Andy at the front desk was warm and so helpful all during our stay. We had a wonderful room that faced the beautiful Lauterbrunnen valley and the mountains (our favorite view out of any place we've traveled). The breakfasts were just superb. Still dreaming about the breads! Can't say enough good things.

This scenic mountain village offers incredible views of the Lauterbrunnen valley and surrounding landscape. The scenery alone makes the walk it takes to stroll along the hills of this town well worth it. Close to hiking trails, nature, and wildlife. While Wengen is a bit isolated, the train ride into the valley each day provides views that never get old. Wengen is still close enough to Interlaken where you will find trains heading in various directions for a day of exploration. A great base location for your trip, you will enjoy starting and ending your day in Wengen. (When booking your stay, consider exact location and be mindful that this is a mountain village with various slopes and inclines.)

I liked Wengen very much.
I liked Wengen very much. There’s a decent selection of restaurants and a few shops to browse around. It’s easy to get to and easy to get to Mürren and Grindelwald from. The scenery is stunning and everyone was very friendly. A great stay

Our first trip to Wengen and although it’s a trek to get there it is easy using Swiss rail network. Fabulous mountain village and benefits from being traffic free. The skiing was great although not extensive and other areas are a challenge to get to but enough above the town for a weeks casual skiing. Those who like to travel around may find it restrictive. There is one T bar lift to get back to Wengen if you traverse to Klein Schenigg which is a pain but you can either ski down to Wengen or take the train if T bars are not your thing ( not ours!). The town has a range or bars and restaurants but is peaceful. A few shops too selling ski wear, walking gear and Swiss stuff as you would expect. Local food shops are well stocked as well. We used the COOP mainly. They also sell firewood if your place has a log burner.
We went to ski but would love to go back in warmer times to trek as it looks fabulous!

Wengen was straight out of a postcard!
Wengen was straight out of a postcard! The town was charming and the views were second to none. The vacation was wonderful for us as a couple, but is also very family friendly. There were well behaved dogs with many of the visitors as well. I cannot wait to return!

