A Fairytale Place

Only one street in town which makes the trafic a nightmare most of the time. So be sure to leave the car parked somewhere, which is also difficult, and move by bicicle or walking. Bled is beautiful.
Bled is beautiful. I have only said our stay was too long as I have recently had a hip replacement and my mobility was limited. Ordinarily long walks would be on the cards and a longer stay would have been good. There are plenty of restaurants and food stalls to suit all budgets. There is a road train that circles the lake regularly at €7,- per adult. There are also horse and carriage rides. Apart from that walking is the main way to get around with a circuit of the lake being a little over 6km. The walk up to the castle isn't for the feint hearted. The Castle and church on the island in the lake were stunning. We took the boat trip out to the church, which was charming and very relaxing. Vintgar Gorge is a must-see; that was one of our favourite trips while there. Bled itself was crowded, and the traffic was terrible, parking was expensive everywhere except the large car park below the castle. I thought most of the people we saw there looked sad, which surprised us when they were surrounded by such beauty. Castle at 08:00hrs, boat trip to the Island and then Gorge at 15:00hrs it only takes a day to see and enjoy the main sights in Bled. Bled is beautiful and lived up to expectations.
Bled is beautiful and lived up to expectations. However, it is very touristy, and every site has to be paid for- it’s such a shame to have to pay to see what Mother Nature created. I loved Lake Bled.
I loved Lake Bled. The water is crystal clear and there are only E boats & rowing boats on the lake which makes for an idyllic ride. We enjoyed long walks around the lake and hiked up to the castle on the cliff. We also took the E boat over to the island in the middle of the lake & visited the famous church. It has quite a story to it. Located right by the lake and next to the bus stop - public transport is a bit of a problem in Bled so, this was a big advantage. You can go for a beautiful walk by the lake, take a boat to the island, or explore the nearby restaurants right outside the hotel. The view from the window was delightful! The surrounding is very nice. Although there are not a lot of food in the breakfast, but it had all we need and the most important is they were delicious. The staffs are very nice. They even prepared breakfast for us after 11am. We are really appreciated for that.
