A standard motel room--a little old but with thoughtful amenities (fridg, toaster, coffee, etc) and a scenic location right on the water! Good base for driving the Cabot Trail.
Located on the shores of the Bras d'Or Lakes, the Silver Dart Lodge is just 2 minutes’ drive from the center of Baddeck. Free Wi-Fi is offered in all rooms and a seasonal outdoor pool is on site.

Absolutely breathtaking ! Lake after lake after lake, they’re everywhere. Lots of wildlife as well. The views are incredible and the people are so kind and accommodating. If you love great seafood, this is one of the place to go in Nova Scotia.

Baddeck is a jewel on the B.D. Lakes.
Baddeck is a jewel on the B.D. Lakes. It is very scenic with lovely tourist shops and cafes. The scenery is amazing and the salt water lake offers recreational opportunities. Don't miss the nightly ceilidh, and especially on Thursday evenings. There are lots of great places to eat or drink local beverages.

A very pretty town in itself and the perfect jumping off for the famed Cabot Trail. There are some nice restaurants including the Freight Shed which sits right on the dock which has Muskoka chairs where one can sit and take in the view of the lighthouse.

We spent a lot more time in the Bell's museum because it was above and beyond our expectation.
The museum guided tours are a must-do!
It runs only twice a day (morning and afternoon, but different tour subjects), so make sure to make it.
Our guid was just fantastic!.
We wish our kids were with us for this.
All in all we spent half a day at the museum.

Small town with many restaurants, boutiques, cafes as well as basic amenities such as a pharmacy and grocery store. Wonderful walks along the shore of the Bras D’Or lakes as well as the pier and through town. There are also cultural events such as the music concert we attended and a drama group that puts on plays. The Alexander Bell museum is worth a visit as well.

Everyone should visit the Alexander Graham Bell exhibit.
Everyone should visit the Alexander Graham Bell exhibit. We learned so much about him and his wife and their impact on science and aviation and so much more!! Needs to be taught in school
Good restaurants from Toms Pizza to the Cable Room five star dining.
Has a neat waterfront boardwalk. A private mega yacht The Mary A was there WOW.
The breakfast was plentiful and with many choices. The coffee was a special blend made by Jeff - it was the best!! I loved the view from our window of the water. The location of our B&B was excellent! Several top notch restaurants within in walking distance and a fascinating museum about Alexander Bell was also a short walk. Water's Edge was not on the main street of Baddeck, but down the hill, right on the water, so that made it more quiet and a good place to stroll and enjoy the views.
Have returned multiple times to this place -- excellent on many levels. Well cared-for property, comfortable rooms and beds, excellent to have sitting chairs for reading, as well as outdoor chairs on the attached balconies. Restaurant on the property is good for breakfast and dinner. Short walk or drive into Baddeck for other amenities and options. Great view of the water, access to the highway and to the activities on the Cabot Trail.
Breakfast was not included but every unit has a kitchenette. There was also a barbecue that was clean, a nice balcony overlooking a pond with a fountain. The place was upgraded and clean, the host was extremely helpful and nice and he had even cut some hiking trails out of the property with varying levels of difficulty. Most importantly, it’s right on the Cabot Trail and close to Baddeck with great restaurants.
The shower is strong and hot. A bit dated but functional enough for 1 night. But the best feature must be the staff! The lady who checked us in was helpful and cheerful. We left a tablet and Shawn was quick to inform and went out of his way to send it onwards to our hotel in Halifax. Thank you so much, Shawn!!
Cyndy and Dave were welcoming and their place was comfortable and had everything you'd need. Oh, and breakfast options are plentiful and delicious. It was an easy walk into Baddeck for restaurants and shops.
The hosts were great. They accommodated our early breakfast request. They were very friendly and we enjoyed talking to them. This is a gem in a Baddeck. We will go there again and tell family and friends.
The room was pretty and it was clean, and the bed was super comfortable. I really liked the lotion they provided! The hotel itself was really pretty. Close proximity to restaurants and The Cabot Trail!
Great location to explore the Cabot trail. 20 ish
minutes to some amazing food in Baddeck.
Each room has a huge window looking out
over the water. Vince the owner was super
welcoming.
The hotel was very good, comfortable, the staff were great but we had a hard time finding a restaurant open to get food because of the off season nothing was open
