A centrally located resort on the lake. Lots of parking, loads of restaurants, we had super meals at Animo pizza and La Brasserie 15. Highly recommend hiring a boat with dolphin boats and going out on the lake - 3 hours was just about enough time. Absolutely huge market on Tuesday morning. Lovely little town on the Lake Garda. Very easy to reach by train (we took a train from Milan). Great to travel around the Lake Garda - ferries from morning to evening to different places. Desenzano del Garda is a small town at the banks of Lake Garda. Maybe its not the most beautiful town of Garda but it has picturesque narrow streets, port with good connection to other coastal towns and several excellent restaurants. In my opinion, its a very good starting point for exploring of Lago di Garda because its the closest town to Bergamo international airport. I was here in July but for those who do not keen on swimming in lake the best time for visit is April / May or September / October. For trips I would recommend Sirmione, Bardolino and Salo.
