This hotel is a hidden gem! Historic building that has been well renovated, clean, comfortable, centric, close to the freeways. No frills, but an amazing bar and next door coffee shop! And, parking was so easy and cheap when compared to all other hotels in LA. I highly recommend this place!

Exploring Los Angeles, the place where movies are made, you feel like you’re in a dream. Santa Monica Pier is the end point of the fabled Route 66, while just south is bohemian Venice Beach, lined by tall, swaying palms. Go slightly inland from the boardwalk to catch a glimpse of the canals that earned the area its name.
Head north to the golden beach and stunning scenery of Malibu and see why movie stars over the decades have settled here. Also popular with the rich and famous are Bel Air and Beverly Hills, home to exclusive Rodeo Drive.
And the reason for all this glitz and glamour? Hollywood, of course! Sitting high on a hill, the iconic sign is visible for miles around, while below the gold stars on Hollywood Boulevard immortalize celebrities of past and present. Be there on premiere night to see them grace the red carpet of Grauman’s Chinese Theater.
Over the hill is Universal Studios, with behind-the-scenes tours as well as rides. Next door are the Warner Brothers Studios, and Paramount Studios are closer to Downtown LA.
Whether you decide to live like a star in a luxury LA hotel or choose a cheap motel through Booking.com, it’s worth renting a car to get around this sprawling city and out to Los Angeles Airport (LAX).

I was only there for business, but the multitude of times I've been in LA have, in general, been good. I'm returning to the area in a week for vacation, but I'll be staying in a more touristy area.

You get what you pay for. We just wanted a place to crash between flights and it was perfect. Rooms are clean and water was hot. The neighborhood is not as bad as I thought it could be. No homeless.

Honestly, I don't like LA a lot.
Honestly, I don't like LA a lot. I prefer Santa Barbara, San Francisco or Monterey in terms of city. LA is a very expensive city because all the touristic points are kinda far from each other and your options to move in the city are subway, uber or rent a car.
The issue is that in the subway you'll find a lot of users under the influence and, for first time travelers, it must be a shock. But it's the easiest way to move around.
The ubers are very expensive and renting a car will increase your chances to get in a lot of traffic jam.
There are some nice places such as the Farmer Market, observatory, Santa Monica and the Parks (universal and Disneyland). And of course the walk of fame but I found very tacky and ugly. The food is also good, you can find very nice restaurants and coffee. Bottega Louie was my favorite as well as the food in Farmers Market.
So my advice is to stay in a strategic place where you can avoid traffic jam and visit the places around. And plan a short stay and visit other places such as Santa Barbara, San Francisco and San Diego.

Great places to visit - hike to Hollywood sign, helicopter ride over the city, Laguna Beach, Venice beach, Santa Monica Pier.
Not so great - expensive! Busy during rush hours, big city to get around so need a car. Difficult to find healthy food options as few and far between. Prepare to queue!

Dodgers game was an addition to our trip and we truly enjoyed it. We found people in the city to be friendly and helpful. Favorite areas to stay were Beverly Hills and Hollywood. And downtown stay at the CitizenM was perfect to catch the game.

