This is an absolutely 10 out of 10! Christiana and the rest of the staff go above and beyond to ensure that your stay is exceptional. They really do know the meaning of hospitality and we couldn't be more grateful for their attention and all of their guidance. We had an incredible stay thanks to them! When I return to Belize, I will DEFINITELY be coming back here!

Incredibly friendly staff that made us feel welcome and at home. They gave us perfect recommendations for stuff to do in the area. They even let us keep our rental car there an extra night while we went over to see Tikal. Very tasty Mexican themed restaurant we ate at 3/4 nights and for every breakfast. Drinks were also delicious. I highly recommend their signature margarita and pina coladas. The rooms were comfortable and included everything we needed. The pool was lovely after exploring in the heat. Definitely recommend staying here!

The staff picked us up from airport for the 2 hour ride to cahal pech. The staff helped with arranging last minute excursion along with a ride to the airport. The views were amazing, the pool, drinks and food at the resort were also great! The staff was attentive to all our needs for our 2 night stay. We stayed in a bungalow and it was comfortable and quiet. For the price we paid this resort was perfect!

Staying at Rainforest was so splendid we did not want to leave! The rooms were so spacious and lovely. Everything was very clean and in perfect condition. The A/C was better than I expected, and the mattresses were so comfortable I slept like a baby. The location was perfect, walking distance to the market and restaurants. Shirley was such a wonderful and gracious host. The rooftop offers nice views of San Ignacio. I absolutely hope to visit the Rainforest Inn again and hopefully book a Marie Sharp cooking class next time!

We hired a cab for all 3 days. A bit pricey but was extremely convenient and the owner/driver was super nice.

Good place to base with lots of activities close by.
Good place to base with lots of activities close by. We didn't spend much time in the town itself as we stayed slightly out of town center so cannot comment on restaurants and such. Good street food. Good grocery shopping to stock up.

We spent 2 full days there.
We spent 2 full days there. The first day we went to the local Mayan ruins of Cahal Peche and Xanantunich and the second we went cave tubing with Bellizean Caving Expeditions. Both were amazing experiences. If we had an extra day we would have loved to see the Mayan city of Carocal which is further away from town.

If you're looking for quiet and remote, then this is your place. There isn't much to do here. Thank God for the Casinos. They gave me something other than staring at the hotel walls to do.
Visiting the Mayan ruins of Xunantunich, was great. But you definitely want to take the taxi from the ferry to the top of the hill, if you're not in good shape.
Just a little way up the road is a restaurant named Sweet & Sour. The food was very good. I just wasn't feeling the cow foot soup. Lol.
Although lots of advertisement says public transportation is available. However, unless you want to spend a small fortune, you absolutely need a car and a working cell phone for the GPS.
The people in Belize were very helpful and friendly. It was great that most of them spoke English. This was a huge plus.
The poverty here was heart breaking. I'm glad that I had an opportunity to visit. But I doubt that I will be going back any time soon.

The only thing that was horrific about this place was the hair braiding woman whose small shop is directly left from The Spot restaurant which is on the opposite side of the Venus hotel. The woman is violent. She gave us a big spill about how awful my daughters hair extensions were and that she would take it out and do it again. She said she would do it for 50USD. We accepted as she seemed like a nice lady but how wrong we were. She took the extensions out but then said she couldn’t remove the beads in my daughters hair and would need to leave them in. My daughter was horrified so I then had to bite every single one of them out myself. She then cut a three inch chunk of my daughters hair which is right on the crown. We told her we didn’t want her doing it and she bullied us to carry on. She then side platted my daughters natural hair and made a huge plaitted bump and then sowed the hair into the plait leaving a huge surplus of the hair extensions hanging. My daughter was so distraught and started crying and begged her to stop. She then took a 12 inch kitchen knife from her handbag and pepper spray on her key ring and said we must giver her the money. It was such a scary experience. Please please avoid this woman at all costs. We then complained to authorities whom explained she was mentally unstable. They wanted us to file a police report to have her arrested but we just wanted to leave the area.

