So much history and lots of art galleries.
So much history and lots of art galleries. I visited for the Impressionist exhibition. Recommend the Puffing Billy day out. Also visited the Brighton bathing boxes and walked along the coast to St Kilda and took a tram back to Melbourne from there.Guest review byAngelaAustralia - 8.0
Oscars Hotel and Bar is in a very good position for...
Oscars Hotel and Bar is in a very good position for accessing shops, restaurants, the art gallery, movie theatre and Lésspresso cafe which has THE BEST COFFEE in Ballarat. The rooms are very comfortable and have everything one needs for a stay. Although busy with the restaurant the accommodation area is very well protected from any noise from the downstairs eating areas. All Oscars staff I encountered (wait staff, management, room service staff) are very experienced, friendly and professional. Oscars restaurant was VERY popular over the three day weekend I was there and I can understand why (staff, position, comfort, accessible and welcoming for all age groups. Their wine list, whilst not extensive, had some good choices and I enjoyed both eating experiences over what was a drizzly, cold weekend. Parking was easily accessible down a side lane behind the building, and access with baggage easy from that area through to reception- staff will help with taking luggage upstairs to rooms - no lifts in keeping with any older style stone building that has been upgraded in keeping with comfort and style expected. I would recommend Oscars to anyone who would like to park the car and explore the CBD, or have the car easily accessible to scope out the many offerings in and around Ballarat.Guest review byJoanna HarrisonAustralia - 10.0
We(5 older women) visited Geelong for 2 days.
We(5 older women) visited Geelong for 2 days. We took Vline to reach the accommodation. Visited Botanical gardens & water front. Botanical gardens need some work as some areas were neglected but worth the visit. Waterfront was excellent & loved the view, semicircle walk way in the water, seating area etc We went to Westfield shopping centre to cafe & Coles. This shopping centre has variety of shops. I will visit Geelong again for couple of days when I get a chanceGuest review bySivaAustralia - 10.0

A very beautiful town with everything you need for a weekend away. Lunch at the hotel was very expensive but wholesome. We enjoyed a trip to the Apple orchard. What a delight that was with lots of choices of apples, cider and souvenirs. The children’s playground was amazing. Thank you Bright for your hospitality.Guest review byWilliamAustralia - 10.0

Flagstaff Hill Maritime Museum was fabulous; a chance to...
Flagstaff Hill Maritime Museum was fabulous; a chance to wander around a village of bygone days. And plenty of displays. Being school holidays, there was a puppet making and woodworking workshop which was fabulous. Very steep though so not ideal for those with mobility aids. Great gift shop and Beaches Cafe is attached with quality food and excellent service. Plenty of shopping for those that need it. Port of Warrnambool and beaches to see (just not when we were there due to the bad weather!) Port Fairy is just a 20 minutes drive away with a great little bakery for lunch - Cobb’s Bakery - and Tower Hill to see koalas in their natural habitat. The Lake Pertobe Adventure Playground is a hit with the kids; so much equipment to play on and things to do, including mini golf. Macs Hotel / Macey’s Bistro has excellent food, great atmosphere and friendly efficient staff. Lots of different types of accommodation to choose from for all types of travel groups of people in all price ranges. A great place for a relaxing break anytime of year.Guest review byStephen NorgateAustralia - 10.0
A great range of places to visit !
A great range of places to visit ! Rio Vista is a time capsule of living in the past and well worth the visit. The Botanical Gardens were a lovely place to walk and enjoy native plants as well as examples from other continents. The map was easy to follow. It would be even more spectacular in Spring . Walking by the Murray was very tourist friendly- great paths and excellent cafe. A great range of take away foods are available if you don't want to eat out . Delicious food from the Afghan Grill, Bakery and other Cafes Red Cliffs was worth the drive too !Guest review byElizabeth - 10.0
A good stopping point on a trip along the Great Ocean Road.
A good stopping point on a trip along the Great Ocean Road. Not as expensive, pretentious or busy in winter as Lorne is. Great fish and chips at the Fishman's Co-op., which was not too busy in winter but would be very hectic in summer of holiday periods. This is an attractive seaside town with good facilities and choice of food establishments. Worth a visit.Guest review byMrs PicklesAustralia - 10.0

Echuca is a beautiful place to visit.
Echuca is a beautiful place to visit. The food outlets provide excellent food service and the variety of shops are worth visiting. Echuca wharf is a great place to enjoy watching or cruising the paddle steamers on the Murray River. Plenty of things to see and do for everyone.Guest review byJulieAustralia
