Staff was very helpful and courteous. The location was great, right across from the beach. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Rooms were good with a balcony.
Hotel La Riva is on Ostia's seaside promenade, 262 feet from the beach and a 5-minute walk from the Stella Polare Train Station. It features free parking and a garden with a cafè.

It is a very nice area especially when the weather is sunny and hot. There are many nice places to eat and drink either by the seaside or elasewhere. It is very enjoyable to walk around the area and enjoy the excellent sea view.

If you come from the downtown area to catch a flight the next day, you need to know it is really very far away. We first took a bus and sat on it for a long time. The bus didn't stop at the hotel, so we walked almost one hour with our suitcases. If you take a taxi from downtown it would cost you a fortune! This hotel is too far away from downtown.

The reviews I read before booking this were a lie.
The reviews I read before booking this were a lie. This property in no way was a 10. The towels were thin and needed to be replaced. No paper towels of dish towels. We ran out of toilet paper only one roll was provided. The sheets need to be replaced very faded, old and thin. The chairs around the table sunk in, not comfortable at all. Our car got broken into 15 mins after arrival. Met owner out front for keys went back to the car. The window had been smashed on car and everything was stolen! Our suitcases and passports. We lost everything but the clothes on our back!!!! Not a safe area!

Ostia is not Portofino, it's a suburb of Rome that just happens to have a beach! The streets are dirty and overgrown with weeds and walking around is not a pleasure. However, if you have to go there the best cornetti can be found at UBK in Piazza della Stazione Vecchia, the best pizza at Romolo's just around the corner and the best spaghetti alle vongole at Tra il Grano e il Mare just off Via Pietro Rosa. Happy holidays!

The seafront is a mixture of private and public beaches.
The seafront is a mixture of private and public beaches. We found that paying to visit the private beaches more comfortable and cleaner than the public beaches plus the private clubs had restaurants and proper toilets.
There are a few restaurants away from the main square but we tended to stay in the main square. several bars also located in the square, wide selection of food to please everyone.
Area is well luminated and most people said good evening. We never felt threatened.
Three train stations available to take you to Rome which is 40 minutes away. a 72 hour ticket for the train can also be used on the underground and public trams and buses within the area of Rome.
We did not expect much from this place and booked a night here to visit Ostia Antica.
The reception staff exceeded our expectations. The place was old but clean. The bathroom was in a really good shape, no sluggish drain or hot water issues. The hotel was a bit far from the Ostia Central station but close to the bus stop for the airport bus. Next door is the Osteria Tascanelli bar where we had the best Aperol Spritz we've tried in this trip made with passion fruit. Overall, we felt like we got what we had paid for.
One of the better B&Bs I’ve stayed at. The caretakers are generous, attentive, and professional people. They even made me a pizza and did my laundry free of charge. Thank you Mrs. Olga.
The Wi-Fi was quite good and the room had everything one could want for a relaxed stay. The bathroom was nice too. The rooms are in a quiet flat, not loud in the evenings. Located right by Lido Centro so you have access to Rome easily. Ten minute walk from the beach. Restaurants all around open into the night.
The apartment had absolutely everything you could need even for a longer stay! Kitchen is fully-equipped, there is 3 tv’s, large bathroom, great beds, and even the sofa was comfy to sleep. House is very peaceful and quiet. Short walk to free beach, many grocery shops nearby, easy connections to central Rome and Ostia Antica. The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful with any questions you may have, easy and fast communication via WhatsApp. Would definitely recommend this place!
Very comfortable location of the apartment:
- up to 10 minutes on foot from/to the direct bus stops from/to Fiumicino airport,
- 5 minutes walk to Lido Nord station with direct train to Rome.
25 minutes walking distance to the beach. There is nearby grocery store, pizzeria.
Apartments fully correspond to the photo. Two bedrooms - one with a double bed and one with a single bed.
We arrived very late, however Erika met us and checked us in without problems.
The proprietor was exceptional. She didn't speak English so she used a translation app to communicate with us and provide for our needs. She even responded at midnight, coming to reset the electricity from a power outage!
The location is about 1 block from a train station. There are coffee shops and convenience stores nearby. A larger grocery store is only 3-4 blocks away. This is a great Airbnb for visiting Ostia Antica!
Maresole apartment is a very cozy , comfortable and quaint apartment
It was very clean
The location is excellent ,the beach is just a 4 minute walk
Our host Niccolo was extremely helpful
Right from helping us with taxi bookings to hotel recommendations....he was prompt and precise with his replies
I would call Maresole apartment a complete package
The host was super friendly and welcoming from the beginning. The room is very carefully decorated and very clean. The bed was comfortable also. During our stay was very attentive and amicable. Just beautiful! We would love to come again, as the seaside is nice and Rome very easy to access from Lido di Ostia.
I really loved the place
The Owner Perla is beyond Gentle, helpful, friendly and caring, you wouldn't want to leave
The location is excellent by all means everything you'd like on a trip is at your disposal
The shopping, the beach, the restaurants, the promenade it's just excellent
By far the best staff in the hotel according to my experiences (very kind and helpful guys). Simple but good quality breakfast. Top location: you step out of the door and there is the beach in front of you, in Ostia I can not imagine better (everything is in 5 min walk).
A beautiful and relaxing apartment with all the comforts of home. Close to Lido Centro, beach, restaurants and supermarket. A short train ride to Ostia Antica which is amazing. The hosts are super nice, welcoming people and I highly recommend staying here. Would return
Location to the beach and proximity to the airport. The hotel offers airport shuttles for a fee but we didn’t take it as we had our car.
The room has all essential amenities, little small though. Works for a night or two but would be too small for longer nights.
Perfect location - one can go to the beach or to rome using public transport very easily. The appartement is clean and really next to the station Lido Nord. Cozy balcony. Eduardo is a nice and very considerate host - very smooth experiance.
Highly recommended.
Charming stylish hotel on the beach. We received room with sea view and terrace as well as a welcome drink as a gift. Great breakfast with fresh made coffee and a very kind guy serving it. It made our trip to Rome unforgettable.
We really enjoyed our stay! Our hosts Giulia and Valeria were extremely kind and helpful, giving us information about restaurants and how to get to Ostia Antica etc. The hotel is very quaint and very clean. Thank you!
Very nice and comfortable place near to the beautiful beach ⛱️
Very kind and professional owner.
It is very suitable for families and near the train station.
The Hotel is small, pretty and comfortable.
Located in the very center of Lido di Ostia, it offers access to transportation, restaurants, beach and shops.
