I seen development in the City since the last time I have visited. The city is no longer boring, but getting vibrant with many amenities and opportunities.
Smaller City but has everything what's needed for a modern urban life.

I was there primarily to see "Mandy Patinkin in Concert", so I can't review Halifax for you, other than the driving experience... Street signage could be better in a lot of the downtown core... but yes to coming back to see more of it....

I've stayed in this city many times.
I've stayed in this city many times. Always lots to do no matter what your interests. It has a pretty vibrant night life, and I've always felt safe here, no matter where I walked. Lots of history, lots of night life, lots of dining options (Seafood is a MUST!!), lots of tours, museums, etc. I live in Ottawa, and Halifax easily compares in the museum and history aspects, and in some ways is even better. Go there. You won't be disappointed!!

Halifax is fantastic.
Halifax is fantastic. We travelled there 2 Septembers in a row (4 and 2 days respectively). if you stay downtown, you are able to walk to all the local attractions- we especially loved the boardwalk, citadel, and shopping downtown. Many many fabulous restaurants and museums. Also, fun to stay in Halifax proper and take excursions to local attractions( ie Peggy's Cove and Laurencetown beach) Prepare for rain - but this in no way detracts from having fun in this great city

If you only have a bit of time do the harbour hoppers tour.
If you only have a bit of time do the harbour hoppers tour. Lots of historical information about Halifax. A tour of the Citadel, important or historical sites and a brief trip into the bay to see the Halifax Harbour. Two thumbs up and very reasonably priced.

Halifax is more of a town than a city.
Halifax is more of a town than a city. I would say 2 days is ample, 3 at the most. I would say it's a walkable place but I walk mostly everywhere. If you use transit (bus, ferry) or use the bridges - you need to have cash (coins - $1 and 25 cents).
The ferry across to Dartmouth is a fun little outing.
The Titanic exhibition in town is informative but over-priced. At most you will spend an hour in it.
I found Halifax a curious mix of individuals - lots of students and a fair amount of homeless folk. Some folk were super friendly but there does seem to be an element of 'tension' between the locals and the more transient populations - tourist, students, cruise people. I've travelled a lot and have never had that sense of tension before.
Accommodation is super expensive or pretty basic. I stayed in a hotel in the North end, it wasn't cheap, $168/night and it was not good.
My overall recommendation on Halifax - Go take a look for a few days but head off to see the rest of NS.
Friendly and very helpful staff. Strong WIFI. Great working area.
An onsite washer and dryer for the convenience of guests to do their own laundry. This is a fantastic feature and all hotels should consider providing this facility.
Quick and efficient response from maintenance when required.
Great parking. Access to downtown is fairly easy.
Vending machines in the lobby.
The room is absolutely fantastic, the harbor view is absolutely fantastic, the parking is $20 per day but its easy to park and less stress about parking in a random parking lot. The location of the hotel is absolutely fantastic, I have brought a bike with me from Toronto, and its super easy to bike around to save times and parking fees around the Halifax Downtown
Their breakfast was amazing! a lot of selections and nice view from the restaurant. Our room was a lake view and it was clean. And location was close to enough to downtown Halifax. Also they have an arcade in the hotel which was great. My family enjoyed playing their.
The hotel is located in the central area of Downtown Halifax which makes it very convenient when going exploring throughout the city. The room was spacious with very comfortable beds and suitable appliances for long term stay. The staff was friendly and welcoming.
Spent just one night while visiting Halifax, but liked the room. It was quite spacious and comfortable. The hotel is very close to the Halifax Citadel, but it's up on the hill. So if you go downtown, you'll have to climb all the way up the hill if you walk back.
The hotel staff are amazing. They arranged for an upgrade when we weren't happy with our room. The hotel can use an upgrade but overall it is clean and located centrally in downtown Halifax. The coffee machine and free bottled water is a bonus
Beautiful spot in downtown Halifax. Great location for food and fun. Very quaint atmosphere. It was like having a little apartment in the city. The furniture was rustic, and the overall feel was of an older time and it was very relaxing.
I stayed a week at the Lord Nelson Hotel in downtown Halifax, across the street from the gorgeous public gardens, and close to the Halifax Citadel. The lovely old hotel was a delight and the staff are wonderful.
Have stayed here several times, prices are always decent rooms are always nice! Always my first choice when booking for downtown halifax! Super close to the bar strip and lots of over amenities!
Great hotel - close enuf to downtown and free parking. The breakfast was good - they had the usual cereals/breads/yogurt, but they also had hot eggs - either an omelette or scrambled.
The Hotel is well situated for visiting downtown Halifax. The room at the Hotel was comfortable. A good size. Good storage, good shower and good wi-fil. Staff friendly and helpful.
Perfect hotel when traveling with children. Lots of on-site activities and close to conviienence stores. The view is peaceful and hidden away from the bustle of downtown.
Nice clean room and a great price! $86 dollars per night for a room here is awesome! Right on the waterfront was great! Very nice hotel! Staff were nice and friendly!
Excellent beds, easy parking, spacious room/bathroom, nice front desk staff. If you have a car, it’s a decent value compared to staying in downtown Halifax.
