The receptionist was polite and helpful. The room was spacious and had a balcony with a good view of the port. There was a payable parking which was helpful as we had a car. It was not in the center but it wasn't hard or far to get there without a car.

Nice chain hotel. Large elevators, a plus when traveling with a group. Large rooms. Very helpful staff. This was a intermediate stop for us, so hard to rate it’s location as we were just passing through. Large parking area, also a plus with a motor coach and group. Nice buffet breakfast

We loved everything. Great location in the old town, very good comunicación from start to finish. The place is very clean and there is a comunal kitchen to make a snack and coffee. Highly recommend!

We were based in the Old Town which is about 15 minutes walk from the train station - do-able even dragging suitcases. The old town is absolutely charming. There are many shops, restaurants, cafes and bars with very pleasant owners. We felt sorry that we hadn't learned very much Italian before our arrival but it wasn't a problem as everyone spoke English - not an excuse. Please learn the basics before your visit!.
The walk along the Lungomare is lovely and takes you to the boats to the Amalfi coast in one direction and along to lovely seafront bars in the other. The boats are regular and well run and organized. We visited Amalfi town one day, which is beautiful but busy. On another occasion we took the boat to Positano. A stunningly beautiful coastline arriving at a stunningly beautiful town. We were able to get away from the hustle and bustle by finding the 1700 steps to the Path of the Gods. Wonderful!
We went to Salerno in late October and early November. The weather was perfect every day - 23/24 degrees. Beware, though, mosquitoes are still around and I got badly bitten as I was unprepared.

Lots to see here but proximity to the Amalfi coast with easy and fun transport to many towns is the best part. Riding in the front seat of a huge bus being driven by an expert is better than Disneyland! Of course, the trip by ferry is breathtaking.

It was me and my wife's plan to visit Naples, the Amalfi...
It was me and my wife's plan to visit Naples, the Amalfi Coast, Capri, Sorrento, Pompeii, and Florence from early to mid October. Without having visited Southern Italy before, and not having a tremendous time to research, we were not sure where was the best place to stay. We settled on Salerno, as it seemed fairly central, and not as pricy as Sorrento or the other towns along the Coast. After experiencing the city for 5 days, we were convinced it was the right decision for all that we wanted to see. We found the prices for B&Bs and hotels were reasonable, and the one we selected, by chance, was great! It was on the main shopping strip and an easy walk to the train station, the ferry, and many restaurants. Salerno had much of the architecture you'd expect for that country, and was generally very clean. I would easily visit there again. After exploring the city, the Amalfi Coast and Capri, and Pompeii from here, we boarded a train to Florence for a few days, then back to Naples and Sorrento to finish the trip.

This is a much quieter option than the major cities in Italy...
This is a much quieter option than the major cities in Italy, and certainly nowhere near as crowded as Amalfi or Positano. Go explore the Amalfi coast by ferry from here, but also enjoy the lower stress level in Salerno itself. The Cathedral of Santa Maria is nothing overly special, but the crypt is fantasic. The food is great, check your favourite app for reviews first and you'll probably be good here. As mentioned visit Amalfi or Pompeii from here, and enjoy some more relaxed time after your day in those crowds.

Felt safe walking the streets of Salerno.
Felt safe walking the streets of Salerno. So many shops and restaurants. The choice is endless. The walking path along the ocean was a favourite for mornings or late afternoon walks. Easy access to train station and ferry port makes it easy to commute to by land or water.

A great atmosphere with interesting shops and facilities.
A great atmosphere with interesting shops and facilities. The Cathedral is a former Norman cathedral and has some interesting points. There is an archaeological museum, an art gallery ( which sometimes has concerts), Botanical garden and a mass of history - 3 times 'capital' of Italy: Romans; Normans; Allied Forces. First Medical School in Europe.
Paestum - Graeco-Roman town is one hour away on the bus or train; Naples less than one hour.
Local airport is Salerno Costa d'Amalfi.
Unmissable!

This family owned Hotel was a real gem, close to the Train Station and just a short walk to all Salernos attractions we really enjoyed our stay. The room we had was not large but it had a balcony, very clean bathroom and very comfy bed. We found the staff, particularly the owners to be very friendly and enthusiastic about their Hotel and Salerno itself. Alos the breakfast each morning was of a high standard.

Whether you're in Salerno for business or leisure, the hotel's
The owner of the property was very helpful and gave us some recommendations about dinner. The place is literally on the beach which is quite nice. The overall decorations of the place were nautically themed which I liked. It seems like the hotel is loved by the owner and while it might need a bit of touch up here and there it's still a good place to stay for a night visiting Salerno.
It’s a great house, very spacious and clean. Highly recommended! It’s location is perfect for passing a night at Salerno. The famous dessert store Dolceria Pantaleone is nearby, also the other restaurants are close enough. Furthermore it’s close to the lungomare to enjoy the night view in Salerno.
Plenty of space in a room with all electronic facilities and the decor is out of the ordinary - not just another boring standard hotel room.
The breakfast lady Rosanna helped with all our needs.
We will come back next time we are in Salerno.
