Waiheke is amazing there are lovely beaches to visit and great wineries and tours, every one we meet was super helpful. the bus service is great you can even visit wineries by getting a bus! Take your credit card as you'll want to buy so much. Absolutely fabulous! Lots of wineries to visit and sample wines with excellent food. The gin distillery was dangerous if you like gin! The countryside is spectacular with all the grape vines, olive trees etc. Lots of tours to take. Would go back again but stay longer. Really wonderful little place, awesome beach which was easily accessible. Regular bus service made exploring the island and getting to some of the vineyards very easy! We were there the first week of December and based on what it was like there on Saturday I can just imagine would be VERY busy, noisy and crowded over peak times.
