The breakfast was incredible. The hotel hasn't been renovated in decades which gives it a very retro feel. The walls were not covered in wallpaper but fabric! I've never seen that before. It was a delightful experience and the staff were very friendly.

Travelers who stayed in Bologna near Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport (BLQ) have said good things about Hotel EMI, Hotel Del Borgo, and Villa Aretusi.
World-class cuisine is what Bologna does best. Nowhere in Italy, a country with considerable culinary heritage, is the food considered to be better than in this medieval gem.
Bolognese sauce of course originated here, but to try the real thing look for "ragú" on the menu. Cold meats and cheeses are also exquisite. Make sure you save plenty of time for eating – the Bolognese like to savor their food, so a meal can last for hours.
Many of the best eateries and homemade ice cream shops are found behind the mile upon mile of porticoed streets, now UNESCO World Heritage sites. The complex of medieval churches and buildings in cobbled Piazza Santo Stefano is a tranquil spot to explore. Climb one of the Two Towers nearby (not the one leaning at a startling angle) for spectacular views of this red-roof city.
The focal point of Bologna is huge Piazza Maggiore, whose Santo Petronio church has an unimpressive, half-finished façade that doesn’t prepare you for its sheer scale inside. Fanning out from this square, the buildings of Europe’s oldest university, founded in 1088, are home to the city’s best museums.
Bologna accommodations at Booking.com range from small B&Bs to luxury hotels, all easily accessible from Bologna Airport just outside the city.
A lovely and unique city with miles of covered walkways...
A lovely and unique city with miles of covered walkways which were both practical (keeping you dry and cool) and architecturally interesting. The city is very walkable with lots of interesting buildings, good restaurants and cafes. It seemed much less touristy than Rome or Florence. You get a sense of being amongst locals going about their day to day business. Giardini Margherita is beautiful and worth a visit. The walk up to The Santuario di Madonna di San Luca is also worthwhile and a very good workout with 471 steps and 3.8km of covered walkway!

Beautiful historic city with most attractions easily...
Beautiful historic city with most attractions easily accessible by foot. The Archaeological Museum and Pinacoteca Nazionale were highlights. San Luca Sanctuary walk was spectacular but quite a lot of uphill; best done in the morning, to arrive in time for the skydome access which opens at 10am.

Bologna is steeped in history.
Bologna is steeped in history. I recommend doing a guided walking tour and the San Luca express to the Basilica. The shopping was also pretty good. Bologna is also a sports city with Imola about half-hour away from Bologna (Emilia Romagna Formula One). The soccer stadium is also fairly close to the historic city centre. Bologna is a gastronomic delight - fresh Parmigiano Reggiano, aged to perfection. Fresh pasta, handmade. And the gelato!

Bologna has a wonderful combination of architecture both old and new. We enjoyed the pace as compared to Rome and Florence. The people were welcoming, helpful, and lovely. We had secured and loved our cooking experience. What we did not enjoy was trying to secure a taxi when needed. We found the service unacceptable.