The beauty and scenery. And the movie locations. Visit to Hollywood and a tour of the movie sights. Very welcoming city. I would definitely visit again. Probably avoid the Hotel Indigo. Had the worst experience with their staff
Great location next to Union Station and cheapest hotel available. Hey we only needed it to have somewhere to sleep. Is it the best area? No. Is it the best hotel? No, but!! it’s cheap, somewhere where you can spend the night, staff was really friendly and it was worth it for the price. If all you need is somewhere to sleep that has great public transportation connections this is the place to travel around LA. It’s also very close to China Town and Calle Olvera 👀 AC cold like ice too.
Very helpful and attentive staff. The location is in the center of downtown LA. I wish we'd had more time to walk around and explore.
I parked underneath Pershing sqare in public parking. I believe that it was quite a bit cheaper than the hotel parking, especially on weekends. Check for yourself. It's half a block away from the Biltmore hotel.
While you are at the Biltmore, be sure to look at the old photos in the hall of historic pictures.
Perfect location on 1st street in the heart of Little Tokyo, arguably the best part of Downtown Los Angeles. I had an amazing stay from check in to check out. My executive king room on the top floor was flawless. Clean, stylish, and comfortable. All the amenities were exactly where a seasoned traveler would want them. Plus the bar is open until 2am (a rarity in hotels) and you can shop for gifts & snacks using your smart phone. LOVE IT!
Staff were very nice and helpful The room came with breakfast, which was ok although not opulent. What I liked most was the big pot of hot oatmeal with many customary ingredients. It is in the downtown area and within walking distance of grocery stores and the LA Convention Center. The kitchenette is fully equipped with silverware, pots and pans, and do on. Car parking in the hotel with valet service was perfect ($50 a day).
Check in was easy - we called ahead regarding parking and the desk clerk was more than helpful in recommending the cheapest nearby overnight parking garage - also, the location is a real winner for this hotel - right off of Hollywood Blvd. - I don't think there's any escaping the homelessness in California, so aside from that, this hotel is smack dab in the middle of where a tourist might want to be.
Everything according to the description, excellent location, one of the best areas of Los Angeles for those who want to stay close to the beach.
The hostel vibe is really great there. The lounge was always fun. Met a lot of people from all over the world.
After the checkout, they allowed me to stay at the lounge area and they also kept my luggage for free until the time I went to the airport.
Staff are excellent and very accommodating. The hotel itself is well-located in a quiet part of K-Town, not far by car from all of the most visited areas of Los Angeles, and underground car park is very secure and well laid-out. The room itself is big enough with a good TV, a small fridge, a very nice bathroom with walk-in shower (no bathtub), and a very comfy bed. We slept very well here.
Nestled in the neighborhood of West Downtown L.A., this hotel may be situated in a dingy and sketchy area, but I surprisingly felt safe throughout my stay. Despite the neighborhood's atmosphere, the hotel itself showcased a cool, modern vibe one would associate with a boutique hotel, although the lobby and elevator's heavy use of air freshener was a bit overkill.
it was cheap and not far away from the airport.
I'd like to give a 10/10 to the staff: there was a guy at the reception, when I arrived late at night, who was really nice and polite.
Room and bathroom were clean. There is a shuttle bus to the airport (walking distance: 10 min) in the rental car parking lot in front of the hotel.
You would only stay here for universal and it’s a short walk away, so that’s good. I think the extra charges for parking are too much considering the hotel is not cheap. It was clean, that’s all we needed. The area around the hotel is not nice and I wouldn’t walk around there if I had kids with me.
This is a very good choice if you want to stay near the airport in Los Angeles. The staff are friendly and there was a very welcome selection of free beverages in the reception area. The bedroom was huge and very modern, with a great TV. The price paid was reasonable for a stay near the hotel.
On-street parking outside. Good garden space. The host provides good facilities. Close to Universal Studios and Warner Brothers Studios. Close to 101 Freeway and Burbank airport. Easy to get to downtown LA, Santa Monica, and further afield in the greater Los Angeles area.
There was no breakfast included in the price. When I was booking I was under the impression it was included. The hotel parking was very expensive. In the area we found much cheaper overnight parking for $25.00. Otherwise the hotel is clean and located right in downtown.
The rooms are nice, clean and cozy. The area around the hotel is quite calm and there are several restaurants nearby. Close to the LA international airport and LA downtown. The breakfast is simple but a few options are available making it a good meal experience.
The hotel is conveniently located about a 10-minute drive from Los Angeles Airport and offers a complimentary airport shuttle service. The shuttle runs every 15-20 minutes, without the need for prior reservations, making it extremely convenient for travelers.
It's a great location both for exploring Hollywood and accessing public transport to see other surrounding areas.
The view of the Los Angeles city scape from the upper floors are some of the best in the city
it's really the cheapest non shared hotel out there in Hollywood and I suppose it works for the most part. The room was fine and the place is close to a lot of restaurants and places in Hollywood.
Hotel in quiet area not too far from all the sites in Hollywood
10-15mins walk to metro red line for downtown
Tea/Coffee in room
Decent size room
Good WIFI
I liked the convenience of the location of the hotel in relation to the areas we wanted to see in Los Angeles. Its proximity to the airport was also a plus.
