I had a fantastic stay here! The staff were exceptional—always approachable, available, and ready to assist with anything I needed. They made sure we have a parking spot which is a great luxury in Split downtown. They provided great information about the city, which made exploring so much easier. The location was perfect, within walking distance to the city center and close to many great restaurants. The property was spotless and felt new, with everything maintained to a high standard. Breakfast was delicious and a great way to start the day. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting.

I had a terrible experience at this hotel during my trip to Split, Croatia in July. I was assigned room 201 during an extremely hot week. The room was boiling hot, and the air conditioning didn’t work at all. I reported it to reception, and the staff member came up to check. She admitted it needed fixing. My daughter and I couldn’t even stay in the room because of the heat, so we left to find some relief in a nearby restaurant. Later, I was told the A/C was fixed — but when we returned, the room was still unbearably hot and blowing hot air. There was no phone in the room, so I had to keep going down to reception to complain. Eventually, I was told there were no other rooms available, and that room 201 and 202 shared the same broken A/C unit. The receptionist apologized and advised me to come back the next morning to speak to the manager. I packed our bags and left to find another place to stay. The receptionist clearly confirmed I would receive a full refund, and the next day the manager also promised this refund through Booking.com. However, after following up, the hotel blatantly denied making any such promise and only refunded me 50% of the amount. This is not just bad service — it’s dishonest and unacceptable. I trusted the hotel staff’s word and was lied to. If you value honesty, comfort, and basic hospitality, stay away from this hotel. There are many better and more professional places to stay in Split.

My husband and I stayed at the Murum Heritage Hotel for 3 nights while visiting Split. It was the highlight of our two week European vacation! First, we absolutely loved the location and ambience. Everything was steps outside our door. Speaking of which, they provided someone to meet us outside the palace walls (no cars can get to the hotel). It was a fairly short walk, but our escort took care of the luggage so we could take in the stunning medieval architecture. We wove through narrow alleyways that I never thought I would figure out(you get the hang of it fairly quickly!). The convenience factor alone was worth the stay, but it was so much more than that. Knowing we were there celebrating our 10 year anniversary, they surprised us by decorating our room with balloons and providing a bottle of local sparkling wine, as well as a fresh fruit bowl. From start to finish they went above and beyond from making us dinner reservations, to providing beach towels for our beach visit, to delivering ice when requested. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Being in such a boutique style hotel means high end customer service and they did not disappoint!! I can’t recommend this hotel enough and will absolutely be back to stay in the future!!!

FAQs about hotels in Split

The Sunny Side of Croatia

Stunning Split stands proudly on the eastern shores of the Adriatic Sea, and due to its great climate is called the Mediterranean Flower. It features eclectic architecture, spectacular views and delicious cuisine.

Split is centered around the ancient Roman Palace of the Emperor Diocletian, a magnificent building constructed at the beginning of the 4th century AD and featuring limestone and marble towers, columns and courtyards. It lies in a bay decorated with white sails of yachts, as sailing is definitely Split’s big thing!

The city is full of architectural gems, one of which is St. Duje’s Cathedral, the oldest cathedral in the world, built in 305 AD and combining both Roman and Catholic influences. Nearby Varoš is a must-see, one of the city’s oldest parts, full of charming streets and beautiful houses.

Make sure you visit the Bačvice Beach and the Riva promenade, popular with locals and full of cafés and palm trees. While on the hunt for local specialities, try soparnik - wood fired dough filled with vegetables - or local soft drinks Pipi and Orela.

So just pack your bags and head to Split Airport! Booking.com has plenty of sunny apartments, friendly guest houses and well-equipped hotels for your Split adventure.

Split is a compact city with a great food scene! Around every corner there seems to be a perfect photo opportunity, street food vendor to try or alleyway to explore. In peak season, it does get crowded but early in the morning or by late afternoon the crowds are manageable.

We only had an afternoon in Split, and for us this was enough. Being mid-summer, it was extremely busy. Diocletian's palace is amazing and free to look around a good deal of it. Don't be fooled by the two Roman centurions offering to pose with you for a photo - they will expect 10 Euros each as a thank you! It was nice walking the streets and feeling the buzz, but the feeling quickly wore off.

Beautiful city, lots of amazing architecture and buildings. City is historic and full of streets that are great for exploring. Restaurants and bars were brilliant both in variety and in quality. Laid back and sophisticated. People were super friendly and very helpful. Highly recommended Split for a break with friend, couples and family’s . The local beach is worth a visit.. no subbed but a casual take a towel and picnic place. The nationsl Krka park is only a couple of hours away and well worth a visit.

    Split is a walkable town.

Split is a walkable town. It was incredibly busy with lots of cruise ships docking daily, making the little streets very congested. However that said the city is beautiful. Loads of little cafes, bakeries and restaurants around every turn, so much beautiful architecture to see and explore. The beaches are stoney on a gorgeous coastline. We used the nextbikes to get around as it was easier than getting the buses and taxis. There are lots of great boat trips out of the docking area. People are lovely, abrupt but very chatty.

Split is truly a gem, a city that blends stunning history with vibrant coastal charm. From the breathtaking views of the Adriatic Sea to the winding stone streets of the Old Town, every corner is full of beauty and character. Having first visited Split in 1970 the changes have been huge. The growth of cheap flights has led to a massive increase in the numbers of tourists to the extent that in high season the streets and alleys are too crowded. The growth has led to a big increase in the number and choice of eateries and bars. However the prices charged are frequently ridiculous, in common with other places in Dalmatia, and in the long term will kill the 'golden goose'. It remains an excellent transport hub.

Our host went above and beyond for us! The room was impecable, snacks provided in the fridge, lots of amenities and in a beautiful, convenient location, so close to the old town but not too close, so noise wasn’t an issue. We were allowed to leave our bags in early and leave them with our host during the day before our late flight home. The tv even has Netflix and our host provided gorgeous little Croatian desserts for us on arrival. Really couldn’t rate this stay any higher, the nicest me & my partner have ever stayed in!

The room was lovely, right in the thick of Split, an easy walk into the Old Town and close to the city beaches. We loved staying here for a couple days, recovering after our Croatia Sail before traveling onwards. And our host was beyond kind, welcoming & helpful. We damaged something in the room in an accident and she was very warm & understanding. Thank you so much for your kindness!!
