I know GeorgeTown very well after living there for 2 years prior to the pandemic. It's a vibrant multicultural little town with great street art. If you love food you will enjoy Penang as it is a foodie heaven.

If you stay in the centre of Georgetown so much of is walkable. Best thing to do is get the Grab App so as you can get around by Car. Georgetown is a Foodies paradise from Early morning Dim Sum to late night Street Food, it has it all. We ate Street Food at Chulia St and Kimberely St and visited the New World Hawker Centre all walkable from our hotel.

I like the street arts around the town.
I like the street arts around the town. It is very nice of the local government to provide map and free bus around the town that allowed us to look for the arts. A pity that some of the arts are not well maintained. I have also enjoyed the food whether in the restaurant, coffee shop, foodcourt or along the street.

A great place to visit, with ample heritage and historical baggage. Great food, but a bit repetitive among the various food courts. Leboh Kimberley is probably your best bet. Also, as regards breakfast, it is difficult to find anywhere to eat anywhere before 9AM!
Unfortunately the iconic centre of GT is becoming increasingly gentrified, with some heritage buildings either being "uograded" into hotels/restaurants/bars or replaced by hideous concrete blocks, while others are unmaintained, visibly rotting and falling apart. The so-called al-fresco "art work" around the town is visibly decaying and there is a general feeling that the historic centre has seen better days and is slowly declining. Fancy shopping malls and jostling high rise condos are sadly now more representative of the city's face, and values.
Traffic is a "mess", with gridlock common in the central area. An efficient metro/tram system should have been installed a decade go, but has yet to be initiated.

It's a modern and heritage city mix together, wonderful food offering and cultural places to go. Traffic can be horrendous, and streets are narrower compared to Malaysian cities or town, driving is a nightmare as Penangnites do not stick to rules and some does not keep up with speed and on the wrong lanes.

We enjoyed the many reasonably priced restaurants in our area. We toured the temples and mountain top to see the view of Penang. We also toured the Spice Garden, Butterfly farm and Tropical Fruit Farm. I recommend booking a driver and touring these venues.
The check-in was quick. The staff were friendly. The hotel is unique and goes with the theme of George town. It is a clever way to have a historic dated boutique hotel. It has a nice garden to sit and relax with a cup of tea/coffee. It is walking distance to all the attractions in George Town like Armenia Street, Street Art, Clan Jetty etc. You can also make use of the free Rapid Penang Shuttle buses, that stops at about 22 stops around George Town. Great for a short stay to explore George Town.
Beautifully restored hotel with a tastefully designed new wing. We stayed in the new wing - Victory Annex. The rooms are large and well equipped and there was a private balcony overlooking the sea. Would recommend having breakfast at the 6th floor Planters Lounge rather than the larger ground floor restaurant. 6th floor swimming pool was a bonus and great for a beer and swim after exploring George Town. The atmosphere of the hotel is relaxed and the staff are friendly and professional,
We came here after a terrible experience at Bayview Resort Hotel where we had to cancel our stay and switch the hotels. This place was the same money but totally different experience! Very private. Large room with 2 bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen and living room. Well air conditioned. The location was great! Easy check in and check out. Everyday we were asked about housekeeping services. We had a washing machine as well. Walking 15-20 min to downtown. We really enjoyed our stay.
This my 2nd time stay here ....me and my husband enjoy stay bayview because most important very clean room, the bedsheet pillow, toilet carpet and etc and the view from the window was excellent..i love staff from front desk so frendly ..i remember last time i stay 1oct when i check in 2nd time 19oct staff really recognise me🤭🤭 guard from parking ,guard from door men and frondesk im really happy like we are family.i will repeat stay this hotel.
This was a quaint, well decorated boutique hotel in Georgetown. My husband and I absolutely loved our stay there. The room and property were gorgeous and in a great location. It is close to shops, restauraunts, and within walking distance to main attractions. The price is very reasonable compared to other heritage hotels in the area.
A nice small quaint place with interesting decor however, a bit run down and in need of maintenance. The Wi-Fi in the room is very poor. Location is good but, being in the heart of George Town, traffic noise is a bit of a problem. The staff are friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast is mediocre and the coffee is terrible.
Very good place to stay, clean, the service is very good, they send you all the necessary information, even for places to eat and things to do in George Town, they are attentive at any time to solve your doubts, the rooms are very good! And the location is also very good! I would definitely stay at the hotel again
Very well located for walking around George Town. The hotel is very comfortable and attractive and the staff very pleasant to deal with. The added free afternoon tea each day was welcome after walking about in the heat for hours. The breakfasts and afternoon teas were high quality.
The homestay is around 3km from George Town, around 30 mins to airport and beach, which is a nice distance. The room was really clean and spacious, the view from window was superb. Staff was super nice and helpful, they promptly respond and assist if there is any issue
An excellent design hotel with good location in George Town close to the Old Town and the ocean. Loved the room interior, coffee machine and the infinity pool with the ocean view. Short walking distance to the Old Town and restaurants. Good breakfast.
location: accessible to most street food, bars, attractions in georgetown!
breakfast: hotel's breakfast buffet is great! For RM35 per pax, it has a huge variety of Malaysian food
room: comes with a ceiling fan and has a great view of the sea
The location was excellent and enabled you to stay in the heart of George Town. Being able to walk to local restaurants and bars a bonus. The hotel is a most sympathetic conversion of former shops and gave one a feel of the past.
2022 refurbished hotel, rooms and facilities are new and very clean, filtered water on tap in the room, good breakfast, friendly staff. Location between Batu feringgi and George town. The best Ascott hotel i stayed in.
Perfect location and a super cute small hotel!
We loved the vintage style of the room and it just fit to the main style of george town!
Definitely worth it. Was one of the best hotel we stayed in Malaysia.
Loved the location of this hotel, close walk back into George Town, as was lovely to have the option of a pool after a long day of walking. Rooms were beautifully done up with old antique furniture 😍
Attentive, helpful staff (all of them). Comfortable, stylish. Large bedrooms. Well situated to visit the historic sites and interesting streets of George Town (20-25-minute walk to the former).
Such a gorgeous luxury boutique hotel. The in the rules are tastefully and beautifully done. Room is spacious and love the Aesop amenities provided.. Location wise is good and convenient.
wow what a value- right on the beach- super fun pool. traditional food court is immediately in front of hotel for copious food selections . inexpensive 15 minute ride to George Town.
