The room was big and comfortable. The staff was super helpful and accommodating as well. The location of the hotel was also convenient to reach the airport and the water taxi.

The staff was very nice, and we were able to check in early.

We were surprised that the main part of the city was a bit 3rd-world -- but that was a lot of the charm of it. And all the people are NICE, and seem TOTALLY HAPPY, which makes it great to do things there! We didn't eat anywhere but our resort. If you buy any excursions, make SURE you know EXACTLY where you will meet and what time BEFORE you get into town! And definitely take a river cruise -- the BEST!

Belize city has a reputation that is not encouraging.
Belize city has a reputation that is not encouraging. Yet, I enjoy visiting the city as it has almost all that you can purchase in a North American City. There are areas that are considered "do not visit" zones but that is also characteristic of other cities. If you stay in the main part of the city you will be fine, but we should always be vigilant.

Belize is a good place. The people appear to be friendly.
Belize is a good place. The people appear to be friendly. Food is good.
It is a slow pact of life.
I do feel the government should actively start looking at how to support and protect the domestic animals such as the dogs and cats as there are many stray animals roaming around everywhere.
I also noticed dogs especially were tried up but in some cases I didn't see any drinking water basins supplied for them! As an animal lover I found this unacceptable.
There was a dog at Caye Caulker that was tried up with no food and water so I had to feed it. I went to inform the police and the police asked me- "What do I want him to do about it"?
I told him I wanted them to check it out as this is animal abuse as the dog was not being cared for. I told him I would check up at the police station later to find out what was done. He then said he would send a patrol out to investigate the situation.
When I got back the dog had been removed, I don't know what happened to the dog.
The man at the animal sanctuary said that lots of tourist come to tell him of these situation but he is full to capacity and unable to take any more animals. The government needs to do something as people can find this distressing and are hypersensitive these situation.

Not a bad place for a tropical capital, (not like San Jose, Costa Rica) but hot, hot, hot. Bad taxi problem, rediculous prices and decrepid cars. Museum ($7) open but all the Mayan artifacts in storage, perpetually apparently. Craft market near the harbour (outside the purpose built one for the cruise ships, now shut and depidated) worth a visit but only one or two stalls, none had sold anything in days we were told (highly believable with steep pricing necessary for elevated cost of living locally). Much poverty and relatively high crime rate, a cop on every corner very attentive to foreign visitors. 3 banks in main square close the ATMs regularly to avoid paying out.

Belize City is very commercial, industrial and rough around the edges at first glance but there are many things worth seeing in the area. Many of the residential neighborhoods are quaint and quiet. From Belize City, Altun Ha is just a short drive as well as The Baboon Sanctuary and the Belize Zoo. Smokeez Seaside Restaurant and Bar was our favorite spot, right on the water near the famous Belize Monument Sign”. If your up for really experiencing the culture of the country, you must spend a few days in Belize City.

Belize City itself is not much of an attraction.
Belize City itself is not much of an attraction. It is a good place to stay overnice before or after and international flight, prior to moving on to other places in the country. Taxis should be arranged by your hotel for airport pickups and departures. Waling around at night did not seem especially safe. We walked to dinner, before dark, and took taxis back to the hotel. Have your restaurant call the cab. No Uber
Everything at this location was fabulous! It was extremely clean, neat, and very nicely decorated. Our hostess, Angie, was outstanding! She was kind, thoughtful, and extremely helpful in every situation, where we needed help! She recommended restaurants, made sure our shuttle to Placencia was on time, and just lovely to visit with. The apartment had everything we needed, and more. It was so comfortable, warm, inviting, and we will stay there every time we are in Belize City! I cannot recommend this property, and Angie, enough!
Very short drive from BZE airport. A wonderful oasis of trees, shoreline, and amenities in a natural setting just outside the rather ugly/sketchy Belize City. Great value, friendly welcoming staff. A really neat property on the ocean and the river, with mangroves, palms, birds, lizards, and friendly pups. Pool was nice, and free kayak use was a great perk. Onsite restaurant was able to provide gluten-free for one celiac in our group. Also staff was helpful arranging airport shuttle and SUV rental for us.
If you want to explore the real local life of the city, this is the place to be in the southern part of Belize City. From here you can easily walk to the stores and small restaurants around. Nevertheless, you can easily walk across the bridge to the more touristy northern part. The entire house has been personally renovated and lovingly decorated by the owners, you will not missing anything. They are very friendly and helpful and try to make your stay a great experience.
The property was located on an island which was super exciting for the kids to cross on the boat to get to and from the hotel. The rooms were individual rooms on stilts with an enclosed balcony with mosquito nets and hammocks. The location was fantastic, the rooms were very spacious, even for a family of 5, and there was a kitchenette too. The staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating!
I don't think there are a lot of decent hotels in Belize City, so we felt this one was decent (although overpriced for what you get). Pool area looked nice but we didn't go in. Restaurant was decent. Bed super comfy. Some nice last-minute finds in the gift shop that were reasonably priced. Nice having drinks and snacks available for purchase for the room. Clean.
Friendly, helpful staff (Alisa [I hope I spelled this right] was great in answering my questions and dealing with my travel issues due to delayed/cancelled flights); clean, well-kept rooms; close to a few restaurants and shops; air-conditioner worked well which is good considering how hot Belize City is; located in a quiet neighbourhood
The hotel staff was really nice for my pleasant stay in the facility. They facilitated my necessary communications for a meeting and touristic visit in Belize during my stay in the facility in the absence of my mobile connection. It was comfortable to stay this accommodation as the staff also kept the room clean.
Close to the ocean. Close to the airport. Super friendly staff. The beach houses are amazing. Boat tours available (hotel has his own boat, starting from there). Good WIFI everywhere on the resort.
Transport service available and recommended (15 minutes to Belize city)
The oeople are nice.
But the Booking.com made it very expensive.
More than the Best Western in Belize City
The 20 stairs has a large railing; they could add a hand sized railing would be nice for older people like me to hold on while carefully going up the stairs.
Françoise and her staff were amazing! Villa Boscardi is our new "go to" place to stay in Belize City. The beds are so comfortable and the neighborhood is safe with a great restaurant one half block from the house. Don't hesitate, book your stay here!
The daily breakfast delivered to the apartment was a bonus. Remote gate entrance and number keypad entry to the apartment provided a sense of security. The hotel was well-lit, which made it easy to find when navigating the dark road at night.
We stayed in Belize City for a night with Angie and it was very comfortable. The apartment was large, clean, quiet and well air conditioned. From the welcome to the checkout everything was smooth. We can highly recommend!
This establishment is awesome. I had a very great time at this apartment. The host was exceptionally professional. Instructions were 💯. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that is traveling to Belize City.
The rooms were large and clean with nice views of the ocean. The food in the restaurant was good. The staff at the hotel were very helpful in finding us a taxi driver as well as a certified tour guide.
The room was super cozy, perfect for a couple. The shower was probably the best that actually had good water pressure compared to the other hotels we stayed at.
