The location right on the cliffs and beach, every morning there is a chance to buy the catch of the day, before it gets to the market. The space was very spacious considering what it looks like at first glance. Lastly, the staff, from the host down to the on site property manager, made sure our stay was comfortable.

Incredible staff, comfortable and clean facilities, large bedrooms with AC and fans, good food at very decent prices, and situated on a beautiful, calm tidal beach. Massages on site were amazing. It’s a truly relaxing place as the area is still not as developed as other parts of Zanzibar.

We really enjoyed our stay at AVO Boutique Hotel. The beach right below the hotel was calm and beautiful – the perfect place to unwind away from the crowds. Our room was comfortable and always clean. One of the highlights was the food – every meal was delicious, so much so that we didn’t even bother eating anywhere else! The owner and the team were all super kind and welcoming, always ready to help with a smile. It’s a quiet, cozy place with great vibes – we can't recommend it enough :)

We had an incredible stay at TOA Hotel & Spa. The staff were truly exceptional—warm, attentive, and always going the extra mile to make us feel at home. From the front desk to the restaurant team, everyone treated us with genuine kindness and care. Special mention to Esther who made our stay extra special with room upgrade and a massage. Special mention to Cecilia who made our wedding anniversary celebration extra special! I could go on, honestly every staff members we came across was welcoming, supportive and always greet with a smile! The food was outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented at every meal. We especially loved the themed dinners and beachside dining experiences. If you are a seafood lover, you’ll be in heaven ❤️. Their salads variety were a delight especially the plantain salad omg! The hotel is also very child-friendly, which made our stay even more enjoyable as a family. We left feeling relaxed, well cared for, and already planning our return with more members of the family and friends!

I loved my overnight stay there. Petra was very friendly and accommodating I checked into the hotel after 9pm. She prepared late dinner that was truly delicious. For breakfast I had a good variety. I appreciate the couple that owns the place. Very gracious!!

To be honest, Sunny Palms has an excellent staff; however, the good parts about the property end there. Too far away from everything; swimming with the turtles, jet skiing, para-sailing, spice farm, snorkeling, and Stone Town. Bring plenty of mosquito repellent. Make sure you rent a car from the airport, no microwave with a small fridge. No activities on the property, it's basically a place to sleep. Don't get me wrong the price was excellent for one week stay.

    Please remember that Marumbi is a Village in a poor third world country and therefore there is very little to do. A few local shops. A couple of local Restaurants (We loved Bustani), no bars and a hotel that doesn’t welcome outsiders. If you are looking for nightlife it’s probably not for you.
