great choices for breakfast. There was a staff person at the desk all the time, who could answer questions about how to get to places. There was free public parking juat around the corner from the hotel. We could easily get our bags to our room. Since we arrived at the end of the day, there were plenty of spaces, and it was safe!
Very big room. Camplus is apparently also a college dorm, which was fine for us. Lots of young people around.

Everything. We were greeted with a warm welcome. Our room was spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable and the linens were nice. The bathroom was modern and well equipped. The Breakfast Buffet was fabulous! The parking (by payment) was secure. We were not there long enough to make use of the small patio to the rear of the hotel. The Reception recommended a nearby restaurant for dinner where we had a fantastic meal.

Edgy and eclectic, Palermo is a symbol of all that Sicily stands for. From buzzing Vespas to the bustling Vucciria market, it simply brims with life.
Wonderful Palermo Cathedral glows radiantly in the Mediterranean sun. Nearby is the city’s last Sicilian Puppet Theater, and across the street is a palm-filled park housing Roman mosaics, though the best are in the archeological museum. At one end is the Norman Palace, a government building home to the fabulous Cappella Palatina, whose gold mosaics are absolutely breathtaking.
Equally magnificent are the gold mosaics lining the 12th-century Monreale Cathedral on the city’s outskirts. Wander the cloisters and note the varying columns and capitals – each pair is different.
Palermo also has fascinating churches: 2 of the oldest are 12th-century San Giovanni degli Eremeti and San Cataldo, each with red, Islamic-style domes. Gesú Church has an incredible Sicilian Baroque interior, while La Martorana’s frescoes are awe-inspiring. A street away is Quattro Canti, an intersection with a fountain in each corner.
Other attractions include the round Teatro Massimo, Mondello beach and Monte Pellegrino mountain overlooking the sea. You get fabulous views of this picnic spot as you fly into Palermo Airport before heading to your Booking.com accommodations.

We enjoyed our 3 days in Palermo and I think it was a perfect duration. Plenty to see both old and new. The Free Walking Tour was a highlight. Excellent guides and a small group of like minded travelers. We left them a 10E tip per person. The house tour of Conte Frederico was also well worth the price of admission. We had many good meals. Osteria Mercede was the recommended seafood; upscale but welcoming. We had a nice lunch at the Marina restaurant Culmina I believe that was the name. Modern sunny room with views of the boats. A quiet respite from the tourist crush downtown. 10 minute walk. Great service, sushi and seafood plus generous sandwiches. Menu featured pictures which made choosing difficult. We arrived from the airport midday using a private 64E limo transfer. It made life very easy as they met us at arrivals and helped us to the car. The hotel arranged this transfer. Upon departing we took the airport shuttle bus from in front of the Prada store across from Garibaldi Opera. 6E per person. We bought our tickets from the driver in cash. The bus is modern and air conditioned. Large luggage compartment below the bus. We hoped to make the 9:10am bus Sunday but when it arrived it had space only for those who already had their tickets. There were 10-15 others so the station master called HQ and they sent another bus so we only waited 15 minutes and not the scheduled 30 minute interval. Nice! Tickets can be bought at a specific Tabak shop near the Prada stop and maybe we should have planned ahead. The bus was full leaving Prada so we did not stop but I do not think this is normally an express bus. In 40 minutes we were at PMO. In sum we enjoyed Palermo. We never felt threatened by anyone or subject to crime risk and we walked all over town and through the outdoor markets morning to after midnight. There is some trash and some graffiti but larger Italian cities have these unfortunate blights. No more or less than Rome.

There is a lot to see and do in Palermo, and when you think you don’t want to see another church or museum, just wander through the city and soak in the atmosphere - there’s great street art to see as you meander through the backstreets and lanes, and several wonderful markets to explore, or a beach (Mondello) to spend a lazy morning or afternoon. And within easy reach by train or bus there is Cefalu (lovely in its own right) or the jaw-dropping wonders of Monreale. I’ve been twice - the first time for 4 days, the second time for 11 days, and I’m sure there’s still more to do when I go back!

