The Cookie Jar, hotel in Warkworth

Featuring free WiFi and a terrace, The Cookie Jar (Alnwick) was formerly the Convent of Mercy, and is just 0.2 miles from the center of Alnwick.

Words really fail me to explain how special this property was. The attention to every single detail was exquisite. I’m a professional organizer. My business is details. I’ve never seen anything like this. Everything - even the lights on the floor that automatically come on when you walk into the bathroom - was planned perfectly when this former convent was remodeled to make a sacred space for all its guests. There was even framed sheet music in the halls to, I assume, pay homage to the beautiful music that must’ve once graced the hallways. The staff was so warm and welcoming. The breakfast buffet was like something out of a Veranda magazine spread. The breakfast was delicious. At every turn in the hotel and the room itself, we were met with a delightful and unexpected experience. Who puts this much thought into a public space? The Cookie Jar does. You made our once-in-a-lifetime trip unforgettable.

    Love Warkworth. A beautiful village.

Love Warkworth. A beautiful village. The castle was magnificent. Was disappointed that the hermatige wasn't open though. Beach stunning and bus easy to catch to Alnwick. There are two lovely shops selling reasonably priced unique items. The most dog friendly place I have ever been too.

Warkworth is a lovely place but the main street is quite steep. However, most of the lovely shops are customer friendly. the castle is worth a visit and there is a lovely walk by the river. We loved Grays and The Potting Shed. We ate at other places so cant recommend any in Warkworth but we especially enjoyed the Italian fish restaurant { Carlini? }in Alnwick.

Our room overlooked Warkworth Castle and was set back off the main road making it the perfect spot to explore the town and within easy walk along the river to Amble and it's lovely quayside. Food was amazing everywhere we visited in town and although we didn't eat in the hotel, the food looked nice and the bar was lovely and friendly staff made us more than welcome

We had an enjoyable stay in the Warkworth House Hotel. The room was splendid - large and quiet at the back of the hotel. The breakfast was good with a good choice which was pre-ordered the night before. We had dinner in the restaurant on the first night and enjoyed our dishes. The service was good throughout the stay and we will return in the future.

Once we’d found the place we thought it was a nice location it is remote but only a few mins from Warkworth and 10 minutes drive from Amble. If after reading this review you still chose to stay ignore the location provided by Host & Stay it directs you to field opposite!!! Follow Mill Farm sign…

The area is super cute. Not alot in actual Warkworth , but Bertrams for breakfast and The Masons for dinner has everything you need. The decor is lovely in the flat and a well kitted out kitchen and hot shower. Excellent WiFi and a perfect little snug/ dining area for working at.

Nothing as didn't get the chance. Even though had a confirmation from booking.com the hotel denied we had a booking. Wherever the problem came from either hotel or booking.com nobody was particularly bothered that we were left with no accommodation at 16.00 on the day.
