A simple and cute as a button. Air worked great. 2 minute walk to beach. Not fancy or luxury. Just laid back with everything you need

The food and people are so nice! Queen beans was amazing for breakfast, Katz coffee for coffee and waffles. JJ’s was our favorite spot for lunch and dinner: good food and prices. Other places were good too but much pricier for similar food. We drive around town bc we had a 1yo but I can see it being a nice walk.

Hopkins is a linear village maybe 7 miles long paralleling the sea. There are some high end resorts but local guest rooms predominate. Residents never failed to assist us in finding taxis, food stores or support services. The food was excellent whether it was consumed in a resturant, local bar or kitchen hut. Bicycles are very helpful in getting around. We found a really nice mix of folks. Don't miss the Garifuna music and food.

Hopkins is a small, rural town - one paved road that goes the length of the town plus a few unpaved roads. So, if you are looking for a small beach town with very friendly people, Hopkins may be for you. There is a good grocery store and several good dining options. Hopkins was a great home base for us for a few days as we explored a couple national parks in the area.

Peaceful, out of the way.
Peaceful, out of the way. Needed to rent a golf cart for greater variety of dining and grocery shopping but that is what our family likes. Very low key place. People are very kind and friendly. Quiet place to relax and enjoy the beach.

Hopkins Bay Smoky Bar & Grill (Barbara and Richard) were super kind! Maxim's gave us great deals too. Ella's and Driftwood were popular spots. Nice Cream was delicious. Rhum Shack at the resort were delicious. We could walk everywhere! We rented a car to get from BZE to Hopkins, which helped a lot so we could travel to other places.
Loot at Erik and Luis' Maayan Ruin/Cave Tubing on Viator (1:30 hour drive). I suggest Seahorse Dive Shop about 1:20 hours away for scuba diving/snorkeling, too.

The helpful and friendly staff made our stay enjoyable.
The helpful and friendly staff made our stay enjoyable. We always looked forward to the fresh catch of the day for dinner, especially the lobster Thermidor. My wife and I liked the closeness to the beach and pool and the size of the complex which was only 19 three unit buildings, and the ratio or staff to guests. We went on two excursions, one to the Mayan ruins and one horseback riding in the rain forest. Both were well worth the trip.
The room was impeccable, the bed was comfortable, multiple fans in the room including a remote controlled oscillating fan as well as bedside ones. The hostel owner Emma is an incredible human being and great host. The rooftop chill out area is an amazing shared space with free water and a fridge and communal general items like sunblock and insect repellant. The shower in my room was good enough to write home about. This hostel attracts polite and openminded hostel guests. It was honestly the best place I stayed in my entire time in Belize. A+
Clean, comfortable, well equipped, hot shower, spacious bedroom (Room 1). Our host Christie could not have been more attentive, and on the occasion that she was off duty, the housekeeper lady was very helpful. Local Mayan cocoa farm Che'il (where Prince William and Kate visited) accessible by local bus - highly recommended. Enjoyed Thongs Cafe on seafront. Cycled to Rhum Bar at Hopkins Bay Resort (north) and enjoyed drinks/eats at reasonable prices. Super bakery - bright pink door, on the way out of town south.
Great location, laid back atmosphere and friendly helpful staff. There is a local bread truck and a fruit truck that stops by at different times each day with fresh fruit, bread and pastries that are delicious and affordable. A short walk across the street and you are at the beach. If you are looking for a place that is a bit off the beaten path to give you a genuine Hopkins experience at a reasonable price this is your place. We stayed 4 nights and could have used a few more.
We loved everything about this resort! The staff were so friendly and helpful, really appreciated the tour of the resort when you check in. The grounds are beautiful and the beach is amazing! Resort is clean, even has a washer/dyer in the room (which was very helpful). Enjoyed our stay. Great location, quiet but still close to the village. We'd definitely go back again!
The manager Peggy was so helpful and kind. We had one of the hut rooms which was great, a good size with a little compact kitchenette area, desk to work at (Wi-Fi was great) and comfy bed. The location was a 20 min walk to Hopkins but there’s also restaurants within a minutes walk from the guesthouse including a really great philipino restaurant next door but one.
Very comfortable apartment and loved that it was on the beach. Beautiful views and very quiet. We had a 2BR unit that had a well stocked kitchen. The management was quite gracious and provided great dining and shopping suggestions. They also arranged for a masseuse to come to our unit. My husband said it was about the best massage he’s ever had.
It was great! The staff was lovely, quick, and helpful. The food was excellent. The facility was beautiful and in a great location. The beach and pools were amazing, plus free kayaks and paddle boards! The locals in town were awesome, too. Try the Rhum Shack at the resort, and Hopkins Smoky Bar & Grill about 0.5 miles away. Maxim's was also great.
Got a massage for me and my mom and we were more than satisfied! One of the best we ever got! Was super relaxing! Not far from the beachside with the wind blowing and soft tranquil melody playing in the background! Should definitely get a massage when visiting! Kayaking before sunset with the family was the icing on the cake! Loved this property!
This inn was fantastic. Our cabana was right on the sand and the beautiful, quiet, well-maintained private beach. Angel was extremely helpful and offered us lots of guidance, advice, recommendations, etc., and his brother was helpful too. We loved the ability to rent bikes onsite, use their boogie boards and floaties, etc. Highly recommend it!
we can’t give this place enough stars! it was absolutely amazing and they made our time there wonderful! the staff is so friendly and they get to know you and want to know you. the massages we got were the best we ever had! everything about this please is phenomenal! they take great pride in their resort and the workers there are amazing!
Excellent place to stay, right on the beach. Hot water for showers, nice pool open 24/7, delicious complimentary breakfast, small fridge in our room, A/C, kayak use included with booking, friendly staff. The water was warm (we went in May) and fairly clear. We really enjoyed our time at Parrot Cove Lodge and would recommend the place.
Great little hostel located close to the beach and restaurants.
Nice shared shaded spaces to hangout in the heat of the day.
Good bathroom and showers, as well as a great little kitchen to use.
Owners and staff were always at hand and keeping the place clean.
Fans we’re available for the dorms
Staff were fantastic and really aimed to be helpful! And waking up right next to the trails was a fantastic way to beat the heat. Also, this area is fairly isolated, I had the waterfalls all to myself until about noon! Hotel restaurant was excellent, albeit quite pricey.
Emma is a great host! she takes you in like family! helps with all kinds of recommendations on what to do/see and where to eat. at the hostel, you have this great rooftop where you can relax after a long day. the rooms are very clean and the showers are amazing.
The deluxe double room is not large but quite comfortable and has an oblique view of the beach, the palms and the ocean. There was a good TV and WiFi most of the time.
There is free drinking water usually available in the inn's porch.
The staff make this place. My family and I traveled here last year and most of the staff remembered us before we reminded them we had been there before. The restaurant is arguablly the best in town.
Flawless grounds , flawless staff , communal dinner was great to get to meet other guests , catered to special events really well - cannot fault ! very clean large room in overwater bungalow
