The staff, everyone was thoughtful, professional and welcoming. The rooms are ok in size considering the other Ritz-Carltons globally. The gym and pool are absolutely breathtaking. The view on the high floors facing Mt Hood is incredible. The beddings are extremely comfortable.

The price was right! This hotel is super cool and unique, I loved the historic character and the energy efficient renovation. The stair had a lot of cool historic material in it as well, and the rooftop patio is beautiful. The price was very affordable and the hotel was located in the city center very close to transit and food. The area has a lot of transient population but no one bothered us and the hotel itself feels secure.

We spent our time in Bend attending 2 Sun River Music Festival concerts. Both were excellent! We also drove the Cascades route which was very photogenic. We then headed to stay in Cannon Beach to see Haystack Rock & of particular interest to my companion, puffins! Before we checked in on the 16th we visited Multnotmah Falls, which was impressive. My partner, who loves bookstores, spent a couple of hours at Powell's before returning home to AZ. Strongly recommend Bistro in Seaside for a great meal, noting high end dollar wise. The best Thai Seafood soup I've ever imbibed.

Portland has so much to do and it such an awesome experience for an east coast resident! Would highly recommend the Hoyt Arboretum (they have Coast Redwoods and Sequoias!), Japanese Garden, Rose Garden, Oregon Historical Society museum, Portland Art museum, and the Zoo!

I planned to visit the city, but after reading up and hearing from some people that lived there i changed my plans. I decided to just visit for the day. The city is suffering from drug and homeless problems, I was told they are trying to reverse a policy of all drug legalisation, which hadn't gone well. I have travelled globally and to some poor countries and bad cities in the past, this had a bad vibe about the place. The "famous" bookstore is just like any other and nodiscript. Voodoo doughnuts which are on the must do list, are again completely overrrated. My advice, skip Portland and do Seattle instead.

Portland is a great city to visit, but the area north of Burnside Bridge looks a little rough, with many homeless people. But, that area has some of the best restaurants in town. Dan and Louis Oyster Bar, Jack's Famous Crawfish and of course, VooDoo Donuts. Easy to walk around and the transit system, Tri-Met is second to none. I did not even rent a car, took bus and tram all over.

I recently visited Portland and enjoyed its unique mix of urban charm and natural beauty. The downtown area is walkable, full of great food, coffee shops, and local culture. The city has a relaxed, creative vibe and feels very eco-conscious. While there are some urban challenges like visible homelessness, overall it’s a welcoming and interesting place to explore. Definitely worth a visit if you enjoy nature, food, and a laid-back atmosphere.

Yes, this is downtown Portland, which has its own problems. But the hotel is secure, the staff were very responsive and helpful, and my daughter and I walked many miles around the area without any problems. They had secure valet parking that was easily accessed as needed but otherwise you could walk to several excellent restaurants and shopping in the area. The pinball machines were a great touch - as a Gen Xer, it was fun to play with my Gen Zer.

The patio. - It was my third stay in Portland but this was by far the best hotel. Clean, spacious, (new?), didn't feel like other Hamptons I have been to. - The breakfast area was done so more than a handful people at a time could get food and you didnt feel crowded when eating. - The staff was one of the friendliest in the area (I had dealings with 5, so I generalize this)- The room was good Hampton quality. The gym was well maintained.
