Location was good and lobby looked nice. Everything is very basic. You can hear through walls what's going on in next room

They had available rooms last minute and thought it was a little more costly than other budget places it was closest to where I needed to be. The waffle breakfast was really good, made fresh all morning. Checking in and out was fast and easy. I like having an actual lock and key too, it feels safer to me than a key card Really uncomfortable beds, Rock hard. Old dingy smelly room, cold water was hardly a trickle on the room sink so it was scalding hot to brush teeth. Most out dated place I have ever seen (even compared to my cheap built in 1904 nyc apartment). Shared toilet and shower wasn't the worst but no sink to wash hands when leaving the toilet!

My room had an awesome view and they have a good place to access the internet, it's a good place to sit and relax, they have a soda machine, but all only in the lobby. The breakfast is good, specially the waffles! They don't have internet in the rooms, you need to go to the lobby, the lights in the room were not in good conditions

I liked most the staff, and can't forget when a young Mexican member started to talk to a senior in the elevator. Although the younger started conversation in his language, the senior immediately notified him to speak in English [in his language] and the polite respond from the young guy with a lean from a head as an apology!!

I like just entrance Lobby 1. Every day the exactly same breakfast: oatmeal, tea, coffee, vaffel, honey and cream for coffee. 2. Staff is hazard, if you ask for hot water (it getting warmer after while and you can't make a tea) they tell you - we can't until this water don't run out. 3. Rooms is very old! for about 10-12 years no repair there! 4. They make advance balance blocking of 50$, which they return forabout 3-4 weeks

Located just in the historical center of LA, very beautiful area. Building is also looks historical, hall is gorgeous, breathtaking. Staff is extremely kind and ready to help. Prices are very good. Rooms and some infrastructure need renovation, to be true. But they take a fair price for this. If they renovate and refurnish rooms, in such a building, it could become easily a 5 stars hotel.

Staff that booked us in was polite, changed our room for us when requested. This should not be called Cecil Hotel but Cecil hostel!! The rooms were awful and outdated, very basic and felt like hostel, nothing 2 star about this place and felt unsafe. Windows were like paper and noise from sirens kept us up all night. We booked in for 3 nights, slept the first night after a days travelling (too tired to move) but then checked out the next morning. Would not recommend!!

I was extremely disappointed with the front desk service. They were very unprofessional and unpleasant.Upon questions about shocking events that occurred at the hotel I was treated unfairly and poorly. I only used the hotel room for a couple hours upon being informed of the shocking events that took place at the hotel I left. I asked as a courtesy for a reimbursment but they denied my request. I was in fear of my safety staying in this hotel.

They stored my luggage both checking in and leaving, and its great that they have a gym. The staff was helpful, the ground floor is nice and the cafe is really good. No mirrors in the very bare room, and the community bathrooms are pretty antiquated. Their breakfast was nothing to be excited about and started at precisely 7:31 everyday which is 31 minutes too inconvenient.

Hotel was a very good value for the money. Bed was comfortable. It was bare bones, but all I wanted to do was read and sleep. Mission accomplished. It would be wise to have wi-fi available in areas other than the lobby. I generally need wi-fi when I travel on business. I was able to do what I needed to do on my phone e-mail, but wi-fi is generally a must.

Staff was incredible. Complimentary Breakfast is nice. One can't beat the price. Lobby is beautiful! Room was a bit cold at night -- the heating 'panel' isn't enough to keep the room warm.
