Huntley Santa Monica Beach, hotel in Los Angeles

Located less than 5 minutes walk to 3rd Street Promenade and the Santa Monica State Beach path, this Santa Monica modern beach-side hotel features a restaurant, bar, and lounge.

This hotel is the right size to be personal with a boutique vibe and yet provide services belonging to larger hotels. We have stayed twice recently and were upgraded at check in on return. This was a really nice touch. The Penthouse restaurant has a great happy hour and was humming the night we were there.

FAQs about hotels in Los Angeles

City of Angels

Exploring Los Angeles, the place where movies are made, you feel like you’re in a dream. Santa Monica Pier is the end point of the fabled Route 66, while just south is bohemian Venice Beach, lined by tall, swaying palms. Go slightly inland from the boardwalk to catch a glimpse of the canals that earned the area its name.

Head north to the golden beach and stunning scenery of Malibu and see why movie stars over the decades have settled here. Also popular with the rich and famous are Bel Air and Beverly Hills, home to exclusive Rodeo Drive.

And the reason for all this glitz and glamour? Hollywood, of course! Sitting high on a hill, the iconic sign is visible for miles around, while below the gold stars on Hollywood Boulevard immortalize celebrities of past and present.  Be there on premiere night to see them grace the red carpet of Grauman’s Chinese Theater.

Over the hill is Universal Studios, with behind-the-scenes tours as well as rides. Next door are the Warner Brothers Studios, and Paramount Studios are closer to Downtown LA.

Whether you decide to live like a star in a luxury LA hotel or choose a cheap motel through Booking.com, it’s worth renting a car to get around this sprawling city and out to Los Angeles Airport (LAX).

Went there is visit family and watch Dodgers games. They were very accommodating as they won every game we saw (who could ask for anything more). We also went to several comedy clubs. What a great deal that is. . no fee just a request order two things (drink or food). Check out Flappers in Burbank. Note: they will charge for famous people like Jay Leno.

LA was my bucket-list destination, but it is pretty much bottom of the bucket. Honestly, I hated the city. It was dirty, crowded, the people were rude, and sadly the city needs to do more to address its homelessness crisis. Went in a couple tours, but The best part of my stay was the tour of LA’s hoods

Another great stay at the LTH. It's heating up, but the ceiling fans are keeping things comfortable And I just realized that there are washers & dryers on site. I normally use expensive fluff and fold when I travel. But I saved some cash and used the washing machines at the hotel. Very convenient. And of course the manager arranged for me to stay in my favorite room. The amazing 1st street vibe coming through my window always puts me in great mood. Many thanks to the hotel and staff for another great stay in the best area downtown.

The hotel itself is situation just a few miles for Los Angeles centre and can be easily reached by catching the No 4 bus which stops exactly outside of the hotel. The room is quite spacious and is generally very clean including the bathroom and toilet areas. The breakfast facility is situated in the same part as the reception area looking out to the main road and in general although comfortable the breakfast could be improved..all in all though this hotel is quite sufficient.

I got there and had a free early check-in. The staff helped me a lot with my luggage at the end of my stay as well. There was always water available for everyone. Everything was clean. I couldn't use the pool and wasn't able to get some drinks at the restaurant but it looked very fancy. There's always free shuttles to the Airport. The hotel is near everything. What's not to love? I totally recommend it and will always be my first option when staying in Los Angeles

Nice hotel in a central location near the Grove. The accommodations meets the standards you would except for a hotel at this cost. Friendly staff and happy to keep our bags on day of check out. There is a pool and lounge chairs to relax in the common area. There is also a valet service at the hotel. Would definitely stay again when back in LA and looking to be close to the Grove, Melrose Ave, West Hollywood and the Beverly Centre.

This is not the best hotel I ever stayed in, but it's great value for money! It's as cheap as a motel 6, but has decent services, it's impeccably clean and friendly staff. It's a historic building, 100 yrs old, so it's not like a chain hotel, but it was comfortable enough, and it has a lot of charm. The street facing rooms have views to the Hollywood sign, and the area is very clean and safe to walk.

The hotel itself is well-located in a quiet part of K-Town, not far by car from all of the most visited areas of Los Angeles, and underground car park is very secure and well laid-out. The room itself is big enough with a good TV, a small fridge, a very nice bathroom with walk-in shower (no bathtub), and a very comfy bed. We slept very well here.

Compared to the hotels in this area/ west LA, Hilton Culver City was the best bag for your buck. The price to cleanliness/ modern ratio was the best I could find. Other hotels of this cleanliness and reliability in the area were a lot more expensive and anything cheaper was kinda dirty looking/ or hostels.