Palermo is a city of contrasts.
Palermo is a city of contrasts. It sounds trite, but it is true. Beautiful city centre and ugly suburbs. Magnificent palaces and piles of rubbish stuck next to architectural gems. Reliable bus and rail connections and endless car queues. Cheerful and cute Palermitani and constant challenges at pedestrian crossings. And a great kitchen.
It was rich, and probably too rich to resist. It has potential.
Palermo is a must.

Palermo is a great city, but it is just that...........a BIG city. Be aware of transactions. Palermo taxi drivers are notorious for being dishonest. NEVER take your eyes off of the meter in a cab. When you are distracted, drivers will "tap" the meter, causing the fare to increase. When shopping, always know in advance what you should be paying before you actually pay. Overall though, it's a fascinating place to get exposure to all the wonderful things Sicily has to offer.

Our day began with a 5 1/2 drive from Tropea including a 20 minute ferry ride. It was actually a really a beautiful drive that varied from hugging the hills along the coast to long periods of tunnels powered through mountains. Upon arriving in Palermo I noticed that my fellow drivers disregarded the lanes and worked their way through spaces in traffic. Motorini buzzed by on sides, but overall I felt quite comfortable behind the wheel there. The town has a special character that’s hard to describe, and there is an attitude in the locals I wish I embodied. They did themselves, and seemed to not care what others thought or said. My favorite things were the Antiques and Palazzo Federico. If I come back in my next life I want to be Nicolò Federico the son of the “Flying Count” who also was our guide to his home. A definite must go. The tour left my wife and I in awe, especially as Nicolò pointed out the Italian Flag displayed on the wall which had blood stains from battles during the unification of Italy under Garibaldi. Please, please check it out it’s only an hour. The further South in Italy I travel the more splendor of this special country, people, and culture.
The location is fantastic, the hosts were incredibly helpful and the place is absolutely spotless and more like a boutique hotel stay than an air bnb.
Carpe Diem is brand new and the decor has been done tastefully, with high quality and attention to detail.
We have travelled extensively and this is a true find- the best bnb we have ever stayed at.
Ariana took our breakfast requests in advance and showed up with warm croissants and homemade cappuccino each morning along with fruit, yogurt, juices and more! An absolutely outstanding stay!
Lovely boutique hotel in the middle of Palermo. The staff were wonderful and breakfast was perfect. We had a market tour and cooking class with Carlo, the hotel chef, and it was the best we have ever experienced. Linda provided the translation and helped us tremendously.
We parked our car in a garage about 1 mile from the hotel for our two night stay and walked everywhere. Definitely the way to do it!
The hotel was very clean and housekeeping did a wonderful job.
Thank you for a wonderful stay in Palermo!
The best breakfast we had in Italy. Every morning, the host prepared a fresh homemade breakfast and also took into account any allergies of other guests.
The room was spacious, clean and cozy. The B&B is located near to the train station and in the middle of a tourist area with many nice restaurants and views.
The host was exceptional: When I got ill during my stay, she even contacted a doctor, translated for us and helped us buy medicine.
If we return to Palermo, for sure we will be staying here again!
Staff was great, I booked last minute (same day) as was arriving late in Palermo and the hotel I had originally gave me a lot of problems with the late check in so I needed to search for another Hotel, here they give me 0 issues with the late check in and they left the keys for me on a box.
Very friendly and helpful - they gave directions of how to get to the property by train from the airport very late at night
The room is no luxury but good for the price and spacious.
The Bnb is like a beautiful piece of art in the old town of Palermo. We were in the room on the 3rd floor, it was super stylish, had a nice view to the old town and enough space for sitting comfortably on two armchairs and a table inbetween. The staff was very nice to us and gave us very useful suggestions about what to do and where to eat well in the city.
It was the best accommodation during our stay in Sicily. Is an absolute recommendation for everyone to stay here!
