The bar downstairs was really cute, and the room was nice. The staff were fantastic and helpful. We ordered bread and butter from the bar, and avocado toast with room service in the morning and both were phenomenal- assuming the rest of the menu would be similar. The bar had a jar of candies at the desk which was a nice little touch that we loved.

Halifax is a very attractive port city with many old buildings and newer ones which are also well worth seeing. Great boat trip options, including the ferry to Dartmouth plus the highlight being the Harbor Hopper in Halifax which is an amphibious bus which starts off the tour on land and then goes into the sea. Much of historic interest is in Halifax, including the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic which has features on the Halifax explosion and the Titanic sinking. Also the citadel fort has much military history and great views. Halifax is a very walkable city which includes the pedways where you can walk between some shops and hotels without having to go outside to negotiate your way through the traffic on the way to somewhere e.g. the boardwalk and is also ideal if there is bad weather. The lovely boardwalk stretches almost 4 km in total and is brilliant for getting exercise and seeing the sights while walking down it, with plenty of free chairs to relax in along the way. Also there is a great central pub called The Split Crow and nice restaurants nearby in the central area.

I've stayed in this city many times.

I've stayed in this city many times. Always lots to do no matter what your interests. It has a pretty vibrant night life, and I've always felt safe here, no matter where I walked. Lots of history, lots of night life, lots of dining options (Seafood is a MUST!!), lots of tours, museums, etc. I live in Ottawa, and Halifax easily compares in the museum and history aspects, and in some ways is even better. Go there. You won't be disappointed!!

    Halifax is fantastic.

Halifax is fantastic. We travelled there 2 Septembers in a row (4 and 2 days respectively). if you stay downtown, you are able to walk to all the local attractions- we especially loved the boardwalk, citadel, and shopping downtown. Many many fabulous restaurants and museums. Also, fun to stay in Halifax proper and take excursions to local attractions( ie Peggy's Cove and Laurencetown beach) Prepare for rain - but this in no way detracts from having fun in this great city

If you only have a bit of time do the harbour hoppers tour. Lots of historical information about Halifax. A tour of the Citadel, important or historical sites and a brief trip into the bay to see the Halifax Harbour. Two thumbs up and very reasonably priced.

Great hotel, all the facilities you’d expect (and hope for) including hair dryer, ironing board, coffee machine, huge (!) tv and fridge. We asked for a kettle and it was provided. We had a queen with balcony and harbour view, which was lovely. Halifax is very walkable and the hotel is perfectly placed to do that on the periphery of downtown. Lovely warm, informative and efficient welcome from Tim on reception. Lots of parking available at hotel for CAD20 a day. Nice pool and gym.

Great location! Walking distance to downtown Dartmouth. Short car ride to downtown Halifax. The loft was clean, spacious, and comfortable. It had everything we needed. The code for the door was very nice and better than using keys or a key card. Host was very communicative, helpful, and attentive to our needs. We came from another country and didn’t have data and the host made sure we were still able to check in and get into the loft by giving us backup codes ahead of time.

Very happy with our stay. Located just off a major route so easy to get to downtown Dartmouth or Halifax. Room was spacious, clean and equipped. Queen size bed was comfy. Room has two large window's for natural light but black out blinds or curtains would be nice for sleeping. Staff were helpful and solved any issues right away. Air conditioner was not working so maintenance brought in a portable A/C unit which served the purpose. Will definitely stay here again!

Good size 3 bedroom house in a convenient location. Near lakes and on the road to Peggy’s Cove, Airport, Dartmouth and Halifax’s shopping malls it is a convenient location for those with a car. There is a supermarket, liquor store and a handful of restaurants/fastfood close by. It’s about a 10-15 minute drive to Hydrostone or downtown Halifax. House well suited for a family.

I stayed at both the Lord Nelson and Marriott Downtown hotels during my stay in Halifax. My room at the Lord Nelson was cheaper and yet 10x better than my room at the Marriott. It was a little busy when I checked-in but the staff in front assisted me as to where I can temporarily park. Great location just in front of the Halifax Public Gardens.
