I stayed in what l think was maybe an old coach house so it was quieter and less busy than the main hotel. I really enjoyed the space and had a lovely bathroom. The decor of the room was just to my taste.

I was asked for a £50 deposit after check in, apparently the hotel has been damaged in the past by residents and the caretaker wrote to me to ask me for a £50 deposit that could be refunded if the room wasn't damaged - the request was from 'Mike', not on headed notepaper, was this a scam?

Choice of breakfast cooked and continental, very tasty and well presented. Large areas in bar and restaurant , great decor, Room was quiet and all mod cons, with excellent bathroom and TV, and outside garden feature with small Lake and nesting Duck, certainly will return when in the area. Well done to everyone at the Hotel !

I liked the walk in shower rather than a shower over a bath. The room was also really quiet, so often hotels are located on busy roads. Dinner was excellent, i can't eat potatoes and the dish i picked contained potatoes however the chief happily adapted the recipe to produce a really tasty curry without any potato- greatly appreciated. The staff were all friendly and cheerful, happy in their work which is such a tonic.
