Before ( decades ago) was known as park borough now is traffic bridge to bridge for 40 min, rude drivers and a lot of illegal immigrants . Plus very limited amount of decent place to stay or diner . Yeak.

I absolutely DO NOT recommend this place!!
I absolutely DO NOT recommend this place!! Everything else about Staten Island was great. Parking sucks, I had to park a block away, the owners are rude and loud. The only privacy is if you stay in your room. I'm very disappointed.

Staten Island is so different from mainland New York.
Staten Island is so different from mainland New York. Although, or perhaps because of, primarily a domestic residential area, many open spaces and some interesting historical sites. I understand there are lots of wild deer on the island, although we did not see any. I was particularly impressed by the cleanliness of the one shopping mall I visited.
The only downside is the cost o crossing those bridges - up to $17 at peak times.

I can only share the reason for my visit...to view and review a concert at the St George Theatre. The theatre is gorgeous and a real dedication to its historical past. The traveling expressways are easy to navigate and well maintained. Unfortunately, I have never done any other sight-seeing here.

We did not walk the neighborhood.
We did not walk the neighborhood. Danuta gave us menus for different restaurants in the area that would deliver food for us.
We did not want to go out, it was the coldest day we have ever
seen, way below 0. Staying in her cozy house was just right for
us. We did not get to see Staten Island because it was dark and
we just went to the Port Ship Terminal in the morning.

I was there for a funeral.
I was there for a funeral. I grew up on SI and except for friends, family and some great restaurants , I don’t visit. Many roads have potholes , and there are cameras at quite a few intersections and extremely short yellow lights. Unless you are visiting Manhattan and looking for a cheaper, quieter place to stay take the ferry round trip and leave.
Nice relaxed (suburban like) place with an amazing skyline view. I've enjoyed breakfast (8-9 a.m.) at the big dining hall table and a short chat with guests or host Mo. For me shared sanitary facilities were OK. A good start for either enjoying Staten Island (e.g. Allice Austen House opposite the street, Snug Harbor, Hist. Richmond Town, South Beach, Fort Wadsworth) or Manhattan / other parts of NY - if you are not in a hurry! Public transport round the corner. Really quiet night.
♡ Recommended!
We have stayed in lots of suite-style hotels over the years and this was up there with one of our favourites. It was clean and tidy with staff constantly cleaning the communal areas. The breakfast was the best we have had and the breakfast staff were friendly and attentive to the food area. The room was a fantastic size for a family of five. A big thumbs up from us.
Amazing views from the front porch, great location! Comfortable beds. Other things were also good in terms of price-result factor. Breakfast was sufficient, bathroom shared with couple of other rooms, but clean. Also, not far from the Staten Island train, so that one can get to Manhattan relatively easily. I would definitely recommend!
Danuta was a warm and knowledgeable host. She welcomed me into her home and made us feel as though it was my own. She prepared a wonderful breakfast and told great stories of Staten Island and her time on the island. I'd go back in a heartbeat.
it was the first time we were here in this hotel, my wife and I spent one night here. The hotel lobby was in a Christmas mood. The room is average. In the morning, check-out went quickly.
The staff, especially Felicia was awesome, kind, and helpful. I felt like part of a family and very comfortable. This hotel is where I want to be whenever I'm traveling.
Wonderfully clean and comfortable rooms. Great location near the Staten Island ferry. We didn't spend much time in the room but the time we did spend there was great.
Location is excellent and best hotel on Staten Island compared to other reviews of roaches and uncleaned facilities $220 a night here was well worth the room !