Bologna is walkable and historically important.
Bologna is walkable and historically important. Start at the city's tourist information center in Piazza Maggiore for a great map.
Moreover, it is a foodie-haven--all kinds of places to eat--from food courts to all sorts of restaurants.
We really enjoyed our stay in Bologna. The hotel was the perfect location for us. Close to the train station and close to shops and restaurants, but away from the crowds. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. They recommended great restaurants and answered all of our questions about the area. They also arranged a taxi to the airport when we were leaving. The rooms are very spacious and clean. We would definitely stay at this hotel again if in Bologna.
This is a beautifully decorated small hotel quite close to the centre of Bologna. Everything was walkable and the area felt safe at night. Breakfast in the garden was a lovely start to each day with plenty of selection. All the staff were knowledgeable, polite and friendly, going the extra mile to keep all guests happy even though it was a full hotel and peak season. Beds were comfy and shower was good. Definitely on my recommend in Bologna list.
The atmosphere, the fact that it’s so modern, the staff, the parking (which is rare in Italy), the spotless and nice-smelling beadsheets and towels, the location ( close to highway so you can easily move around, and close to bus-stop so you can explore the city), the breakfast, the menu of the restaurant.
We will definitely be back when we return to Bologna or when we go to other cities they have the same hotels.
Everything. Class and comfort at every turn and yet, probably because it was Bologna, one of the most reasonable in terms of price. Close to the train station, and not a far walk from the center of town. This was truly luxury compared to other hotel rooms at similar prices. Bed, bathroom, shower, chairs in room, breakfast, lobby, and staff were all excellent. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
Excellent value, location, comfort and care. Sweet and very centrally located. Camilla and the staff went above and beyond with recommendations and assistance, very helpful even when I had to make some last minute changes. This is everything you look for in a boutique hotel. Felt safe, cared for and very much at home - I will certainly be booking it again for our next trip to bella Bologna. Grazie!
Friendly staff at Hotel Centrale Bologna! Helpful staff who made sure we knew how to get in and out of the hotel after midnight if needed. The hotel breakfast is pretty good, there are lots of delicious pastries and a pretty good selection of cold cuts, plus a hot dish. Room was clean and the fan came in handy. And the location is perfect for stepping out into Bologna.
A beautiful old apartment that has been subdivided into several hotel rooms. The shared kitchen/living room was stunning. The location was super central and our host was very friendly and met us at the door to explain everything and suggest where to go in Bologna. The room isn't huge but there is enough storage space, as well as a stunning high ceiling and tall window.
We had to catch an early flight from Bologna airport, this hotel is very close to the train station and makes it very comfortable for this purpose. We have stayed one more night in another hotel in the heart of the old town which I recommend for exploring the city. This one was more for easy train and airport connections.
The room was clean and good size.
This hotel is in an excellent location - 20 minutes walk from the Bologna central station and maybe 15 minutes walk to the historical town centre. The staff was super helpful and provided us with tips on what to see in Bologna and its vicinity. Complimentary breakfast was an unexpected plus and made our mornings :)
The apartment was really good and spacious and the breakfast was very good too and in the same building. It was a 10 minute walk from Lazzaretto monorail stop and was just one stop away from both Bologna Centrale and Marconi Airport. Riccardo (the owner) was a star and made sure our stay was as comfortable as ever!
Location is as central as you can get and host provides you with a full list of food recommendations for Italy's food capital. The benefit of staying in an 'apartment-style' accommodation in Bologna is having a fridge, microwave and dining room for all your local delicacies!
We stayed in Bologna so we could attend the Formula One in Imola four days. The hotel was perfect because was an easy walk to the train station, nice restaurants and attractions. The room and bathroom particularly the shower was bigger than most hotel rooms in Italy.
Good place, 10 min walk from the train station Bologna Centrale, close to famous place of the city, near to local food restorants. Nice stuff. We asked latest check out and they gave us. We kindly recommend this hotel and appartments for family holiday.
This is a beautiful historic hotel, located in the heart of Piazza Maggiore, closest to Saint Petronius basilica, and all the good bistros of Bologna. The staff is very friendly, and the hotel served a varied breakfast including a perfect Cappuccino.
Excellent hotel located in Bologna surroundings, silent, modern and clean rooms. Very comfortable beds. Well sized and clean bathroom. Excellent breakfast with all you need to start your day. Simpatic and helpful staff. Excellent value for the money!
This hotel has one of the best restaurants I visited while in Italy. The salad was the best my wife has ever had. The owner did a great job of arranging transportation for us to the airport. The room was very comfortable and clean.
The hotel was close to the train station so we could see other parts of Italy.
The people were very helpful in answering any question. The room was excellent there was 3 people and the room gave us plenty of room.
We stayed at Conte Luna for a night before an early flight out of Bologna airport. It is a quiet hotel and the night staff was very helpful with our bags and arranging an early morning taxi.