Easy to navigate on foot.
Easy to navigate on foot.
The market is a must see for especially the food that is available throughout the day.
Just like any other place, be careful at night time when walking downtown. We did feel very safe.
Have bug repellents ready at night.
Location of this hotel is awesome if you want to be in easy walking distance of all things in San Ignacio which has a fairly concentrated main street. The staff was also wonderful - shout out to Ismael for all the recommendations and helpfulness! Loved the microwave available for use and even the fridge if you ask. Really liked the balcony looking overlooking the city and jungle - highly recommend checking out sunrise! Also free parking if you have a car which is a bonus.
The location of Venus hotel could not have been any more central. It was supremely comfortable and staff were welcoming. The bonus was the balcony across the length of the hotel, just outside our room, that overlooked the town square. Loved it! Oh, and another bonus, that we took full advantage of, was the free use of the pool at their sister hotel, which was about a 10 minute walk away. We went hard in the morning, then relaxed by the pool in the afternoon.
A friendly, comfortable place. I had the only room with a private bathroom, but from what I saw the place is perfectly clean everywhere. Miraculously, there was good hot water (the only place en Belize that actually had it during my visit). AC in the room. Great value for the price. Well located close to restaurants, bus stop, on the same street where all the tour operators work - and the hostel is happy to provide tours at good price if you ask.
This was our anniversary trip and - I left our passports in the room!! Yes I did. We didn't realize it until we got to the airport in Belize City. When I called & spoke to the front desk they found the passports and since the manager was going into Belize City the next day he went to the airport and had them sent to us on Tropic Air to San Pedro.
The staff at San Ignacio Resort Hotel are just the best. And, I mean everyone.
The staff were all super friendly. I'd like to give a special shoutout to Minnelli. I have been to many places and met many friendly people in the hospitality business, still, Minnelli was hands down one of the best. She went out of her way to help me with my trip arrangement and made my visit at San Ignacio so much more pleasant.
Good food as well.
15 minutes walk to Cahal Pech and about 20 minutes walk to downtown
We had a wonderful stay at Villa Cayo. Virginia, Ken, and their staff provided a beautiful hilltop retreat. They helped us book our daily excursions and you can order breakfasts to be delivered to your room before your outings. We were in Unit 3 and felt we had the small lawn and valley view to ourselves. We would not hesitate to recommend Villa Cayo to friends visiting San Ignacio.
Perfect location, nice spacious garden and a great atmosphere that fits in San Ignacio perfectly. But, most important, the owners are a wonderful couple, helpful and truly concerned about the satisfaction of their customers. When going to Belize, don't just stay at the coast or the Cayes, make sure you visit San Ignacio, Cayo and stay at Mana Kai!
one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at! the most friendly staff who elevate the experience by adding more fun into every experience. The excursions they offer here are also top tier(highly recommend pine ridge and ATM !!) very spacious rooms and bathrooms and also super clean! def the place to b in san Ignacio!
This hostel has thought about everything: individual plugs and lockers, lots of common spaces, lots of outside sitting area in the shade, good value activities, free coffee in the morning, … It has everything you need to be comfortable. nice location too - close to the bus stop
Hotel located at a hill top outside of San Ignacio with a good view of the city and surroundings. The hut we stayed was pleasant when getting a breeze in the evening. Hotel also provides many tours in this area. We booked a few transfers and tours through the hotel.
House is spacious with 5 bedrooms and 3 baths. Beautiful view of sunset from top patio. Only a 15 minute drive to downtown San Ignacio. Nice to have a pool. We loved the 2 outdoor dogs that came with the house. They were very sweet. Great to have a washer & dryer.
Pool was great, staff were attentive and helpful, view from the hilltop overlooking jungle was lovely. It’s a short drive into San ignacio so you ideally need a car. We didn’t eat here so can’t comment on the food. Drinks were good and reasonably priced.
the hotel is right in the center of San Ignacio and the best was the food and the staff! we felt like this was home, everyone was very friendly! recommended if you are staying in San Ignacio!
Claudia was very pleasant and helpful, the villa is cosy, lovely and with all we need. It was our best stay in Belize. Possibility to take an amazing breakfast. The pool was so great too !
Perfect place to stay in San Ignacio - big and clean room with A/C, good wifi and a delicious breakfast in the morning. The owner is very helpful and kind - we would love to come back.
Right downtown. Super cute. Always stuff going on at the backpackers. We were there for New Year’s Eve and had the best time! Loved the staff. Felt very cared for.