The setting in the Jungfrau Region is jaw-dropping.
The setting in the Jungfrau Region is jaw-dropping. Small village feel with accomodations ranging from rustic to luxurious. Traffic-free, except for the occassional taxi or public works vehicle. Train access to high apline environment is unparalleled! Just wish the snow was better in late January.
Excellent customer service from reception and the restaurant. Loved the hotel dog, Caramel, and being allowed to take him for a walk around the village. The breakfast was amazing and had epic views of the alps - felt like we were in a Swiss fairytale. We were upgraded to a bigger room with a view of the alps - such a pleasant surprise. The hotel also arranges for someone to pick up and drop off your luggage at Wengen Station so you're not dragging it up the steep hill. So happy with this stay and highly, highly recommend to others!
This hotel far exceeded my expectations. Even the smaller room I booked had everything I needed, including a patio facing the mountain and a desk for me to work at (plus free drinks in the mini-bar!). The bar/lounge area was such a great space to grab a drink after a day of hiking, and I loved the pool/sauna/steam room area. Best of all, the hotel staff were so accommodating, even offering to move my room when I told them there was a noisy family next door. I will stay here next time I visit for sure!
I appreciated the attentive and friendly staff, the unexpected welcome drink, the morning’s freshly baked breads, eggs, and coffee, the room’s view of the village - getting to sleep with the windows open and fresh air in the room, and the abundance of additional toilettes, seating areas throughout the hotel and its restaurant, and picnic spaces under the covered patio, We also enjoyed the unique furniture, artwork, and family-focused business from 4+ generations of collectors.
The hotel is better than expected. It looked older from the pictures, but it's actually newer and well-preserved. The rooms were big enough; we also had a big balcony and a breathtaking view of the Jungfrau.
The owner is very helpful for any activity you wish to plan. Dinner is good (not gourmet, but price-wise well worth it), and breakfast is fresh and tasty. Tea and coffee are available for free all day long in a cozy tea room.
Free ski deposit next to the cable car.
The staff were all very friendly, patient, and nicely answered our inquiries, the hotel has a considerate pick-up service for check-in, and you can leave your luggage at the hotel after check-out and they can send your luggage to Wengen station
We lived in a room with a mountain view and the scenery was awesome, you also have a big balcony where you can enjoy the mini bar (tea and coffee) provided by the hotel
The breakfast is also nice, you have many fresh choices :)
Cosy, comfortable and well-equipped apartment a few minutes walk from the centre of Wengen, at the entrance to the Hotel Wengerhof grounds.
We had the one bedroom apartment Mönch on the ground floor. Plenty of room for two people, full kitchen and a nice balcony as well as access to the HotelcWengerhof gardens.
The apartment is in typical Swiss 1970s/1980s style but perfectly comfortable and functional. We’d be happy to stay there again.
The Hotel is ski-in ski-out and has the best terrace bar in town for après ski (sometimes even with live music). Facilities are simple, clean and functional and my room had the most perfect view to the mountains. Watching the sunrise and sunset from my balcony everyday was definitely one of the highlights of the trip. The Hotel is owned and managed by Malika and her family, who are very nice, along with the exceptional staff.
The hotel is located on a very nice location as you can enjoy the view from there and it is not far from the train station. They also provide a shuttle service from hotel to the train station. The breakfast is very nice and you can enjoy the view while having breakfast. The staff, Mr. Andy he is such a nice and helpful staff with lot of information about Switzerland. Definitely gonna visit this place and stay here again.
The apartment reserved for my family is super spacious. The mountain and valley view from balcony is splendid. We were impressed by the hospitality from the hotel, including staff’s enthusiasm, wonderful breakfast, classic dinner services with very reasonable cost. The shuttle services was really a big help for elderly people although it was only 5 minutes by walk to the railway station.
1. The staffs, especially Ms & Mr J, were professional in every positive sense. Compliment!
2. Hotel gave ride from Wengen station to hotel. They even brought our luggage to the station punctually at the time we wished. It was a remarkable service.
3. The Jungfrau view from the room was simply fantastic.
4. The boiled egg at the breakfast was the best one I have had on a journey.
Incredible balcony room with a view of the mountains. I loved the traditional and rustic decor of the hotel. The staff were lovely, helpful and always down for a chat. You didn't need a fan in hot weather either, as you'd just open the balcony window for a nice mountain breeze. Will definitely come back to Wengen and would love to stay here again.
I stayed here for 7 nights over Xmas and it exceeded my expectations, from check in to departure I couldn't have asked for more. Great room size, freshly prepared cuisine, large balcony with views of Wengen and mountains. Lounge with tea and coffee facilities. Staff so helpful.
This hotel deserves an extra star.
This is a beautiful, comfortable and welcoming hotel with stunning views from the balconies and the terrace. Great attention to detail by all staff. Food was delicious - both the buffet breakfasts and the evening meals. A highly recommended place to stay to enjoy everything about Switzerland.
A perfect base for our first trip to Switzerland with great access to the whole Jungfrau area. The apartment had everything we needed and the views from the balcony were so good we decided to stay in to eat every night as we had the best table in the house.
The view and location was fabulous, it has to be the best in Wengen! The whole hotel has a warm and charming Swiss atmosphere. Breakfast was excellent and the entire staff were super nice! I look forward to my return!
The hotel is right opposite to the wengen train station(hardly 50 mtrs walk)..the room is clean and offers stunning view.. they also have a library with good collection of books that can be picked up for read..
Great location and the best view in Switzerland. Plenty of room, great cooking facilities, very clean and superb lighting. The host—Karin was very friendly and welcoming and readily accessible and helpful.
the staff are excellent and made me feel right at home. hotel is well organised, series of common rooms to relax, great sauna and good location in Wengen