Thank you for such a wonderful stay. The boat is absolutely beautiful and Luana and Salvatore were the best hosts. We spent 2 days out sailing to some beautiful locations around Sicily. The hospitality was just amazing! Luana was a phenomenal cook as well. We got a flat tire on our rental car prior to arriving to the boat and Salvatore personally took us the day we checked out to a mechanic to help us get it fixed. We cannot thank them enough for the best stay!
The apartment is like new , good quality fittings, clean and spacious , in the centre of the old town of Palermo, walking distance of everything. The elevator is a bonus in Sicily. Cristin was very professional, helpful and accommodating, she is working at the office from 9 to 1 and can arrange and explain all the things your can explore in Palermo . She also arranged a driver to leave for the airport. We recommend Ponticello apartments to anyone.
The host was very friendly and gave some helpful advice about where to eat and shuttle bus to airport etc. When he wasn't there his son was just as friendly . The room was very large, very comfortable and kept clean by a nice lady. The location is excellent for the centre of Palermo everywhere within walking distance. The breakfast was impressive, quality and selection is the best we have had in Sicily. We would definitely stay here again
The apartament is big, it has a coffee machine, a balcony with a nice view over a neighborhood in Palermo and it's pretty close to Palermo's historical center.
We also had a private parking nearby, with 10euros a day and we advice you not to leave your car on streets in Sicily because it will definitely be robbed or stolen.
The block of flats is newly built and this was nice as well.
Great location in the center of Palermo's Historic Section. Lots of restaurants nearby. Best homemade breakfast we had while in Italy. The owners were extremely helpful with advice, directions and info on the history of Palermo, and helped us find parking just outside of the restricted area. Will happily stay in this hotel if we ever find ourselves in Palermo again.
Great boutique hotel in the vibrant area of Palermo. Near (if not on) the market.
As the streets are creating a lot of noise, the hotel itself is very quit. That is a big plus! The courtyard is very nice as well and an away from everything.
Breakfast very good; both sweet and savoury available.
Staff is very helpful and friendly.
Location, location, location!
The hotel is meters away from Palermo main attractions, just next to the best ever granita in Palermo , yet in a small road that allows it to be very quiet.
Super spacious and clean room with a huge toilet.
The owner was also extremely helpful in arranging transfer to the airport for us.
The hotel was very well located within a very short walk to the famous Quattro Canti. The host Laura was awesome with us always wanting the best experience for our stay not to mention she is an artist. She prepares the most authentic breakfast in Sicily. I highly recommend this B&B to anyone visiting Palermo.
Amazing room. We stayed in the Valguarnera Suite which was a coincidence and very lovely touch to our last day in Italy as my wife's family is from there on the other side of Sicily. Very friendly staff and the room was huge with a beautiful bathroom.
Central to everywhere in Palermo.
Spotlessly Clean.
Friendly Owner.
Three times we have stayed here in our six times to Sicily.
1 minute walk opposite Taetro Massimo
5 minute walk from Piazza Politiamea(Bus stop from/to the
Airport.)
A very nice hotel. It doesn't look as much from the outside, but once inside it is the most lovely hotel with a fantastic courtyard and pool. Great room and best of all the aircon just works - a must during the warm Sicily summer months.
The house and gardens were beautiful and well looked after. Monica was a very attentive and helpful host. Breakfast was very good. Proximity to the airport and great for exploring Palermo and the west of Sicily.
The rooms were great and you are with walking distance of the historic center of Palermo. The breakfast on the rooftop terrace was one of the best we had in Italy. Barbara was very helpful.
Amazing location, super clean apartment, and FANTASTIC air conditioning! After walking all day in sweltering Palermo, the AC was a huge bonus. Our best stay in Sicily.
This is a charming boutique hotel right in the centre of Palermo. It has a lovely central area and breakfast room and the staff were exceptionally helpful
