It did what it said. Cheap hotel room for the family. Clean, great size room, dog friendly, basically on the beach, heart of town, money not going to big corporation like premier. Support your local, lovely hotel that welcomes you. Not our first stay and we will be back

Whitley Bay is an up and coming town with some lovely shops.
Whitley Bay is an up and coming town with some lovely shops. It also has easy access to Newcastle and the surrounding area by road and by Metro. In the summer Whitley Bay is busy but in the winter it is much quieter.
I have visited this town many times while visiting my daughter. On this occasion my visit was not a holiday; I was helping my daughter to move house.

Whitley Bay is ideally place for walks along the coastal path both North up to Blyth and South down to South Shields and the pretty Souter lighthouse.
Be sure to try to time a visit to St Mary's lighthouse for a spot of seal spotting.
The walks along the promenades down to Tynemouth are all on the level with plenty of eating and drinking options.
If time allows be sure to get the tram into Newcastle Central and the train from there to Durham to visit the marvellous cathedral and castle

I loved the walks along the coast to the lighthouse and to see Spanish City. In the opposite direction it is nice to walk along the coast to Cullercoats and on to Tynemouth. The walks are peaceful and the little shops at Tynemouth are lovely. There are plenty of coffee shops along the way and fish and chip shops if you get peckish. Parking is relatively cheap in Cullerboats but you may need to wait if the car park is busy, for someone to get chatting to.
Quite simply the best guest house I've ever stayed in. The whole property is spotlessly clean and Paul and Lee go the extra mile to ensure you enjoy your stay. Always ready to impart their brilliant local knowledge - they are tremendous ambassadors for Whitley Bay and indeed the North East. Breakfast was cooked to order and was fantastic on each of our three mornings as we worked our way through a varied menu. If you're planning a trip to Whitley Bay this property should be your first choice. Thanks for a wonderful visit.
The hotel was better than expected, could see the sea from the front doorstep! Staff were really friendly and welcoming, the room was huge and it had separate bath and shower. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of tea and coffee.
We ate breakfast there one morning, we booked this when we arrived and had a rick sheet to pre-order, there were lots of choice from cereal to cooked breakfast and it was really nice.
Plenty free on street parking, plus parking lot in rear of property. A stones throw from for Cullercoats beach, with Whitley bay and Tynemouth a short walk. Co-op at the end of the street very useful. Sizeable bedrooms and beds very comfortable, excellent wi-fi and a fabulous tea-pot
Great apartment, very well equiped with all the essentials provided for a comfortable stay.
Excellent location for exploring Whitley Bay, Cullercoats, Tynemouth, Newcastle, Seaton Deleval and a great base for exploring the whole of the North East region.
Beautiful setting close to Whitley bay and Tynemouth Priory and Castle. For us, a starting point for Holy Island and Bamburgh castle. Great and helpful hosts, beautiful horses, dogs, and donkey. Private parking, very clean. Good food in local pub
Really enjoyed our stay, really lovely hotel, very comfortable and extremely clean, very welcoming and friendly staff, great location, breakfast was excellent....if we are ever in the area again I won't be looking for anywhere else to stay.
The guesthouse is ideally located on the sea front the room we were in was excellent the shower room was very good.
The breakfast was excellent and made fresh a full English.
Definitely a 5 star stay and will be going back soon
The room was large and the view was wonderful! The breakfast was Second to none, the Staff we really friendly and welcoming! We have stayed at the Royal Hotel before and no dout will stay again.
Location is great. Rooms good apart from issues listed later. Good breakfast. Receptionist was really friendly and resolved the problem we had superbly. And dog friendly hotel.
The Metropolitan guest House had all the makings of a 5star Hotel. It was superb in a great location with very kind and helpful staff. I will be going back again for certain.
Very clean bathroom, with plenty of hot water. Room had a fabulous view. Very centrally located. Good car parking near. Great breakfast served by a very lovely lady.
A very nice comfy room, clean bathroom and very good smell of sheet. It's also very close with just 5 minutes walk to Whitley Bay Metro to Newcastle City Centre
Spotlessly clean, with all the comforts of home, close to a beautiful beach, good eateries, and bars, with the Metro to Newcastle, just 10 minutes walk away.
