Athens is the capital of one of the countries considered to be the cradle of western civilization, enough said!
The Acropolis hill, with ancient theatres, the Parthenon temple and the Erekterion temple and its cariatids, alogn with the Acropolis Museum are the highlight of the city. Athens is also rich in amazing archeological sites that are thousands of years old, which are the testimony of the pinnacle of the ancient greek civilization. A must-see for who is interested in ancient history!

Athens is a busy, noisy tourist city with much to see and do, although it is constantly developing because of the mass of visitors.
It is easy to get around by metro - fast and safe, even late at night.

Had heard Athens was a rough city, and I did find it run down looking w many empty buildings and tons of graffiti! however there were many pedestrian streets in the old city filled with life and restaurants. Tons of trees! it was super easy to get around and taxis were cheap I used Uber everyday. It was too hot to do the monuments which they actually closed due to heat while I was there but there are SO many great museums here! The food was AWESOME surprisingly so!

crowded, but fun.
crowded, but fun. Too hot - solved by using ferry to the islands, that was great (Aegistri and Mona).
Went to Acropolis as soon as opened in the morning and can not immagine oterwise - because of the crowds and the heat.
Dont skip Akropolis museum, it makes the visit complete.
Buy skip the line ticket expecially to Acropolis!!
Good public transport.
Nice flea market on Sunday.
Dont miss changing of the guards - very special gait, should see.
Great gardens, turtles in the lake.
Evripidou Suites is wonderfully located in central Athens, within very close or easy walking distance to an excellent market and the Ermou Street shopping precinct. My room was generous in size, had lovely decor and was well sound-proofed, making it a real oasis in a potentially noisy central location. I had a lovely breakfast in the hotel's rooftop cafe, with an excellent view of the Acropolis. I stayed only one night at the end of my trip, but plan to stay there on my next visit to Greece and would highly recommend it to others.
Staff was very nice, i asked for early check in in advance and they cleaned the room earlier so we could get in. Very center location, restaurant and supermarket nearby. Rooftop with Acropolis view is real bonus. It's not a brand new hotel but its clean and comfortable. Breakfast was standard with egg ham cheese and several greece pastry. But no complain with the price and location its worth the money. We rent family room and turned out its 2 rooms with connecting door and 2 bathroom! Great one !
- Excellent location in the heart of Athens. The surrounding streets are crammed with traditional tavernas and restaurants, many with Acropolis views.
- The rooms are nicely decorated and clean. The room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable.
- They pay attention to detail in their breakfast with all their items being freshly made and delicious.
It is a very nice hotel the staff are so kind and helpful. Would recommend to go and visit here add this to your tour of Greece.
Valahouse was perfect, and the hosts were wonderful! Natalia and Evangelos were very warm, welcoming, attentive, and responsive. They went above and beyond to answer our questions. They also left homemade cookies for us that were delicious and a sweet surprise! The accommodations were perfect for us! Uber rides were easy to and from here to Athens and affordable. Super convenient to our son who was studying at Deree (American College of Greece).
Beautiful hotel with a rooftop terrace and views of the Acropolis! Clean and comfortable room. As others have stated, the bathroom and shower are very tiny, but we made it work. And they are updated and pretty, and the shower has great pressure. Great location for walking around the city. The staff were all very kind and helpful. We would stay here again and hopefully we'll be back because we love Greece!
This Hotel is simply amazing and worths way more than only 2-stars. Best breakfast that we had in whole Greece on a rooftop with stunning view over the Acropolis. Cosy and spacious and stylish rooms and located in the best neighborhood in Athens (at least in my opinion.) Best restaurants, nice little shops, authentic and no tourist atmosphere and only 1 metro-ride from monastiraki.
If I ever return to Athens this will be my first choice of a place to stay. Best place I stayed at in Greece.
Super friendly and helpful staff. Clean, quiet, very big, the bed is one of the best I've had at a hotel, AC works great, perfect hot water and pressure, wifi works great, kitchen and living room, amazing value for what you pay, good location, and has an elevator.
It is a little oasis in the middle of a busy part of Athens. Breakfast was excellent, and they even packed us a breakfast for our early flight. The room we had was awesome with a view of the Acropolis. Shower was spacious and the bed the most comfortable of our trip to Greece. They helped arrange transports for us to and from the airport as well. All great things to say!
Top notch luxury hotel in the area, with very spacious lobby with multiple seating areas, bar and unique rooftop views to the Athens sightings. Great bed, super comfortable and stylish. Food at the great hotel's restaurant was great and abundant. Reasonable prices for autumn so I will highly recommended to my friends who want to visited Greece for vacations.
The apartment was beautiful, clean and newly renovated with a nice balcony. The kitchen was also new with all the appliances and even a coffee machine with coffee pods. There is a large lounge area and television with a lot of options something you don't find at a lot of accommodations in Greece. Definitely better than staying at any hotels in this area.
Getting access and the keys was easy. It is a very big apartment by Greece standards with no tv in the lounge room. It is located a minutes walk from Monastitaki station and an easy walk to the sites of Athens with no tv in the lounge room. Right across the road is a luggage storage shop, Mr John is more than happy to help with no tv in the lounge room.
Very convenient as the hotel is right in the airport. It was the perfect place to stay for one night between segments of our trip to Greece. The room and facilities were everything you would expect from Sofitel. Lovely bathroom with tub, and comfy beds and pillows. Restaurants were also very nice.
We loved this hotel:
The location is tactical for seeing Athens,
The staff at the hotel are really kind, really good breakfast (generous and made with yummy ingredients).
Our room was so beautiful and clean, best one we stayed in in our whole time in Greece. You won't regret booking this place!
Its location as it’s very close walking distance to everything you want to do as a tourist in Athens. We have been traveling through Italy and then Greece and this was one of the best air-conditioned we have had so far in the horrible heat of the summer.
Awesome staff , with pasted smile's across their face's each day.
Absolutely recommend Pan hotel Athens, we've been coming for almost 20 yrs , each time we're in Athens Greece.

Perfect location in a relatively quiet student dominated hip neighborhood. Walking distance to all the Athens sights! I've been traveling to Greece for many years and this is definitely my new go-to hotel in Athens!
