The hosts live upstairs and were quite warm and friendly. They gave us a great orientation tour and answered all our questions. They thought of many small details like providing reusable bottles of water and having a few snacks. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom spacious with plenty of hot water. The home was impeccably clean. The location is remote, which was our desire, but still only about a 7-8 minute drive from center of town. Highly recommend.
A traditional British pub, the Red Lion offers rooms with attached bathroom, home-cooked food and cask ales. It is 2 miles from Coniston Water and has views of the Old Man.

Megan was a wonderful host- she answered all our questions and even allowed us a traveling breakfast on one morning we needed to leave early. Her husband Peter was wonderful in showing us around the farm animals and even did a sheep shearing and sheep dog demonstration for us. The farm is off the beaten path and gave me some great opportunities to practice driving a manual car. This property has great views and allowed us to get some good relaxation. Highly recommend!

A small Lake District market town with local shops and a 'stately home' in whose parkland one can walk for miles along mown paths. Lovely to see people sitting outside in the market place enjoying the recent hot weather. There is a one-way system for traffic as the roads are quite narrow. Plenty of space for parking when I was there.

Broughton is a charming, tiny, market town that has kept its farming character, unlike some Lakeland neighbours. There is everything the tourist most needs, but it feels like a real working town, not an overdeveloped honeypot. It has spectacular views over the estuary of Duddon Sands and is very convenient for the delightful Duddon Valley and Coniston Fells, one of the best parts of Lakeland for the visitor.

Broughton in Furness only has three pubs and both the King's Head and the Black Cock Inn are the two best ones with exceptionally high quality food. The village itself is tiny and is a step back in time as it's so old-fashioned - especially the Black Cock Inn as it's so cosy, ancient and charming. There's another pub 3 miles up the road in Broughton Mills that's even older than the Black Cock Inn - The Blacksmith Arms or something like that - and that's well worth checking out too !!!

Great location lovely village with cafe , bakery and butcher Two lovey traditional pubs one that serves great food .The cottage is very welcoming it’s bright and modern well equipped with towels hairdryer and kitchen equipment/utensils. The cottage does have low beams upstairs but this mentioned in the booking site and you just adapt. The bedroom has a blind for the velux window ( I read in a review it needed one) so does block out the light .Really enjoyed the four nights here and would definitely go back
Superb value for money. Everything we needed Very cosy. 3 local pubs, 2 of which did excellent food. Lovely walks on the doorstep. Great base from which to explore. Wasdale highly recommended. Absolutely stunning scenery.Have attached 2 photos. Get advice from a local on how to get there though. It took forever using the sat nav. I never go back to the same place twice as I love to see different places but I would make an exception here as there are so many places to go to nearby.
We booked two holiday cottages; one for a single adult and one for four adults. Everyone was delighted with everything. The cottages are comfortable, clean and offer all the facilities you could wish for. Jean and Claire who run the farm and the cottages are wonderful hosts. The location is superb if you like beautiful scenery, a bit of isolation from everyday life and the challenge of driving over the fells and up a long farm track to get there.
Great stay for a few days. Comfortable beds, cosy feel. Lovely village, local bakery, pubs within a few minutes walk, great base for driving to Buttermere and Coniston. Bread, milk, biscuits and drinks available on arrival. Parking on the road right near house. Shop opposite. Variety of games to play, plenty of kitchen amenities. Nice big towels and extra bedding if needed. Friendly neighbours.
Small but cute home
Booked initially as just a base camp as myself and my wife visited areas of the lakes and clambered up Scafell pike however it was much more than we hoped for, lovely well serviced room with comfortable clean firm bed excellent breakfast and a great selection of evening meals from the pubs A la carte menu, which in turn were very tasty!
basics and essentials were provided. Considering we stayed during cold weather the log cabin was extremely warm and cosy!! The bathroom was amazing, and come with a gorgeous optional view! definitely worth the money and stay!!
Really cosy little pub, very big spacious rooms and has got 3 pubs in the village plus various shops as well. Will definitely go be coming back, the lady running the bar and showed us to our room was very friendly
Very nice and comfortable apartment with a fantastic bathroom. The location was perfect, almost immediately at the Square, the town centre, with all shops and pubs within short reach. We liked it a lot :))
We enjoyed our stay tremendously! The room was comfortable and the food was delicious. The atmosphere of The Old Kings Head was wonderful and Broughton in Furness is a really lovely village.
