Nice clean rooms, very warm and cozy. It was a pleasant surprise to receive a packed breakfast as a bonus. We were mesmerized with a beautiful countryside, the building is very old, but well-maintained, and has its special charm.

We were hugely disappointed to arrive and find that the hotel had a notice stuck to the door saying that they were closed until further notice; and this after I had been asked to confirm our reservation.
We had expected to be contacted if there had been any problems with our booking.
So- having arrived at the Radstock Hotel after a long day - we found that we had to suddenly find alternative accommodation in the area

Reasonable amount of food outlets.
Reasonable amount of food outlets. I went to a place with family which was outside Radstock to eat. It is easy to get around by car but public transport is a bit scarce. For a small town it generates a lot of through traffic but it is situated between 2 cities

Really good food and large portions. Friendly bubbly staff.
Really good food and large portions. Friendly bubbly staff. Land Lady very helpful with places to visit.
Suggested bus to Bath with our bus passes bus stop really close, we caught bus so didn't have any trouble of parking. Visited Wells on Market day. Pub not far away from Cheddar or Bath.
Even though they held two wakes while were staying there it didn't affect their service to locals or any other guests. Had a Parrott called Pee WEE
which was very entertaining.

This was an excellent choice as a base being midway from Bristol or Bath. There are eating places close to the Hotel.
Radstock was a mining town and there is a museum just across the road from the hotel.

Really nice friendly cosy absolute surprise on the open fireplace that made my stay it was amazing I will deafly come back there again The beds were really comfortable really clean and a good nice sleep plus really powerful shower deafly can’t wait to go back there again at some point
I stayed here with my mum and sister for one night. We had a huge room with tea, coffee and biscuits on arrival. The beds were comfortable. We ate dinner in the pub downstairs, there was a good choice on the menu and the food was cooked beautifully by the owner. There was a great selection at breakfast, a choice of cereals, followed by fruit compote, yoghurt, pancakes and/or cooked breakfast. We felt really at home here and this was due to the warm welcome we received, I would highly recommend staying here.
The Breakfast was among the best we have enjoyed. Very well cooked with obvious local quality suppliers, well presented and thoroughly enjoyable.
The inn has an extremely long history and the current owner has only added quality and service to that. The decor and fabric of the building has been kept rather than 'modernised' which helps maintain the atmosphere of its ancestry.
As far as location is concerned we found it very simple and easy when travelling from Bath.
The host was very responsive - we had an internet problem on a Saturday over the Xmas weekend and he managed to contact an engineer and got it sorted out - first class.
We had seven persons staying (5 adults + 2 kids) whereas normally it sleeps 6 adults. The host was very accommodating.
The house is a very nice family space and was excellent for making Xmas lunch and entertaining later in the day.
Great to see all of the wildlife - deer and squirrels included.
Beautiful location, cosy, spacious, very clean and tidy. Perfect hosts who had a keen eye for detail. No complaints. Would be a perfect place for a summer staycation as there is a nice outside area where you can have a BBQ. Bath city centre is only a short drive away. We found a lovely little pub which done a delicious roast dinner called the The Fromeway in Radstock which is not far from the annexe at all.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was lovely and the room and bed were a really good size. The shower was very powerful and everything worked well. The room and the facilities were clean.
Didn't have any grapefruit which was on the breakfast menu but I got a bowl of fresh strawberries instead.
Definitely dog friendly.
The Old Down Inn is an old staging/posting inn, and therefore, not unexpectedly, right on the road. So, it has plenty of character, and the choice of food if eating there is excellent and very well priced. Breakfast was exceptional - we have stayed at a number of b&bs and this was one of the tastiest we have had.
Super Grand property in a fab location good size room wonderful grounds two good size swimming pools both heated
Ten minutes from nearest town ( Radstock)
Only 25 minutes from Bath recommend park n ride much less hassle
Fridge in room handy good size balcony
Nice towelling robes friendly owners
The hotel was so lovely! It was inside the cutest pub with the loveliest beer garden. The bedrooms were gorgeous and the bed was soooo comfy! We had such a nice sleep. Very good value for money and we had breakfast included. Staff was lovely as well - thank you!
If you like classic old inns, you will love the Old Down Inn. Beautifully maintained buildings and grounds, Maxine has lovely gardens. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. Great beds! Bathroom was modern and clean. Breakfast was very good.
The hotel was really good, set in lovely grounds housing yurts and cabins. We had a separate apartment room with a door exiting onto a garden area.
The breakfast was excellent as was the evening food. Very enjoyable, would recommend.
Lovely pub hotel! We only stayed for one night but had a very lovely, cosy room with very comfortable bed. The cooked breakfast the next day was delicious and staff very friendly. Would recommend!
Room was spotlessly clean and well-equipped. Bed was very comfortable. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Can't comment on breakfast, as I don't take breakfast in hotels.
The host was superbly helpful, even after my late arrival. The Breakfast has restored my faith in the English cooked breakfast again. one of the best I have ever had.
