The Letwick is situated right on the bay, with stunning views of the bay's coastline. We even had the joy of watching a sea otter hunt from right in front of our room! The TV was one of the largest we've had in any of our many stays in the UK. The staff at reception were phenomenal, and worked very hard to improve our experience.

The room, the facilities, the people all exceed my expectations. I've travelled from Kent to Cornwall, from Lowland to Highland, never been so pleased with the good environment and friendly people.

Loved the view of the water from our room. Loved that we had a hidden opening to a second small room behind the bookcase. Loved the breakfast. Located a short walk from Commercial Street and the Harbor of Lerwick and as we were fortunate to have good weather (except for wind), enjoyed the walk.

The manager that took care of our stay arranged a different room for us than the one we had reserved, because we are somewhat elderly and not really able to handle stairs. He prepared a room especially for us that we could access with the lift. He went above and beyond to help us! Helped us with laundry facilities etc. Great guy!

Fantastic location with beautiful 2 bedroom home and fully furnished, beautiful kitchen with even an espresso maker, stove and oven, full size fridge, dishwasher and laundry facilities! WiFi. Host David is very responsive, helpful and friendly. Home is centrally located, right next to the Fort, beautiful TownHall, and a couple steps from Commercial St, with lots of businesses and restaurants. And also wonderfully quiet. Highly recommend!

I was in Lerwick during a stretch of unpleasant weather - cold and rainy with strong winds sometimes gusting at gale force. I would not recommend October or probably not winter. I will return, but next time in May or June! The city and surrounding towns are worth the visit. Next time I make the journey I will go to Kirkwall, too,

This is where you need to base if you want to explore the Shetland Islands. We found a great tour guide who took us all the way to the northern end of Unst and with his 40+ year history on the island was a wealth of information. Message me if you want his contact info.
We also did one of the wildlife boat tours which was great!

We very much enjoyed seabird watching tour departing from the small boat ferry port in Lerwick, which is really recommended! We brought a car rented at Aberdeen to Orkney/Shetland by ferries and it was nicely worked. Taking your own car is recommend as the great bird watching and archaeological sites are far away from Lerwick. Unfortunately the puffin season was over when we were in the Orkney/Shetland. I would like to visit again to see puffins!

Lerwick, well known to many people because of the TV series 'Shetland', is a charming town with many interesting features. Most importantly, the people are very friendly and welcoming to visitors, a good thing as during the summer months it is a regular stop off for cruise ships.
The town centre is tucked just behind the sea front and contains interesting local shops, cafes and restaurants. Our favourite was 'The Dowry', which has great food and excellent coffee. Visit Fort Charlotte, take a walk around the Nab for breathtaking views, catch a ferry across the sound to the island of Bressay, peruse the outstanding (and free) Shetland Museum or walk out of town to explore the ancient Broch of Clickimin. Of course, there is also a tour of the locations used to film 'Shetland'.

Lerwick is a great base for shorter excursions around the islands. We could have stayed longer for more hiking and half/full day visits. Shetland has a lot to offer. The nature is outstanding and people are very friendly.
We really enjoyed our tour with Lara Thomason who guided us around south Shetland and took us the the north west cliffs of Shetland. Very knowledgeable and pleasant to hang with. Next time it will be for hiking!

A lovely place with plenty to do.
A lovely place with plenty to do. Those of you who want to relax can enjoy the amazing scenery and wildlife from many locations around Lerwick and even when having a coffee or eating dinner at some of the locations.
Pleasantly surprised that keeping rooms warm is a thing in the Shetlands.
Warm room, simple but hot reliable shower.
Very nice. It's not like a modern hotel but felt cozy.
Like staying at your Gran's but better. Breakfast was lovely and so was the lady who serves it. She gave us lots of nice conversation and helpful advise.
I also like that the other tourists who stay here are totally not like the brits you find in Alicante
The breakfast area is a place to hear interesting stories and pick up tips of where to go.
If you know you know!
This is gem in the Shetlands.
Do ‘t let the plain outwardly appearance of this hotel fool you.
Inside it’s delightful, with clean, modern rooms , comfortable beds and excellent cooking. with the hosts extremely friendly and welcoming.
The best seafood and Lobster around !
There is also an extensive whisky bar!
Queen's Hotel is one of the Lerwick lodberries being a building protruding out into the harbour.
Room 229 is on the top floor looking out over Bressay Sound to the east. If you follow the TV series Shetland the view to the south is over Bain’s Beach to the house of Jimmy Perez just 50 metres away.
Loved the view of the water from our room. Loved that we had a hidden opening to a second small room behind the bookcase. Loved the breakfast. Located a short walk from Commercial Street and the Harbor of Lerwick and as we were fortunate to have good weather (except for wind), enjoyed the walk.
Just a short walk from the centre of Lerwick, the hosts of this beautiful apartment have thought of everything. It's spotlessly clean and kitted out with everything you could possibly need for a perfect stay, the peace & quiet and sea view from the living room were an added bonus.
Breakfast was exceptional. When they clean your room they give you it in an hamper so you have it for the next day. There was enough to snack on through the day too. Microwave, toaster, kettle and coffee machine all in room. Ideal location right in the heart of lerwick
The property was convenient to town, clean, comfortable, and had all of the amenities of home (the shower water pressure was even better than home! LOL)
The proprietor and her family were very friendly.
I can’t imagine wanting to stay anywhere else whilst in Lerwick!
The hotel proprietors were wonderful people, they made us feel welcome and were very accommodating. We would go back there again and were actually sorry we didn't stay there longer. The food was great as well as the hospitality. It was a wonderful experience!
Loved the location, very walkable around town. The hosts were very helpful- I was able to leave my luggage both before and after the trip as I was on the ferry, arriving early and leaving Lerwick later in the day. The breakfasts were great.
location was marvelous view of loch and clickimin broch lovely cicular wak around loch about a mile long handy for shops and town center nice restaurant we discovered on fourth day Lerwick and Shetland lovely
location was perfect and the breakfast was exceptional. Although the hotel is a little dated it is clean and comfortable and the staff were really friendly all in all a great stay.
Although the room was spotlessly clean, the hotel was EXTREMELY tired and most of the furniture, fixtures and fittings should have been replaced years ago.
