Such a beautiful culture and land. The cloud forest is magical and the guides are passionate about sharing what makes it unique and about preserving it. The falls at El Tigre are an absolute must, and Los Pinos Cabins offer one of the most memorable and relaxing accommodations I've experienced in recent years.

Mo reverse was a beautiful place to visit, nice restaurants/bars/shops, it is very hilly (bring it’s up a mountain). Lots to do whilst there. We used Treetop’s a to go zip lining and high bridges walk, they were very professional and made sure your safety was top priority.

If you are a birder, this is paradise. In just a few days we identified nearly 200 species of birds. There are lots of reserves, parks, etc. in Monteverde to explore and it would be easy to spend a couple of weeks trying to see them all. Monteverde was one of the highlight of our Costa Rica tour. The forests are beautiful (though we saw more wildlife during the day in Manual Antonio and Cahuita). Do not miss the night tour with a knowledgeable local guide, you can spot a lot of animals and he also explains a lot about animals that you can see on your own during the day. Millions of potentials for different activities (we tried Selvatura package, excellent, can only recommend), coffee plant tour, hanging bridges, hiking, etc. I wish we could have had more time here ! I would return anytime (to hike El Tigre which we did not have time now, do a canopy tour again and hanging bridges). Food was also great (Sabor Tico, at the football field and Choco Café Restaurante y Cafetería).

Monteverde is wonderful for nature lovers. We really enjoyed the Cloud Forest Biological Preserve. Even on a very windy day we saw quite a bit of wildlife and had a lovely walk. However, I recommend either reserving tickets online in advance or be prepared to wait over an hour for openings (they only allow 250 people at a time) on busy weekends. There are quite a lot of good places to eat. Go with one of the bigger companies on a night tour and book well in advance. We went through some area near a coffee farm and it was underwhelming.Taylor

The staff were incredibly kind and friendly. Breakfast was free if you pay in cash, and it was delicious- fresh fruit juice and fruit platter, plus your choice of 3 breakfasts. We are vegetarians and they were happy to accommodate that, making us veggie omelettes instead of ham. We also had dinner here- the pizza was super tasty, salad was fresh, excellent all around. Beds were very comfy, shower was great, loved it all!

Don't forget to ask them for local recommendations, they will also book tours and activities for you. Really recommend.

The hotel was most accommodating and prepared fruit plates for us the night before and left them in the refrigerator for us to pick up the next morning. This was unexpected but very much appreciated. The previous evening's dinner was excellent. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The view of the Arenal Volcano is spectacular! We will definitely stay here again for several days on our next visit to Costa Rica.
