The Royal Hotel - Clacton On Sea, hotel in Brightlingsea

Located on the beachfront in Clacton-on-Sea, The Royal Hotel - Clacton On Sea features a bar.

Location was awful, noise from the Pier was so loud. Sea view we paid extra for was pointless as the very large fairground machines completely obscured this. Breakfast ok but tea brought to the table with a teabag in the cup and milk already added

    Loved Brightlingsea.

Loved Brightlingsea. We were pleasantly surprised how peaceful and pretty it was. The museum was very interesting and loved the lake & beach huts. We ate at the Yachtsman twice and the Rosebud. Enjoyed our meals at both places. We travelled out most days to Mersea, Dedham, Holland -0n -Sea, Maldon and Colchester and would recommend all these places.

Brightlingsea is a quaint little town.

Brightlingsea is a quaint little town. Only one way in one way out everyone said and it’s true. Lovely fish and chips in Winkees and a great selection in the kebab shop we even brought some home there was so much left over. The pub we stayed in The Freemasons arms is so friendly and live music most weekends. We went to the promanade to see a music festival which although weather not great we still had a great time. Also it’s not far from clacton on sea where there is lots to do there. A great stay.

The hosts were super helpful with the keys for a late arrival. I was working for the week in Colchester a 30 mins drive away and this apartment was a great choice. Home from home as opposed to a soulless premier inn (sorry Lenny Henry!). Bijou but comfortable and a nice surprise was the new wifi. I was up early for work but could road noise may be an issue for a late lie in. Would not hesitate to book again when in the area. .

Stayed here as needed a quick overnight stay in the local area, the property was well presented and very clean. Thought the pint of milk in the fridge was a very nice touch as able to make a drink on arrival. Plenty of parking available nearby, I would definitely want to stay here again.

Location was brilliant. Excellent for exploring Essex and Brightlingsea was lovely. It was a cosy house with good facilities in a very quiet area and a Co-op was literally 5 minutes walk away. Would rate the cottage as 3 star not 4 for the reasons stated below....
