Located on a small island in the very heart of Svolvær Harbor in the Lofoten Archipelago, Anker Brygge offers rooms in traditional Norwegian fisherman’s cottages.

The expensive suite wasn't ready on time (supposed to be ready by 3 pm check in) and smelled quite bad. They called us saying it was ready, then actually had us go to the room while it was still being cleaned. We were then told by the cleaning lady to go into one of the rooms while she finished cleaning. Not well stocked kitchen and not well cared for place, in our opinion.
This eco-friendly, stylish hotel is located in the picturesque harbor town of Svolvær. Wi-Fi access is free on site. Guests can enjoy stunning waterfront and Svolværgeita Mountain views.

Umberto and Enrico were a shining example of what front desk should be. Professional, friendly, and very helpful.

We were offered to another hotel, since Scandic Vestfjord Lofoten is closed for the summer. Therefore this review is not relevant.

Nice and beautiful city with beautiful surroundings.
Nice and beautiful city with beautiful surroundings. I spent few days there before going to explore other ones in Lofoten but it's a perfect place just to walk. There is a big square in the center, few restaurants with delicious local food, some souvenir shops and few big supermarkets. There are also few hiking routes with amazing views from top - definirely a place worth visiting.

A suitable length of stay would depend largely on the time of year.
There are many options for mountain walking in summer, less when snow covers the paths and countryside. Day Trips can be made to explore other scenic towns and villages by the local bus, along the island. Very scenic opportunities for photography with the changes in weather. Interesting short walks around Svolvaer and the harbour, boats, colourful buildings and rocky inlets scenery.

Svolvaer has the iconic architecture and "feel" of the Lofoten Islands but is large enough to have some choice in restaurants and easy access to most services. There are many museums and attractions nearby and just driving through the countryside yields spectacular views. Parking in town is limited and expensive, but the central parking lot is free after 7 PM.

Fantastic holiday in Svolvaer.
Fantastic holiday in Svolvaer. A photographers paradise from Fjord excursions to a road trip further a field.
My key highlights were the RIB Sea Eagles tour with Lofoten Explorers and the 5hr road trip with Lofoten Lights tour operators.
I will definitely be returning to see the Northern lights.

My son and I stayed here due to a change in our itinerary.
My son and I stayed here due to a change in our itinerary. We booked the location because it was close to the airport and it was reasonably priced. On the good side the location was on the water and walking distance to the center of town. The room offered a kitchenette with a table and two beds. One could access the deck overlooking the water. The people working the desk were very helpful, even booking a taxi for us to the airport. The bathroom is shared and the desk is closed at night. You have to walk to town for meals or stop by the nearby Circle K gas station for coffee and/or food if you don’t plan to cook. Rooms were upstairs, and there is no elevator.

Most convenient location for visiting the Lofoten islands.
Most convenient location for visiting the Lofoten islands. The pier for the exceedingly beautiful Trollfjord trip is walking distance from Svinoya.
The enterprising can hike the Djevelporten peak , which has steps for about 50% distance.
So conveniently located - just a 1-minute walk from the speed ferry port that's smack dab in the center of town. The hotel itself is clean and a very great "glam chic" decor. The beds were very comfortable with plenty of pillows and a very nice shower. And the breakfast was terrific - including access to the Nespresso machine, omelette station, eggs, potatoes, cereal, yogurt, fresh curated juices and smoothies, and the more traditional Norwegian / European breakfast. Plus, the free, on-site parking was so convenient.
Excellent service from the staff and good maintained place, everything neatly arranged so you have an easy time keeping clean after yourself. It is not a location to go and relax for a week, unless you book all the rooms for you and your family. But as some non pretentious nights for people who enjoy walking few extra mins from the city center, it was perfect and lovely. I was offered to borrow a bike, and the outside sitting area was just lovely too. Would surely use again if I'd spend a couple of nights in Svolvær
The landlord was very kind to recommend an A&E hospital nearby so that my daughter can see the dr for her twisted knee. She got referred to another hospital for x ray scan which confirmed there was no fracture.
In terms of the apartment, there is nothing to complaint as it is in excellent conditions with views to the gar out as well as the church behind.
The location of the apartment is excellent- just 5 minutes walk from the pier and rental car pick up point which enables easy access from all over Svolvær
Fast Hotel Svolvaer was booked for my last night in Lofoten as it was the cheapest option and I knew it would still be good as I lived in hotels of this chain during my week there. I got my code by email before going there so could easily access the building and had no any issues. Room was smaller than in FH Lofoten but had everything I needed for one night stand - a single bed, a desk, hangers and shower room. Good thing - the building had elevator so I didn't have to carry my suitcases upstairs :)
We were informed this hotel is closed during our stay and they moved our reservation to nearby Scandic Svolvaer which has been such a lovely place to stay! The hotel is situated in a small "islet" and the view of both the rooms and the restaurant/cafe area was stunning! The breakfast was the richest we've ever seen. Even more varied than a Turkish breakfast:) I cannot rate Scandic Svolvaer as my booking remained Vestfjord but I can definitely recommend the one we stayed!
Very great hotel!! Everything is very clean. The staff was very very friendly and help you with everything you need. They message you via message and whatever you want, they assist you with. The beds were very comfortable. The room amazing view to the lake. The location of the hotel is great, very close by to everything you need. You can book the trip directly with the hotel for a very cheap price. And the breakfast buffet was amazing, so so tasty.
Beautiful location in Svolvær right on the water and close to a great hiking trail. The owner, Kurt, greeted us and showed us the place when we arrived and was very helpful with some good tips on where to go. The unit was very clean, spacious and cozy with all the amenities you’d need. Our family of 4 was very comfortable. Laundry in the unit was an added bonus!
Hotel looks very nice for a chain-hotel. On an island in the center, with Lofoten architecture. Room had great views and a great terrace over harbor and ocean. Breakfast was nice. Staff was super friendly. Boat tours and restaurants very close to hotel. People are so friendly on Lofoten!
Relatively affordable for Norway/Lofoten. Close to the center. Parking is free, and there are spots available if you don't arrive too late. The room has coffee/tea with a water heater and a huge fridge/freezer. Contactless check-in and -out. The breakfast was acceptable.
lovely little studio apartment located by Svolværgeita. It had everything we needed to be comfortable during our stay. Great place to be based for exploring the Lofoten Islands. Friendly and helpful hosts. Would definitely stay again.
Liked the fresh new Thon Hotel, with its fabulous decor and the detail to the arrangement within the rooms. Gym facilities. The breakfast was quite a feast with such a huge choice of food beautifully presented.
Spacious, comfortable apartment centrally located overlooking harbour marina. Excellent facilities. Good breakfast served in hotel restaurant. Several parking options are available nearby.
We have been in Lofoten a couple of times and Svinøya Rorbuer is without a doubt the best place to stay in Svolvær/Lofoten. We stayed in a Rorbusuite XXL and it was excellent!
Amazing view of Svolvær, and walking distance to the harbor area where you find many restaurants.
The beds are very comfortable, and you have a fully equipped kitchen.
The place is in amazing location. Typical Scandic hotel. Nice/ helpful personel, good breakfast. Plenty of choise. Nothing more to add. Except about the rooms itself.
It’s an easy 20-30 min walk to downtown but the hotel is very close some of the popular hikes. Perfectly good hotel experience - quiet and clean, with a smart tv.
