I loved the size of the room and the complimentary robes & slippers. The view was also amazing - we were in a sea front privileged room. The location of the hotel was great. Plenty round about. The breakfast was also really great, we were pleasantly surprised.

Very convenient location. The bed was very comfortable. Everything was clean. The kitchen had all the basics for cooking.

Plenty of shops, cinema had just reopened. Nice bistro/ good food"the Bistro". Found streets a little dirty in the town , some interesting architecture. River Ayr could be seen from apartment.Appeared to be a good bus service.
Nice long beach with promenade.

The town is not what it once was, but as someone born and bred in Ayr I have nothing to dislike about it. Loads of good places to stay and to eat for all tastes and expenses. Very easy to navigate around the town by car, lots of buses at regular intervals. 3 great golf courses if that's your thing, loads of nice walks along the river, beach and if you find it Craigie Park (great for picnics).

Although there is a selection of the bars, restaurants and shops, the town centre is sadly lacking. Many, many empty shops. Full of charity shops, nail bars and vape shops. Ayr used to be one of my favourite places. Sadly, unfortunately those days are long gone.

Not an awful lot to do especially for young people but Culzean Castle and Dumfries House worth a visit. We also enjoyed the Burns museum. Glasgow easy drive away. Ayr and other beaches would be great in warmer months . Best dinner was at Kirkton Inn, Dalrymple and best lunch at The Coo Shed

Ayr itself was a disappointment knowing how it was a number of years ago and how I is today, beggars dirty Main Street so many shops vacant and in disrepair
Outside the town is still as I remember clean and beautiful. You can’t beat the Ayrshire countryside.
The location is fantastic easy walking access to Ayr beach and esplanade, likewise the city centre , ample parking near hotel.
The rooms are very spacious , comfortable (bed especially) tea and coffee ect.
The breakfast is outstanding freshly cooked , this was my third visit over 6 years and the standard has been the same ,
But by far the best feature has to be the staff and your host Linda nothing is to much trouble for them , will i return you bet I would ..thankyou again for a wonderful if brief stay ..
I’ve stayed in countless 5 star & boutique hotels, but they could all learn the meaning of ‘immaculate rooms’ & ‘great service’ from the Retreat at The Knowe Auchincruive Estate! Perfect venue & location for walks in the country or along the coast - my stay wasn’t long enough! Annie the host, was absolutely lovely & highly knowledgeable about the Ayrshire area! She couldn’t do enough, and the breakfast was fab! I will definitely return!
We were impressed with the quality of the accommodation of this hotel. Our recently refurbished room was warm and comfortable with a large TV and the ensuite was very well appointed with a great rainfall shower.
Breakfast was served by friendly helpful staff and was very satisfying. The hotel is located near the beach and yet only a few minutes rom the shops and restaurants in Ayr. We will definitely stay here again.
The Ayr and Galloway hotel offers a pleasant stay in their comfortable hotel rooms. Our room was spotless, and equipped with all the necessary amenities. There was plenty of hot water for a relaxing shower. The staff were friendly and always ready to assist. The dining experience was tasty,.filling, with hearty bar food options available..we had a nice stay and would stay again.
Location was a breeze, five minutes from the centre, bars, takeaways and restaurants were very accessible even for the less mobile of people. Joanne the owner is very genuine, really wants you to be really comfortable, with no restrictions with using gas, electricity, and central heating etc.
This B&B was the nicest room we’ve had in our 15 days in Scotland. The hosts are lovely people and the townhouse is amazing. They served an excellent breakfast with many great choices. The room was very elegantly attired and very large and comfortable.
Brought up in Ayrshire so I already knew it was special but the hospitality I received at Kilkerran was excellent from the start. Lovely warm and friendly host. The facilities were clean and cozy. Comfy bed too.
Beautiful hotel. The staff were really friendly, happy for a chat and very accommodating. Our room was a great size for 2 nights. The breakfast was delicious and served to order. We enjoyed our stay here!
The location was excellent, the beach only a 5 minute walk away and the town centre also 5 minutes with lots of restaurants in easy walking distance, yet the accommodation was in a nice quiet street.
It was a lovely cottage everything you need, great location from city centre, left essentials to start your holiday with, will definitely be back to stay when going to Ayr again
Very nice hotel. Staff are always pleasant. Short walk to both seafront and centre of ayr. I would highly recommend the Kylestrome to anyone looking for accommodation in ayr.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The Seaview room was spotless. Overall I'd definitely recommend this place to my friends. I will return to the Horizon Hotel
It was super clean and comfortable. The owners were so accommodating and friendly. By far the best breakfasts we’ve had throughout our many trips to Scotland!!!
