Excellent staff. Best food anywhere. The cook/owner brought out amazing cake for my son with a candle on my sons birthday singing Happy Birthday to him. Enjoyed a hearty Scottish breakfast each morning, must order it.

not technically Dundee, we actually stayed in Broughty Ferry, a neighbouring town.
The town is easily reached from Dundee, whether coming any direction. The town lay-out is quite straight forward, most of the main streets run parallel with the river Tay. Easy to keep, or retain your bearings. The main shops are all within 5 to 10 minutes of each other, so never far to walk to get shopping, plenty of variety, cafe's, restaurants, gift shops, grocery stores etc, the vast majority being smallish independent shops, only the odd one or two high street names.
Prices can be a bit higher than within Dundee, possibly due to less competition, and the fact it is a touristy town.
Dundee is about 10 minutes drive, at most, so if staying long-term, eg 1 or 2 weeks, and self catering, then big supermarkets are easily reached.
There;s enough about Broughty Ferry top keep most folk occupied and amused for a short term break, with plenty of variety for all ages.
overall, a nice place to visit, and once you've been, you'll wonder why you hadn't been before.

I really like Dundee but have only started visiting fairly recently. Prior to that it was always somewhere we stopped for a quick snack before heading on to Glasgow or Edinburgh.
For my 11 year old, she loves the shopping as we do let her loose by herself (which is not something I would allow in Glasgow or Edinburgh, too big) and I like the culture. The Discovery and the V&A are right next to each and good for a visit. The HMS Unicorn is also worth a visit and we have enjoyed the Science Centre and Camperdown Park previously.
There are some lovely pubs and restaurants, I have never met any rude staff, they are always so lovely and friendly.
Highly recommend a wee visit.

Plenty of things to do and see. We were there for a gig at The Caird Hall love the intimate atmosphere of the venue. Plenty of shops pubs and eating places. Easy to get to although new LEZ might be a bit of a nuisance for city centre things

Well I am going to say it is great going to Dundee as I am an expat.
Not too impressed with the V&A, Lovely building but disappointing inside. McManus is better. Up the Law Hill is well worth the visit even in the cold and wind etc. and Broughty Ferry is great for shopping and pubs etc.

Only a brief visit (open day visit to one of the Universities with son from England). Wish we had longer - lovely small city, friendly atmosphere and very beautiful location. New design museum a must. Will be back to see more of city and area, even if son does not end up at the Uni.
Splendid modern hotel in the city centre, a stones throw from train station, V&A Museum and all the best bars, restaurants, attractions etc in town centre. Large spacious breakfast room overlooking the newly revamped Dundee waterfront. Brekfast was top notch catering to all tastes and diets etc. Room was big enough and very comfortable. Decent bar on ground floor and loads more function, conference rooms, dining rooms etc to be had if needed.
The room was prepared immaculately with extra touches like a fresh Dundee Cake and the dining table already set for two. Alexa was available but we are not familiar with that tech so…. but we did use the remote control to draw the curtains.
The host’s information about parking in Dundee was invaluable and he was very helpful in helping us access the apartment.
Lovely old building which made a nice change for an overnight stays from hotels.
The hotel staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The room was very clean and comfortable. The towels were really soft, the water was lovely and hot and the extra touches, toiletries, Pringles, biscuits, bottled water, were replaced daily. The bed was very comfortable and the hotel is in a quiet area of Dundee, so I slept well. Plenty of off street parking in the surrounding streets. Only a 10-15 minute walk to the city centre.
The location was great, 20 minute drive to Dundee and Broughty Ferry. 5 minute drive to the Kingsway. Lots of free parking. Room was spacious and very comfortable. Bed was also comfortable. Didn't use the gym or pool so can't comment on it but you can smell the pool throughout the hotel which I personally like but it is very strong. Also shower is great!
The Queens is in a great location close to Dundee city centre. The hotel has lost a little of its grandeur (it must have been spectacular in its heyday) but it still covers all the basics well. The room was good (3rd floor) with great views of the city. Breakfast was very good and reasonably priced. Parking was on site and free. The staff were good.
Perfect Location with nice views, rooms are really good size and clean, very relaxing bar area and spa area is lovely.
Staff very friendly and they always deliver excellent customer service at all times. I have stayed here before and will stay again in future. I highly recommend Apex Hotel and Spa Dundee to anyone wishing to visit.
The location of the hotel was perfect for what I needed. I was traveling solo with my dog, and needed a comfortable place to crash for the night. The hotel is a 10-min walk from both restaurants and the water so had plenty of great options to take the dog out on a walk. The room was clean, and comfortable.
Lovely small hotel with loads of character and a really friendly welcome. A short walk from the city centre but much more peaceful with a cracking view across the Tay. The Dundee cake in the room was a great touch!
Everything about this hotel very clean place plus great value for cash and the area is just superb water not far from hotel stunning scenery my 1st time in dundee I'd return back to thus hotel highly recommend
It served the purpose very well for us. We are. Group of friends from different parts of the country so Dundee was quite central for us all. The price and location of the hotel suited us
Great location for exploring Dundee, next to city centre and the riverside. Room was ok, spacious and clean. Good deal on parking whereby hotel gave you 25% off parking fee.
The room was really big. Paid £5 a day for parking.
Free use of the gym and pool which was good. The hotel is walkable distance to town and river which was really good
We were attending a wedding near by so location was great for this. The hotel itself was great value for money, it was clean, comfortable and staff were lovely.
