The place is a hidden gem. Beautiful is an understatement. It has a gorgeous, large garden with fruit trees, dozens of birds singing, tables outside to sit and enjoy breakfast in the morning. The swimming pool is nicely positioned.
The room is spacious, although very basic. It's quiet, comfortable and clean and so was the bathroom.
The girl who did my check in and check out (Gabriela, if I remember well) was an angel. Extremely helpful, kind and empathetic.

This was the perfect place to stay on our first night in Costa Rica. We were looking for a place with transportation from the airport, and Mathieu was very easy to coordinate with for this. The room was spacious and nicely appointed, we loved sleeping with the fresh air and waking up to the sounds of the birds and insects. We also loved relaxing on the private porch in the morning, and even saw a toucan fly by just as we were sitting down to eat! Breakfast was great as well, we are a family of 4 and everyone was happy. Would love to stay here again!

I think most travelers would not spend more than two nights in Alajuela- 1 inbound and 1 outbound.
I spent 5+2 nights in Alajuela while I was getting ready for my family members' visits spread over a few days.
Our "suburban" enclave was up-to-date with modern facilities, and close to Alajuela near the Freeway 1.
The location where we stayed was "authentic" with a tiny super, a cute bakery, a soda, and the most delightful neighbors.
I could almost stay to learn the language. :0

I stayed pretty close to a large shopping mall--just a few blocks away--so the restaurant options were great. I ate at "Mahalo"--great poke! The house is within a few miles of the airport, so getting there only cost 3 colones, and I took a Tuasa bus (for about two dollars) to get to Alajuela from downtown San Jose. The only "negative" is that there were traffic sounds, but they settled down when it got later. I would definitely stay in Alajuela again. I felt completely safe walking back alone at night after dinner.

The area is fun and easy to get around.
The area is fun and easy to get around. There are many small stores, but no good supermarkets. TONS of cafes and fast food places, so getting something to eat is easy. I'd go there again, but there's not a ton to do unless you enjoy sitting in parks, which I do.

It’s the best location to stay on your first night,...
It’s the best location to stay on your first night, especially if you arrive in the evening and don’t have an “all inclusive“ vacation booked; and best location for your last night in Costa Rica, due to the proximity to the airport.
Be warned, the red taxis are really expensive and Uber drivers are allowed to drop you off at the airport, but are not allowed to pick you up from the airport. Most places that offer accommodation, also offer a pickup service from the airport. Take it. The closer to the airport, the cheaper they get; prices start at $5 and could get to $35, $40 US dollars , depending on the distance to the airport.
Most rental cars offices are around the airport, so, look for a place to stay not too far away from the airport and one that offers drop off to a rental car office. If not, it’s always an Uber driver available. The closer to the airport, the better, for first and last night stay, because driving in the city could take a veeeeeery long time.
If you have time, walk the streets of Alajuela, people are very friendly and ready to help. Be very careful, the water tranches along the pedestrian walkways, are very deep, and the holes on the uneven pavement are deep as well, but definitely go to the city’s fresh market; it is a very interesting experience. Make sure you calculate well the prices, from corones into dollars, lots of vendors will try to take advantage of you, if you don’t pay attention. You can pay in US dollars everywhere, except for buses (long distance or local buses); the dollar bills must be pristine, one little tear anywhere on the bill, will be refused.
All in all is a nice city full of hustle and bustle, with lots of cars and people, with little parks with amazing trees, lots of perrots, delicious fresh fruits and gelatos

Quite noisy and a bit dirty.
Quite noisy and a bit dirty. People are nice, but food was a disappointment - it was almost impossible to find fresh vegetarian food that hadn’t been processed. Everything was fried in grease and had meat in it.
Very nice people who work here and it's a nice and clean hostel. We stayed here for two times, at the beginning of our holiday and at the end. I would recommend the normal 2 persons room more over the luxury one since this one is less noisy and a bit more dark but both rooms are good! You can have some nice meals here also. There is a taxi service from the hostel so you don't have to struggle with finding your way through the (illegal) taxi jungle when you arrive in Alajuela.
The staff was very welcoming and kind. The hotel has a nice atmosphere, inside and outside space to chill or have breakfast. My room was super tidy and clean, AC, large shower. I used the transport from the hotel to the airport as well, which was convenient and only 5 dollars. A lot cheaper and felt safer then most taxi's.
It was an ideal place to stay a night if you want to be close to the airport.
Would definitely come here again if I need a stay in San José.
Despite the busy road just in front of the hotel - and the airport within its direct vicinity, you barely notice this all when you enter the hotel and hit for its poolside area. Planes didn't fly over during the night (they did from 7 am and were quite loud :D) so the night was perfect. Breakfast was spot-on, right what we remembered from our last trip to Costa Rica 12 years ago, very tastful gallo pinto and the best pancakes for our kids.
It was a good typical breakfast. The pool was lovely and the view spectacular. The staff were friendly. Not their issue that the rooms shown when booking are not the room given on arrival. They are doing their best. This place has huge potential if managed correctly. Money needs to be invested. The Mirador del Valle restaurant is 300 meters from hotel. Same gorgeous view, excellent service and the food was amazing.
We stayed for the first 2 nights of our trip and the last night before leaving Costa Rica. The hotel staff were lovely and could not have been more helpful. The hotel location is very convenient for the airport and a central place for wandering around Alajuela, finding restaurants, etc. The garden dining area was a pleasant place to relax, and the breakfast was delicious (the best Gallo pinto of our trip).
We love this hotel and have been coming back for years! It’s close proximity to the airport is super convenient and it is walking distance to the town square in Alajuela with restaurants and shops which makes it a perfect location to spend some time near San Jose. The staff is so friendly. Best value in San Jose!!
We needed a hotel near the airport. All other options were booked. We found Airport Costa Rica B&B through the Maps app and took a chance on one of the “lesser-known” establishments that seemed highly rated. I’m really glad we did, because this place was fantastic, and just a few minutes from the airport.
Very nice garden where you can even spot colibris. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in the center of Alajuela, close to the central market and the bus terminal, it is perfect for people arriving or departing from the airport. The breakfast is included and is tasty.
Hostel was really nice, private room and shared bathroom. Everything was clean and you can get breakfast for just 4$ (Eggs with toast and fruit). Near airport.
