Staying in this hotel was an unforgettable experience! Urubamba is a great choice for acclimatizing, and the train station itself is a must-see. I highly recommend staying in this hotel for 2 nights before and after your Machu Picchu trip.
Staying at this hotel was even more exciting than visiting Machu Picchu. The breakfast was rich and satisfying, and the dinner menu was absolutely delicious. The owner of the hotel was incredibly helpful in organizing our trips, making my stay stress-free and enjoyable.
Every bit of the hotel is thoughtfully designed and well-maintained. You'll find yourself taking more photos here than at Machu Picchu! This hotel truly offers a unique and memorable experience. Highly recommended!

We had a very relaxing stay- we had planned for one night, but extended it to two nights as we enjoyed the property so much
The rooms/cabins are very large/ Nice bathrooms and beds with patios
We ate all of our meals there and enjoyed all of them (I am vegetarian and liked all of my options/ my husband who is not vegetarian also equally enjoyed the meals)
They have a few activities each day, we enjoyed a short hike and learned about the local community, plants and birds
In the afternoon, they have a nice tea time with small snacks-
For planning- it takes 1.5 hours from the airport/ plan a ride in advance- it is about $50 for a couple from Cusco
The local area has a few popular tourist places to visit though we did not take advantage of these as we just enjoyed staying there
The Sacred Valley was an adjustment in altitude for us (we are from Nebraska) and it was nice to acclimate there, before staying in Cusco and ultimately hiking the Salkantay trail.

The best way for not getting soroche or altitude sickness is to drive straight from the airport to the Sacred Valley and stay there at least the first 3 days of your stay in Cusco. This is the best way to get your body used to such a high altitude and avoid getting sick. Urubamba has great restaurants and hotels all around, so there’s plenty of choices for lunch and dinner. The weather is much warmer and nicer than Cusco and it’s a great hub for visiting the ruins around the place.

Urubamba is the perfect base from which to explore the Sacred Valley. It's also a quieter, less overtouristed alternative to Cuzco. Visitors can walk clear across town without being stopped by touts every few steps, but getting to Ollantaytambo, Moray and Maras is a breeze (and cheap). The town also has plenty of great dining options, all for much less than you'd pay in Cuzco, and it's perfect for people watching. It may seem a bit rough around the edges at first but within a day you'll find it comfortable and even homey.

We had been there for work and looked for a peaceful place to spend the night, which we found. I know Urubamba, since I live in the Sacred Valley. Nice little town, where you find everything, you need for a short or long stay.
Beautiful family-owned hotel set into an antique farm house with a charming interior garden. It definitely has this authentic feeling you look for in rural hotels in an exotic country like Peru! The restaurant is pretty good and I definitely recommend a Pisco Sour at the cosy salon with a chimney!:). We took a train to Machu Picchu from the Urubamba station which is only 10 minutes away from the Casona de Yukay. We were only 4 people and were treated like kings:). I definitely recommend the hotel!
The staff was lovely ,very polite, helpful and super friendly. We had a bad experience with trains being delayed in ollantaytambo due to the political situation in Peru and the staff was so caring and protective of us . They also brought us a bag with food to take to the train to Macchu Picchu , so thoughtful . I was traveling with my 2 young adult children and their support made the trip much easier bearing in mind we arrived to urubamba during a political chaotic time in Peru
The most comfortable bed and best shower I’ve had in my 3 months in Peru. Landy and Vlady are super hosts. I loved the garden and outdoor bar. I’d read the other reviews about how amazing the food was and they were all true. The food really was out of this world. Far better than most restaurants. I highly recommend Bull House. perhaps the best place I’ve stayed at in Peru.
My friends and I arrived to the hotel after several days of trekking and it was the perfect place to rest. They made us felt like home. The service was exceptional, and we were able to recharge energy. We used the sauna, the game room, but not the pool because it was late. All the amenities were in good shape.
bonus: there is even a private clinic next to the hotel.
Beautifull hotel. Unfortunately the swimmingpool was closed due to maintanance when we were there. One time a cold shower, one time no water. When the cook is not there you cannot order food. The hotel is situated in the middle of nowhere.
Still we had a good time. The garden is beatifull. Urumbamba and Ollantaytambo are easy to reach by taxi. Breakfast was very good.
Magnificent hotel, impeccable grounds, beautiful plants, lovely hacienda with antiques, great lighting. Deluxe second floor rooms with cathedral ceilings are huge, super comfy beds, great linens and the very spacious separated sink, and bath areas, plus a two person jacuzzi tub. Great temperature control, great water pressure. The staff are amazing and so helpful.
Very unique and exciting experience views are spectacular. Climbing up is fun and zip lining down is super fun. Bathroom is ingenious. The food and guides are terrific information, kind, fun to talk to.it was a little loud from the strickers blasting horns early but that’s not the hotels fault. The beds are very comfortable and warm covers. Slept great
Beautiful gardens. The games and trampolines for the kids were very welcome. The rooms were very large and comfortable. The location was quiet but we were keen to eat out as the restaurant was a bit limited and the local taxis didn’t recognise the hotel often.
The staff were very friendly and helped us with trips. The alpacas were much enjoyed by us.
Best lodge experience we had in Peru. The staff was super attentive. Continental breakfast was delicious. The rooms were clean and spacious. Most suitable for families.
It is a bit further away from town center but still an easy 10-15 min walk.
For us it was worth it. Excellent value for money.
The staff was very friendly. They were happy to help whenever we had any question. The hotel is located very conveniently near shops, restaurants, the market and public transport. The rooms were spacious and clean and the shower was really nice. We can definitely recommend this place.
Location was good, the hotel was very nice for a cheap hotel, the bedroom was a decent size, shower was a little slow to warm up, so turn it on when you first get in the bathroom to wash up and stuff, staff were helpful and always pleasant. Bed was very comfortable.
My favourite hotel of our trip. Lovely big room with a door straight out to the pool. Exceptional food and helpful friendly staff. As we left Abel told us about the humming bird garden - many thanks, it took some confidence to get there but Ensifera was brilliant.
Beautiful garden, big comfortable beds and large rooms, very nice, friendly and efficient staff at the reception and shop. It's walkable to the city center and only takes 2 Soles for 2 people to go back from the hotel in case too tired to walk.
The hotel offers many amenities and activities for you to try so you don't have to leave the property to have a fun filled day. They have alpacas onsite and you can feed them, and they have massages and other cool activities to choose from.
We had a very nice host (peruvian young man) that changes our feeling of the city (as we came from a previous hotel with a rude host) : he did all he can to make us spend a nice time and we REALLY appreciate ! Nice pool and nice room !
Hotel is in a quite area but very close walking distance to the main plaza and the main streets, it is nice and it has all the services. We spent time in the game room playing billiard and card games. Really good food too.
