Our room had a balcony with a fantastic view of the estuary. Very nice for relaxing and enjoying the water and weather. We were given a room upgrade too.

Enjoyed my one-night stay at this lovely pub. The décor is smart and modern, the room had a fabulous bathroom with a standalone bath. Good selection of teas in the room. The staff were friendly and welcoming. As other reviewers have said, it is noisy in the evenings but earplugs are provided. I didn’t use them and still slept fine. Breakfast was delicious – fresh and good choices.

Cornwall council need to improve the roads. We are not in 1904. This is a major UK destination and it needs a footpath to keep people safe and bays where people can pull in on the extremely narrow roads. Parking is a nightmare.. the council could do a park and ride scheme.
The shops are good with little boutique finds, welcoming and happy staff, Clean beaches and lovely busy atmosphere. The hotels are expensive but this reflects its a very nice destination.

A beautiful town. Extremely welcoming.
A beautiful town. Extremely welcoming. The shops were great with some wonderful local shops such as the Salcombe candle company, Salcombe Dairy chocolate and the wonderful Salcombe Gin! Whilst there we took part in Gin School to make our sun gin which was fantastic.
There are some great pubs serving delicious food too. We tried the Ferry Inn and had a lovely time. They gave a quiz on Thursday evenings which is great fun too!
Parking looked to be difficult, as with most small towns, we were lucky enough to have parking at the hotel. So I would recommend getting there early.
This was our first trip to Salcombe, we fell in love with it and can’t wait to go back.

The views amazing
Very relaxing place … nice vibe .
Beds really comfortable
Spa and massage very good
Breakfast good selection , although the portions varied daily .
Evening meal more choice for vegetarian
Might be nice to have a couple specials available
Mid morning coffee would be lovely to be offered a biscuit with it.
The staff were very pleasant and accommodating .
Would have liked the rooms cleaned earlier as it was 3pm and had to ask as my 91 year old mum liked to sit in her room in the afternoon.
Overall a great stay
Thank you .

We know Salcombe very well and have been going there for over 30 years. It's a great location to stay offering good facilities and access to beach/boating
opportunities. Day visits are possibly more problematic due to limited parking.

We used the park and ride service.
We used the park and ride service. We had to pay for the car park and bus, which is unusual. There was a gap between 13.10 and 15.00 which was a pain. The town is expensive and a good place to spend a day.

The Crab Shed Restaurant was excellent, the food was excellent and served by friendly helpful staff. The town itself was small but had good shops and a good bakery. Parking was easy, the streets were clean and the locals were friendly. However, beware of the Victoria Inn when considering accommodation it’s a place to keep clear of.
We stayed in the hotel for 3 nights for our babymoon. Would highly recommend for a staycation. Very helpful and friendly staff. Excellent restaurant on site with a beautiful view. Great breakfast with hot and cold options. I had a pregnancy massage in the spa which was very relaxing. Great location as right on South sands bay. You can walk into Salcombe town however there are a few hills to manage. The hotel provides a free shuttle service to their sister hotel every day as well.
The location was amazing on the South Sands coast and a lovely quiet area with access to the main town. Staff were very obliging and friendly. I had dinner there as well as breakfast and the food was exceptional. I was due to stay there last December but due to a death in the family I had to cancel at short notice. The hotel very kindly refunded my money so I felt I'd like to stay there again when I got the chance. I'd come again which is the highest praise I can give a hotel.
Beautyfull house and room, wonderfull decoration, very clean, wonderfull hostess and host (helped us with adjusted breakfast (food intolerances) and with our car break down during a public holiday), lovely garden view, parking space for our rental car on the premiss, close to a local pub and supermarket and bus stop. Wonderfull place to stay over for one or 2 nights on (y)our way e.g. to the beach in the south. Our best bed and breakfast in the UK so far.
Centrally located and recently refurbished to a high standard. We loved the garden level open plan kitchen and dining area with its super large rustic dining table and WiFi connected TV on the wall. The Bed rooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable too. The bathrooms were lovely with all mod cons. Overall we all agreed we would love to stay again sometime as we only had 1 night as visiting for a party at a local hotel.
Location is great, but quiet. This is what we were after for a few nights but if you want shops, pubs etc….then it’s not really near anything. The hotel is lovely and modern. Food was great one night and breakfast was good. Staff are great, very friendly but without being too much. Shuttle bus to Salcombe is really useful.
Our second stay at Suncot - Great apartment for 2 people. Very clean and well equipped - also the parking space is a great bonus as many holiday lets in Salcombe do not offer this. The grocery starter pack which also included a bottle of Prosecco was a lovely touch.
This is an outstanding hotel. a fantastic setting, spotless and flawless. the food is outstanding and the staff are friendly and attentive.
I would recommend Gara Rock to everyone.
I have been lucky to stay in some fantastic hotels but Gar Rock is now my favorite.
Ideal location for Salcombe and the Beautiful Beaches and Coves. Great area for walking. We stayed in the Garden View Apartment which was very clean, furnished to a high standard and very comfortable. Jo is a fantastic and very helpful host! Many Thanks
Location is perfect on South Sands - front row seats with a stunning view.
Room was clean, up to date and spacious with excellent bathroom and good in room facilities.
Parking was excellent and very convenient - a must in Salcombe
Good location easy to walk to Salcombe town. Lovely comfortable living area and bedrooms. Thank you Freya for the welcome bottle of Wine & Devon Fudge we received on arrival.
Stunning sea view location, ambience, incredible food and staff extremely welcoming & friendly. great spa facilities, dog friendly and rooms well equipped and cosy.
Excellent location in the middle of Salcombe. Extremely friendly and helpful staff made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was superb. Thanks to everyone.
