Lerwick was basked in sunshine and very warm for our whole stay. Highly recommend a walk along the waterside from the Mareel (great coffee and cakes) to the Knab. Stunning views. We also took the boat trip to Noss - the sights and sounds of the birds were amazing. But the sheer scale of the cliffs! Plenty of places to sit and take in the beautiful water. Lerwick has a lot to offer.
Lerwick has a lot to offer. It's ideal as a base for exploring around Shetland and has decent pubs and restaurants for the evening. The Dowry and Fjara were excellent for evening meals. Some of the scenery and views around Shetland are stunning, particularly the tombolo across to St Ninians Island. Don't miss the puffins at Sumburgh.Guest review byweebud64 - 10.0
We stayed in Lerwick for 5 nights.
We stayed in Lerwick for 5 nights. It’s the perfect location to explore and travel all the islands. My only advice would be to book excursions and evening meals, in restaurants before you arrive. There are only two restaurants open on a Monday night, we ended up eating fish and chips! Ce la vie and Faraj are excellent restaurants. Pete’s cafe has excellent coffee and home made cakes. The Noss seabird excursion is a must to see gannet colonies and the cliffs, giving a different perspective of the islands.Guest review byAngieUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Very interesting place with lots to do.
Very interesting place with lots to do. If you come in on early ferry at 7.30 am consider booking from night before so you can get in early to your accommodation. A car is needed if you want to see around the Shetlands but lots to do close to Lerwick. Pubs don’t serve food so plan your restaurant bookings not all restaurants open everyday.Guest review byrichardAustralia - 10.0

Lerwick in the main town on Shetland it has a Tesco's and a coop both of which have most things you need loads of tourist shops and post cards book shop was lovely the Shetland museum is free to enter ( donations) the marvel center was lovely we saw a film and enjoyed an interactive show the bar is lovely and light and there seems to be alot happening there!!
