opposite side of the Venus hotel. The woman is violent. She gave us a big spill about how awful my daughters hair extensions were and that she would take it out and do it again. She said she would do it for 50USD. We accepted as she seemed like a nice lady but how wrong we were. She took the extensions out but then said she couldn’t remove the beads in my daughters hair and would need to leave them in. My daughter was horrified so I then had to bite every single one of them out myself. She then cut a three inch chunk of my daughters hair which is right on the crown. We told her we didn’t want her doing it and she bullied us to carry on. She then side platted my daughters natural hair and made a huge plaitted bump and then sowed the hair into the plait leaving a huge surplus of the hair extensions hanging. My daughter was so distraught and started crying and begged her to stop. She then took a 12 inch kitchen knife from her handbag and pepper spray on her key ring and said we must giver her the money. It was such a scary experience. Please please avoid this woman at all costs. We then complained to authorities whom explained she was mentally unstable. They wanted us to file a police report to have her arrested but we just wanted to leave the area.

Easy to navigate on foot.
The market is a must see for especially the food that is available throughout the day.
Just like any other place, be careful at night time when walking downtown. We did feel very safe.
Have bug repellents ready at night.
I absolutely loved EVERYTHING about my stay at Yellow Belly! The beds were some of the most comfortable during my backpacking trip in any hostel I have ever stayed in. I loved that each bed also came with its own personal bed fan which allows everyone to individually control their temperatures. The wifi and lounge area was perfect for me to complete my remote work and the wifi was the best from any hostel I have stayed in throughout Belize,
Best place we have stayed in. Best customer service ever..staff and owner are so nice, friendly and helpful. Sort it out everything for us, the atm caves with an amazing guide, our pcr test as we were heading to guatemala and a way to get there, nevermind it was so convenient and easy, it was also the cheapest..just cant thank them enough. Loved our stay and i could not recomend it more, simply the best
San Ignacio is a interesting and underdeveloped city that attracts mostly backpackers and travelers. Tourists tend to stay at the expensive resorts on the outside of town. Martha’s guesthouse offers clean and necessary amenities with a great downtown location. It won’t be glamorous but it’s close to the Saturday market and downtown tour starting places. Plenty of restaurants in walking distance.
We loved staying here! The hotel is located a few steps from the bridge and really just under a five minute walk from the center of San Ignacio. The owner Mike is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Dont expect a modern hotel with loads of amenities and just be happy with a good bed, nice hot shower and a lot of tv channels. The little fridge and coffee maker were a bonus!
The views here are absolutely incredible! Villa Cayo is the perfect home base for seeing all that the Cayo District has to offer. The villas are beautifully decorated and have every kitchen amenity you'll need to make yourself at home. Virginia has created a very informative guide of the area and pointed us to some great stops we would have otherwise missed.
The location is perfect and gives excellent access to some of the best of inland Belize. We thoroughly enjoyed every single thing we ate--they did an awesome job with the food. All of the staff was extremely friendly and attentive. They are committed to taking care of you and accommodating your schedule. A simple, but very enjoyable place to stay.
Claudia & Frank have built an amazing oasis in the hills of the Cayo District. The food was some of the best we have ever had. Everything is locally sourced. The cabins were clean and well appointed.the pool was wonderful after a day of exploring. I highly recommend booking at Vanilla Hills!
This beautiful resort provided us with everything. The rooms were well appointed. The restaurant was superb with a beautiful setting of the waterfall. They pay attention to detail and the customer care was the best experience we had in Belize.
Excellent guest house with friendly and joyful staff, spacious rooms equipped with a fridge and a good AC. Located very centrally in San Ignacio with nice views from the rooftop. Free water provided. Good value!
the hotel is right in the center of San Ignacio and the best was the food and the staff! we felt like this was home, everyone was very friendly! recommended if you are staying in San Ignacio!
lunch by waterfalls, sounds with screen open window plan, Sam the farm to table gardener, mosquito coils and netting, stunning design, comp coffee/tea service
n/c, best bedding in Belize!
The property is in the wild; we had Howler monkies in the tree right outside our room two afternoons in a row! The pool was nice, but the awesome dinners every night were the best.
