We were in Ipswich to watch the last championship match of the season at Portman Road.
We arrived on the Friday night and shared an amazing tomahawk steak at "The Grill At Twenty5" which had a lovely atmosphere and wonderful staff.
We watched the match on Saturday and spent the rest of the day soaking up the atmosphere with the wonderful Ipswich fans.
After sobering up and taking a break from the wonderful sun shine, we had our evening meal at Mariners in the marina which hosts a French restaurant on a restored 19th century boat with heaps of history and character.
We had to leave early on Sunday but would have loved to explorer further afield.
Will be back next season to see a premiership game (ticket permitting).

i liked Ipswich ,the town is small but with very nice old architecture from Tudor era, mix with Victorian style of course the moderns one are present there too. The coffee shop are the best you will remember Ipswich for this for a very long time. There is a park to visit which is very close to the centre. Suggestion: walk in the park visit the Christchurch Mansion Museum for free go to the top but when you come back take the streets along the park you will meet with beautiful, beautiful houses. In Ipswich you don't get lonely the people are very nice there , they are quick to know you and have a chat. Then there is Marina....a good place for a restaurant where you find different dishes from different countries. Then there is a football stadium too. There is lots to see around Ipswich. There are two important markets with bus station so from Cat Market I travel by bus to WoodBridge, Kersey and Felixstowe with best fish and chips etc the villages are one more appealing then other that I recommend you to visit.

Maybe we are not looking in the right places but our view of Ipswich is that of a run-down, sad town. Even the waterfront seems an unhappy place.
The nicest hotel-run restaurant we could find for breakfast by the waterfront was probably a lovely place at some point but was worn out and in desperate need of redecoration. We run away from Ipswich for the third time, to decompress in beautiful Suffolk countryside where there are dozens of nice, well looked after towns

I've lived in Ipswich for a good 15+ years.
I've lived in Ipswich for a good 15+ years.
Since my return it has changed for the worse and just feels empty and lacking of anything worthwhile to do.
Parks are good (mainly in the town), lots of charity shops, bookies and pubs but lots of high street shops have closed or just boarded up.
Out of the town, lots of nice pubs to visit and walks if you have a pet or two.

The city has easily available, if you have a car, or like a walk. Access to supermarkets for us as we prefered to dine-in. Plus easy access to points of interest in Suffolk. Great selection of National Trust properties within day-trip distance.

We visit Ipswich Atleast once a year to see family, it is a pleasant city with plenty to see and do. If you are driving I recommend paying close attention to your satnav because the roads can be slightly confusing! There is a lot of history behind Ipswich which can be fascinating also. There are plenty of places to dine and drink whether that’s at a local McDonald’s or a restaurant you won’t be short handed.
The room, a superior double, called Tisane was a very pleasant space. It had a big comfortable bed, two arm chairs, plenty of floor space, 2 big windows, an outside door, little private courtyard with outdoor seating with table, the bathroom had good lighting. The whole space was clean and in good decorative order. There was even a little fridge. I would very happily stay in that room again. The whole hotel looks beautiful. I would definitely stay again if in the area.
Easy to find, good car parking. Only 50 yards to railway station to get into Ipswich. Staff very accommodating and helpful. Dinner was very good . Outlook to rear was over open fields and air handling equipment was barely audible. Quiet from mid evening. Large and comfortable bed. Wouldn't hesitate to book there again. Rooms to front may suffer from noise from railway and level crossing warning siren - freight works through the night to Felixstowe.
Location fantastic for train station and 20 min walk into town centre. .
Hotel reception/bar area fantastic and welcoming.
Staff friendly and helpful. .
Room was fantastic! So bright and clean.

Very happy with our stay
Staff very pleasant, room clean, comfortable bed, good shower, convenient to have restaurant on site, very good selection for breakfast and it served my needs at the time. Location very convenient to the A14 but can be slow getting from the 14 to the hotel at "rush Hour".
The hotel is in a great location in Ipswich, free parking which is a bonus.
Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Breakfast is supplied in a takeaway style bag but contents were just right to start your day.
Would definitely stay again if in the area.
Hotel is well placed for for an evening event we attended in Ipswich. It has a great look and feel and our room was well appointed and comfortable. Breakfast was great. The staff of reception dealt very well with a noise issue we had encountered.
Staff were fantastic, lovely spot on the Marina, the hotel itself very clean and great decor. Everyone was very welcoming, child and Pet friendly too. The parking and concierge service was great. Nice selection of eateries nearby.
Owners were very helpful. There was parking for my motorcycle and they let me stay longer after official checkout time because the room was not booked on the day.
The hotel is fairly central. Perfect for a short stay.
Such a lovely stay for my family of six! Clean rooms and bathroom, comfy beds, delicious meals, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere created by all the staff. Would definitely stay here again if we're in the area.
It met our expectations for an inexpensive stay in Ipswich. Parking was a challenge and be careful they like to give parking tickets if you are over the line even a little. The bed was very comfortable.
The hotel was clean and lovely.
